  • does the thermite hang low enough to allow for the padded belt of a large backpack? Thanks for the vid brother!

  • Some great ideas thanks hope you dont mind if i steel them thanks

  • i can't believe you managed to stuff all of those things inside that thing... impressed

  • why carry 3 fire starters??? in my view thats 2 more than you need

  • @ajkrugby I'd rather have it and not need it then need it and not have it. I've have lost things in the past, things break, etc. Just my personal preference is all. Hopefully you never go into the woods and lose your one firestarting method, could be bad....Thanks for watching and commenting

  • I am interested with the fishing rod but te more I think about it the more I think how easy it is to make a pole in the bush so I don't feel the need to carry one. I have caught thousands of fish growing up with a cane pole and 10 ft of line

  • Wow ... I wan to buy one Thermite Versipack to carry some items for my police job ( hopefully)...now I see it has a large cargo capacity which is great....Would you be so kind to tell me where can a buy the mini fishing cane? it is awesome and very practical...Thanks a lot

  • Im curious to know all your uses for the bread pan? If you have tried the pin fishing kit, and how it stands up to a hobo/pvc style fishing kit? Im guessing this has been suggested but you could get some use from copper trapping wire in that kit, or what ever kit your running now. O also check out fishing yo yo's if you haven't, their light compact and keep working when your not.

  • I just found and watched your Belt system series. I am amazed at the amount you can get into it! I am curious, a comment mentioned you carry a pack also. What kind do you use? does it have hip belt attached and interfere with the belt system? This is all new to me. I would like to see an arrow video too. Its Homemade? The thigh rig is the first I have seen and excellent item. thank you. cheers

  • @truckpipe I do carry a pack as well. At the time I was using this set up I carried either a Maxpedition VultureII, a riflemans pack or the USMC ILBE pack. The belt system never interfered with the hip belt at all. As far as the arrow goes, it is homemade. If I start making videos again it is on the top of the list to do for sure. Dave Canterbury recently did a video on making an arrow similar to this one and he explains things far better then I could hope to do. Thanks for watching!

  • Other ideas: 1.think you should include e emergency blanket; 2.Think you be better leaving the arrow and have more ammo for your gun, plus add a micro maintenance kit for it. If you do not have a way to store water, water purification tables are usuless (believe me on this one) I would go with a small filter or find a small foldable water container..there are several brands out there and they are not expensive.. Nice vids mate!

  • @travelerofthehorizon Lol, I do carry more ammo in my cargo pants pocket. Can never have to much. I used the aqua pouch for the water storage, its a semi rugged bag and the grommet holes make it easy to carry. I also have a small folded up bread pan and a aquamir water filer (the straw) in the kit...at least when I shot this video and was carrying this kit. I have since stopped using this set up. Thanks again for all the comments/suggestions

  • Also: Great idea about those plant "books" but I think you need to find a way to double water proof then..I have terrible exp. with papper in the field...third knife?(including the multitool blade) I think is too much..Love your videos great ideas!

  • Great vid! Great ideas! If you allow me some tips: You can easily improvise the Frog spear when in the field..Think you should leave it...very bulky peace of equipment. You can add some small LED lights..they are minusculus, weight nothing and last longer...Again: great vidS! keep then coming!

  • @travelerofthehorizon Thanks for the advise. I do carry a Fenix PD30, I suppose I should have done a video on my EDC as well. All great suggestions. Thanks

  • Great kit. like the Quality of your Vid. Clear voice, no wasted time, good info...

  • amazing kit you have. i just watched all 3 of your vids. you were short, detailed, and to the point. so many times do i watch vids where people just want to run their mouth about dumb shit and 2 minutes into the vid they start talking about the topic. i am subscribing right now! thank you!

  • @smasci Thanks for watching. glad you liked it.

  • thats a lot of stuff packed into a small pouch man , other that cookware and a tent i dont really ever take more than that with me ,

its easy to tell that you watch daves youtube videos, well thoughtout kit.

