  • great video. I almost did the same but ended up changing the battery and made huge difference. I bailed out because everything is so tiny. well done though on your mod! Thanks for sharing

  • Hi Gourvelos,

What brand of glue do you use for plastic ?

    Thank you

  • Excellent, really like what you have done! Will be interesting to see how the new mSR X flies with a BL setup... Have you tried a direct drive setup on the mSR like forsakenrider? I've been trying a direct drive setup with little success..

  • Awesome Video!! Thx for posting!!! Quick question: What type of flight time are you getting with this set-up....I would guess It would be slightly diminished with approx 22% more gram/thrust....Thanks again.

  • Innovative, interesting.

  • can you help me to find out what is wrong with newly upgraded my brushless msr? problem is msr does not have much power. i used 7500kv brushless motor, steve's dual converter, 3a esc. pinion gear used for motor has 8 teeth. it does not climb like yours. it climbs slowly, always needs time. i do not really know what to do. i ordered pinion to change to 15 teeth. but i am not sure it help. please any suggestion?

  • great job, but as I see it is will simply climb faster, and cause a lots of wear on the tail motor, as it cannot keep up, not to mention the tail blowout...

  • @ronhogwarts the simple fact is the stock setup of the mSR is 100% fine, and unless you go dual brushless there is no point in increasing the power with a brushless motor. this video was for those who were folowing me in a dual brushless setup, I have some video's that continue on from here

  • i dont like taking the canopy off with that goofy second stud thing on it closer to the front i always think im gonna bust the canopy

  • you sound like chucktseeker

  • hey elias... Would you be able to explain what a brushless motor does that is different than the stock motor that comes with the heli?

  • @kas130771 With this particular heli there is no benefit going brushless the simple fact is that the stock motors last a long time, so the only benefit is more power.

  • Good setup on the mSR. Explained well. Just sub'd ya!

  • You did a fantastik job on that install I can barly see what I am doing with the stock parts becuase everything is so small. I was looking for a more powerfull motor to fit in its original spot. Do you know of any? How did you balance the helicopter after putting that big motor on the rightside? Did you put a counterwieght on the leftside? If not wouldnt it take full left aileron just to keep it in a hover? And it would go to the right very fast :) Keep thinking out of the box

  • @bobsizzz the weight on the right doesnt seem to bother it, I guess its like when the motor is in the front it doesnt bother it, there are some guys doing similar mods in RCGRroups now and have mounted motors in all different spots. some used an even smaller motor than I have but not that much power

  • Holy Crap that little motor is throwing out some RPM's! Tourquey too.

  • Who are the stupid peoples rated thumbs down?? If you don't understand what you are seeing, just QUIT and DON'T RATE!

    Excellent video

  • Nice to meet you. Hello.

    Which type did PIC use?

  • The PIC used I cant remember off hand as it is progammed by a gentleman that calls himself TheSteve on RCGRoups, and for the cost I couldnt be bothered programming my own (even though I have the programmer and code somewhere) I am an Electrical Engineer so yeah it wouldnt take much to work it out, but someone has dont that already... Have a look at Dual Brushless mSR mods in RCGroup you will find parts lists there

  • Hello.

Thank you very much for your contact.

    I'll try.

  • A 3d printer might make a perfect one off frame

  • STTTTUUUPPPIIIDDD.

  • having the word stupid next to your name is not something you should let the public know. Perhaps a more appropriate comment would be that your mentally challenged, after looking at your profile anyone who associates themselves with songs that mentione dog and backside really need some mental help, I hope you have been able to understand this message. I tried to dumb it down as much as I could.

  • Great, next time.......please give flight video first. I about DIED and after about 4 minutes I GAVE UP.

  • @XRayCam It's because you just don't understand... It's not a flight video, it's an awesome modification here... The flight video is just to show us the power of the brushless modification over the original brushed motor...

  • Great, next time.......please give flight video first. I about DIED and after about 4 minutes I GAVE UP.

  • I can understand that certain people would have an issue following instructions, perhaps a more advanced person such as yourself shouldnt be looking for total information on how this gets put together, would be interested in seeing your efforts in this field

  • @Gourvelos My mistake, Right after I posted I kept watching. The pinion is from a walkera 4#3. Thanks, I might try this some time.

  • Hey this video was really great. Keep up the good work!

  • Hello talented genius, your skill is excellent. But would you try it outdoor and see how the motor react, pls? We'd like to know.

  • thats much power my msr did 46 gramms shrtly...with good lipo...

  • COOL!!

  • Put your T-rex 500 on that scale xD

  • the question is will it blend!!!!

  • I like this video. great shooting.

  • MSR stock thrust is more than 40 gramms.....

  • i can hear that poor tail rotor motor sceaming save me

  • Incredible - GREAT work!! Horizon should hire you to help develop new helis for them. :)

  • have to say that I am also in love with my mSR and it's angry vespa noise...LOL

  • This is insane! It climbs faster than it drops... lol..

  • How long does the stock battery last/ take to charge?

I don't really know anything about this heli, i just want the basics:)

  • What a lash up! And that huge motor to one side surely must make it a pain in the arse to fly, either that or your aileron trim must be maxed out to the left.

  • No not at all, almost identical weight, same balance, not trim needed, the motor is lighter than the stock motor

  • it looks like this is not eflites idea just your own by the looks you have snipped and glued the frame?

can you tell me how much it cost for this setup?

  • whoa!! the brushless motor make the blade msr go up more

  • where did u get that brushless motor?i want 1

  • plz elaborate on the topic i want to know how u installed esc and the motor. And from where did u get the esc.plz reply

  • awesome

  • Excellent, I love the MSR's angry wasp noise, lol.

  • Good God man, is there anything that ya can't do;) ??

  • :O This is awesome man! Did you get any economical performance increase?

  • Fantastic !!! I got an MSR for my 39th Bday I won't be modding mine but it's great to see this one angry little beast . Keep up the good work. Steve

  • hello Mr.

I want to know if you can make a video , step by step how you put the esc and motor, please.

  • thats really cool, its got a sort of wasp sound to it! lol

  • were you buy this motor ?

  • It is overpowering the tail :)

  • Yeah I Changed the tail motor as it was on it's way out, it just holds at full punch ups, but my tail brushless mod is almost completed and should be fine.

  • Did you get longer runtimes with the brushless setup? In theory it should be more efficient but then its a more powerful setup altogether.

  • Really a superb mod!

  • Great mod !
