Em minha humilde e honesta opinião, a primeira versão é melhor do que esta, mas esta música é maravilhosa, especialmente porque Dori Caymmi é um dos melhores músicos do mundo. Dave Grusin é um grande compositor e a trilha tem perfeita sincronia com a narrativa do filme.
"Havana" is a good movie, remake of "Cuba", filmed in 1979 with Sean Connery, both with first class soundtracks. In my honest opinion, the first version is better than this, but that song is amazing, specially because Dori Caymmi ( he is brazilian) is one of the best musicians in the world. Dave Grusin is a great composer and his score is in perfect adaptation for the story.
Havana is my favorite movie..perhaps it is because of this song...the love we feel for someone and the steps we take to love them even when things don't work out...or the way that we bring out a different aspect in someone that we love
I play this song over and over again with my head phones. I feel every chord, every instrument vibrating, dave's musical thumbprints on every musical note and of course Dori's hypnotic vocal instrument.
One of the best and most romantic movies ( Havana) ever done. Grusin's music and this piece in particular are just fantastic. The quote by the old gigolo at the cafe about women is one I use constantly.
You're right. Havana is a hidden gem of a movie and one of my favorites. I may be wrong but I think the old man was supposed to be the author Ernest Hemingway.
@airdriver I have been in South America and in a way U see these type of men that just enjoy the wonder and adventure! When I see this movie and see that part with the older man, I think of one individual in Venezuela when I was their.. good movie and brings many a memory of my roams in South America