  • Where have you been?? I LOVE your videos! You do a GREAT job! but you haven't posted any in a while. Are you working on anything new? looking forward to seeing more. : )

  • @saasione Thanks for commenting. I've been crazy busy with work. I haven't even had the opportunity to go camping/hiking since winter time. On top of that my computer caught a nasty virus and I lost my editing software. I do have a few new bags that I was testing and am really impressed with. I also have been playing around with a few new recipes-the shepherds pie is outstanding. Hopefully I'll get back to posting videos in the near future. Thanks again for the interest in my videos

  • im curious as to where you carry your cold steel sword, and if you do not carry one all i have to say is preposterous

  • @bobmellon No swords brother, sorry. My BHK knife is pretty sword like.

  • Thanks for sharing this brillinat video with us ! .thumps up

  • What do you use this kit for?

  • @OperationThor I changed this kit around a lot. I carried this set up with me to practice some skills and to keep some essential (at least in my opinion) gear with me. Hope that helped. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

  • @wildmutt1978

Yeah its a sweet kit. I think you have the essentials covered!

  • Awesome!

Very well thought out. I'm sure you've gone through many versions to get it to where it is at your present date. Thanks for listing where you picked up the various components.

  • @S08 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I did go through several versions before I posted this video. Like everything else this kit has also changed and evolved. Thanks for watching! Brian

  • @wildmutt1978 I might've missed it in the part 1 and 2 videos, but how much does your belt system weigh in total with the thermite and the condor rig together? Do you notice any dragging on the hip with the given weight of your system?

  • @S08 The system weighed approximately 10 pounds, it was 5 on each side. It was nice that it was evenly proportioned. I really didnt notice the weight and didnt notice any drag, however I dont carry this system any more. After not carrying a belt system for a little while now, I definately notice the difference. Hope that helps a little. Brian

  • Very Nice video and review! Wow you really put a lot of stuff inside the small bag/bags. Very impressive, but I figure you could even put more and for around 5lbs that really isnt a lot at all. However, the one thing that I would add is a survial banket because even if you build a shelter, say an 'A" frame low to the ground with a lot of leaves etc...it would be nice to wrap up in the space banket. Which would help with keeping you a little dry in a rain storm under shelter.

  • @lawson863 Thanks for watching, and that is a great suggestion. I did change my kit around considerably and took into account better sheltering/protection from the environment. When I was carrying this particular kit around I also carried a pack back with additional items-I just never got around to posting that video because my computer caught a nasty virus and so did my editing software. Anyways thanks for taking the time to comment.

  • @wildmutt1978 you're welcome...again great video

  • Great video man! I have also been liking the thigh carry concept. This vid gives me a few more ideas. I would love to see a vid on the pen rod when you get a chance to test it. I have examined one in the store, but never used it. I am not confident in the rod itself, but if the reel is reliable a new rod could be created in the woods. Let me know how it performs.

  • @lewelltoney2 Thanks for watching. I posted some comments about the fishing rod. In my opinion it not worth the money. The pole split on the first fish I caught (an average sized bluegill), and the reel didn't perform well either. I threw both in the garbage and went back to my pocket fishing kit. Take it for what its worth, but I would never recommend a product that performed this way. Thanks again for watching. Brian

  • Great series.

Where did you get your backup knife.

    Thanks.

  • @myactionhobbies Thanks. I actually won the knife. Its a Shango by Joe, and they are made by Tops knives.

  • @derfy26 Thanks for watching. I use an outline so I dont miss any points/items that I want to cover

  • Very well presented - respect!

  • @khildner Thanks!!

  • Well done Brian; gave me lots of good ideas!

  • @Spikestrip55 Thanks for watching....

  • FYI: The fishing pole and the reel are not, in my opinion, worth the money. My pole split on the first fish I caught, and I wasn't happy with how the reel performed either. Just thought I'd share this with anyone interested in buying this particular piece of kit. Thanks

  • @wildmutt1978 i was just going to ask about the fishing pole. i've heeded your warning but I still like to try things out on my own. where could I get this? Also, can you do a review on the take down arrow? thanks and great video. Keep it up.

  • have you tried wearing the thermite with a big sized backpack? does it interfere with with the lombarstraps?

    thanks for your vids. subscribed.

  • @Cannonbo Thanks for watching. I have wore the thermite versipack with a MOLLE Rifleman pack and the it did not interfere with the straps or supports at all. The way the Versipack is set up it sits below the belt line of yor pants. Hope that helps. Brian

  • u said u would say how much it was??

