@dman7654321 go to StuntCams(dot)com... they have them. Screw calling Gopro...they will tell you it 'cannot be done and that you must buy another camera'! You can spend 80 bux for the new lense assy or you can fall for GoPro sales tactics and spend $200 plus. Also...seriously consider the 135 fov lense as opposed to the Gopro 170. It will give you less edge distortion and more clarity at center of FOV.
yea but you need to emphasize the torque seeting on the screw, in order to safely remove it without difficultly; the screwdriver needs excessive pressure to enable the screw to turn without stripping the head. and ultimatley damaging the under water housing!!! =o
@PointOfViewCameras no i didn't mean foggy, i don't even have a gopro, because as heard from my seller and other people who tried it, that if you really use it while diving the picture is not sharp because of focus-problems. so it would be quite useless for me at the moment
@kamikatze07 GoproHD's have outstanding video quality, just watch some of the videos under GoPro cameras on our website (or in our blog). It's all about how stable your mounting is.
I believe the $20 gets you two lenses, and a pair of the special o-rings, in addition to the screwdriver and extra stainless screws. Nice to see some diy-repair support from a company rather than the typical "send it back to us with a blank cheque" kind of repair.
thanks nice video

THIS IS NOT A CAMERA LENSE!!! IT IS A LENSE COVER. Being a camera dealer, you of all people should know the difference.

Just an observation:
Never replace the lens with the camera inside the enclosure. You may damage the real lens.

is that only for broken/scratched lenses or is it against the blurry under water videos?
kamikatze07 1 year ago
@kamikatze07 If your lens is fogging up you could replace it (since it comes with the new seal), or buy one of the GoPro anti-fog inserts.

Nice work Tadej. Good to see that you can replace a $20 lens instead of buying a $40 housing.
