Plus add the fact that it is harder to make an aircooled engine perform this well without being able to drive it around like this one can. As far as being unstable, any street car in the 10s is unstable, with the power to weight ratio to run that quick ANY true street car would be unstable.

Nicely put. I own a fox body Mustang and my friend and I LOVE older V8 muscle cars of all kinds, but his dad owns an 11 second all-motor '74 super Beetle that we both have helped build and support at the drags. That thing is nothing to fuck with. I watch it take 9 second V8 drag cars to the cleaners through the 60 foot and 1/8th mile every time, and it's all home built. Nice bug, you're almost competition for the Red Barron!

LOL......we have yet to make a full 1/4 pass with it last year because of clutch failures. I shut it off at 1000ft and went 10.71 @ 95mph, so hopefully we will see finally what she can do this year. If you see my other vids, you will see a clutch slipping pass...UGLY! New clutch set-up this year and new rear shocks. We have made a few other engine changes as well to gain some more horsepower. I am anxiuos to get the car back on the track. Cheers!