  • @nick617617 Hello and thanks for watching. I never got around to listing the prices on the individual items, sorry. Was there something specific you wanted to know the price on?

  • Well, if you're prepared and know the risks, I guess having the suture stuff gives you one more tool in the toolbox. Hopefully you won't need it, but it's there. Although come to think of it a suture kit might also be an excellent emergency sewing kit for repairing heavy duty material like 1000 Denier nylon and leather.

  • @robbabcock1969 Another great suggestion, that I hadn't really thought about. Thanks for the idea. Brian

  • Very nice vid! You definitely include some stuff I wouldn't have thought of- uncommon for YouTube survival kit clips. I do question the inclusion of suture stuff, though...I think suturing under austere conditions is pretty difficult even for highly trained medical personnel, and not wise for laymen at all. I'd suggest a little tube of superglue, a disposable stapler or just using the duct tape. Otherwise, I like the kit.

  • @robbabcock1969 Thanks for watching and commenting. I do have a stapler in a different kit. I have practiced a good deal with various suture kits (on raw chicken skin). I know its not the same, but I feel confident in my abilities. A buddy of mine gashed his leg open pretty good about a year ago and he sutured it up nicely. Again this isnt something I want to do to me or my family, but in a worst case scenario I'll do the best I can. Thanks for watching. Brian

  • Sure that will help

  • Sure. Thank you for the help.

  • Nice Vid.

Did you do the one on the arrow. Been playing with one and it did not come out to well.

  • @Survial9999 Im sorry, I haven't done a video on the arrow yet. It is on the the to do list. Maybe I can just stoot a quick video on an arrow that I already did and walk you through the steps I did to complete my arrow...if you think that would help? Thanks for watching

  • once again another great vid!!!!! Like the way u think!!!

  • @ascorpio09 Thanks for watching and posting all the comments. I get alot of the ideas in these videos from other people and just kinda tweak them a little bit to my liking. Glad you like the videos.

  • Good video. Well thought out kit with built in redundancy.

  • @TeaPartyPatriot2010

Thanks for watching. I was pleasantly surprised at how much space the Thermite Versipack actually has. Good luck on your kit.

  • Lots of great gear in that kit. I'd like to see more on the arrow as well. Thanks!

  • Hello sraike, Hope all is well. I'm going to do a quick video on the arrow as soon as I drag my laziness to the archery store and Dicks sporting. Thanks for watching.

  • Good rig, tons of great ideas! Do you know where the telescoping fishing rod and reel came from? I'd love to get one!

  • Nice vid Brian, 5/5. would also like to see a vid on the arrow, I have been thinking about the sling bow and converting my slingshot over, this may put me over the top.

    Marty

  • Hey Marty, Thanks for watching. As soon as I get the supplies I will make up another one. Just have to pass by the archery shop to pick up the inserts/ Rhe sling bow is awesome. I can't hit the broad side of a barn with a sling shot, but Im getting better wit hthe arrows.

  • Brian, After watching all 3 vids , I have to say you should scrap that whole setup and start over. Go ahead and put it in a box and send it to me for disposal.

    5*s Bro - Critr'

  • Hey Steve. I was like awe man he didn't like it. To funny, you got me. Thanks for watching.

  • i would like to see a vid on that arrow

why keep the hooks and sinkers in the aluminium tube? i have a few of these and cant decide what to put in them lmao

  • Hello Wolfbrother2501. I will defiantely do a video on the arrow as soon as I can. As far as the hooks and sinkers go I just like to put them in a container of some sort so I dont scratch my hand on the hooks as Im looking for them or something else. I know some people put vaseline cotton balls in them. Hope that helped. Thanks again for watching.

  • oh thanks very much i never thought of that i guss they are sharp needle like peices of metal lol

  • No problem. The only reason I thought about the capsule was because I was feeling around in a bag and hooked myself once. LOL

  • Excellent series! All great gear, and I like the carry system.

  • Hello Zoolanderfred, Thanks for watching and posting the comment.

  • Great job, really enjoyed watching this series!

  • Hello Darthwelt, Thanks for all the views and the comments.
