  • thanks nice video

  • hey, how do you know when the lens is tight enough so the water doesnt seep in?

  • @mcneilbros well, keep twisting those screws until they stop!

  • Please keep making how to tutorials with the Go Pro! Subscribed!

  • i have to say that this video was really well made! not that im an expert but seriously! i know where to go now if something happens with my gopro:)

  • very pro looking video. very helpful, informative, and saved my go pro!

  • @Drjerome1 sweet. same

  • @Drjerome1 why are you talking to ur self ....

  • @MattSawFly im not, im giving back feed back.

  • i have the same screwdriver!!

  • Thanks :)

  • guys my actuall camera lens is broken..... what do i do without spending 300 dollars?

  • @dman7654321

If you purchased it from us, contact us. If not, contact the store you purchased if from and they should have a way to solve your problem.

  • just out of curiosity, how did you do that?

  • @redtail5 my gopro fell out of this box with its protective housing on and when it hit the ground the actual lense crackec

  • @dman7654321 go to StuntCams(dot)com... they have them. Screw calling Gopro...they will tell you it 'cannot be done and that you must buy another camera'! You can spend 80 bux for the new lense assy or you can fall for GoPro sales tactics and spend $200 plus. Also...seriously consider the 135 fov lense as opposed to the Gopro 170. It will give you less edge distortion and more clarity at center of FOV.

  • Just an observation:

Never replace the lens with the camera inside the enclosure. You may damage the real lens.

  • does the kit work for the hd heros?

  • @monkieboi88 Yes, works for all GoPro's

  • yea but you need to emphasize the torque seeting on the screw, in order to safely remove it without difficultly; the screwdriver needs excessive pressure to enable the screw to turn without stripping the head. and ultimatley damaging the under water housing!!! =o

  • @flippy0450 Looks like GoPro listened and the lens replacement kit now comes with a bigger screw driver :-)

  • this is really hard, make sure not to strip the screws!

  • @flippy0450 that's why we made the video :-)

  • lols, love the easter egg at the end...

  • I had no l idea l could replace my damaged lens, thanks for the information :)

  • is that only for broken/scratched lenses or is it against the blurry under water videos?

  • @kamikatze07 If your lens is fogging up you could replace it (since it comes with the new seal), or buy one of the GoPro anti-fog inserts.

  • @PointOfViewCameras no i didn't mean foggy, i don't even have a gopro, because as heard from my seller and other people who tried it, that if you really use it while diving the picture is not sharp because of focus-problems. so it would be quite useless for me at the moment

  • @kamikatze07 GoproHD's have outstanding video quality, just watch some of the videos under GoPro cameras on our website (or in our blog). It's all about how stable your mounting is.

  • Nice work Tadej. Good to see that you can replace a $20 lens instead of buying a $40 housing.

  • @mikebtube

I believe the $20 gets you two lenses, and a pair of the special o-rings, in addition to the screwdriver and extra stainless screws. Nice to see some diy-repair support from a company rather than the typical "send it back to us with a blank cheque" kind of repair.

  • @93PGTKL Yes for sure. Nice to see this kit. Saves every one from having to buy a new enclosure.

  • Great job, thanks for the tip ;-)

    lol @ the end ;-)
