Oh boy! Those puppies are absolutely adorable! How heart warming! And one of the best things about shar pei's is that they're still completely adorable when they hit their adult stage. I still can't make up my mind on whether I want a shar pei or a rottweiler. Totally different breeds but they're both awesome pets.

How lucky you were to have so many at one time. :)

People quit buying dogs, go to your local animal shelter or humane society

and adopt, you will feel good about your self, & besides there are beatiful dogs cats etc.. less breeding more adopting, all my pets are adopted, I love them to death no difference they all love the same, quit focusing on looks,

Please be careful when choosing a shelter dog as you won't know the dogs background so choose wisely especially if you have children, there are too many horror stories today were dogs attack children.

Do the wrinkles on all Shar Peis in general cause health issues for them? Do they do well in heat?

@8a9crrre The wrinkles actually don't give them any health problems. The problems they have with their skin is dietary.

As for in the heat they are just like any other dog they get hot and move to a cool place, they do like to sun bathe too.

@sharpeipups It's a girl and got it while it was a puppy. It tries to be dominant over my other german shepherds, which is amusing because it is tiny in comparison. Thankfully my shepherds are trained and just ignore her. One thing I love about about her though is that she is very affectionate and clownish, bringing lots of joy to the people at home =)

Hi I'm sorry to hear that you lost your Shar Pei, They do live until 12yrs of age and sometimes older, your dog was very young to have passed, but i don't believe this is typical of the breed.

yeah this is true, I had two Sharpeis, a blonde one named Pudge who live to be a miraculous 15, and her daughter Tarbaby who was born the same time i was died at 13.

@MsPatricianne we are located In the UK, and Sharpei's from breeders typically cost from £700 upto £1600 depending on pedigree and colour, there are cheeper Shar Pei's advertised but often they come without pedigree's and can be mixed with other breeds. When buying a puppy you need to know the puppys and parents history. These puppies underwent eye tacking which is not surgery, because we do care about their health, and well being all our pups are fully vet checked. We do not breed our pups for wrinkles. You can visit our website and as you will see our 2 dogs, are not overly wrinkly, and are well looked after. These pups were from our male who was stud to this beautiful litter of pups.

Hi, we have 2 shar pei, and we keep in contact with all owners of our pups, and also we know other Pei owners; our dogs and any of the pups or friends Pei's have never suffered with seizures. I would avoid any medication unless your Pei is suffering with seizures, or has in the past. Please let me know if your Pei is or has suffered with seizures.

Hi, they are not dots they are tacks. Shar Pei can often suffer a problem called Entropian this is were the eyelids roll in and the lashes irritate the eyeball, and can cause ulcers, and if left can make a Shar Pei go blind; although these are puppies the eyes are tacked mainly to help prevent this problem developing later; although some Shar Pei will need additional tacking of the eyes up until they are 2 years old.

Hi all our puppies are now sold, but in this litter were a mix of Horsecoats and Brushcoats. Both of the above coat types are acceptable for showing whereas bear coat which is more like the chow is not recognised for showing. Horsecoat tends to be coarse and can often cause skin irritation, Brush can be coarse and soft. Horsecoats tend to look wrinklier as there is less fur to cover the wrinkles. Our 2 dogs are brushcoat.

Don't be to harsh on him, he's beautiful. It's all about timing as the Bitch although the days may have been at the so called height of her season, it may have been early as some bitches are ready towards the 16-18th day it's a complex thing and not always so much of a science as vets often predict.
