  • AWESOME !!!

  • Is that Kid Rock on the Keys?

  • Is this the same performance that's on the "Revealing Science of God" DVD?

  • No Wakeman...no Yes

  • @green3825 ,,,just close your eyes.....let it happen......lose yourself in the song....it's still real good

  • Man saw these consumate musicians at Long Beach Auditorium back in the 70's such an experience. John = voice of an angel.

  • a Super Band at their height without doubt. Glad I was turned on at that time. Saw Wakeman live but never YES unfortunately. Rock at it's progressive best.

  • On Amazon there's a DVD of this show coming out in May called The Revealing Science of God.

  • All I can say is...WOW!

  • so who was the lineup in this concert ? who is the second guitarist and the keyboardist ?

  • @TheMcInturff the Yes '98 touring band line up with Billy Sherwood guitarist (also Yes album producer) and Igor Koroshev keyboardist

  • Jon is great in this video. Lots of stage presence and his voice is very strong.

  • I Loved this Tour, they went out to Jam, the CD Open Your Eyes was a Contractual thing, so they put out Chris/Billy Tunes mainly. The Tour was Great

  • Terrible video tho. Howe ripping stuff and the camera is elsewhere.

  • awesome solo steve!!!

  • Fantastic ! The Yes is one of the best bands on the World :)

  • The classic Yes lineup is legendary. Nobody can be as productive as they were. Quality music made sooo easily... Genius

  • Khoroshev makes that solo look easy

  • Do we really think the new lineup of YES can come up with any new material remotely decent? By comparison, this seems great.

  • igor is defenetly better than patrick moraz by far here you can hera him clear

  • Damn, music from my dad's time are better than today's crap...

  • Guys, please, you don`t seem to notice, they`ve been changing, as all of us have, in age, and of course evolving in their music, too.

I wouldn `t be satisfied, if they were still playing same way, cause this wouldn `t be truth at all.People change, sound system and posibilities change. used to think as you do, but...no, they `re GREATER!.Because they`ve got a more elaborated sound, see, Howe on slide...it`s amazing, and , mixed with that of his guitar, enhances the song.

  • CORRECT! This is a hollow YES. Great to see, but lousy sound! The last Tormato tour show 6/30/79 was the last time they sounded like real YES. From 1997 to 2010 with Steve Howe, slow, sloppy, just getting by. In general he's still amazing but terrible compared to 1971-1979. Lousy sound system, inferior playing compared to 1971-1979. Low energy version. They need Eddie Offord, Brian Lane & Claire Brothers

  • i wouldn't be as harsh as your opinion. ive been to several DECENT to DAMN GOOD yes shows from 1983-1993-ish, but ever since then, the sound is just thin and weak. i don't know, there just doesn't seem to be any muscle behind their playing. i think steve does a good job here, though.

  • I saw them in 2000 and again in 2004. When this line up was playing (in the video) they improved their sound doubly compared to the Keys to Ascension albums, and lost it again when Wakeman rejoined. Nevertheless they played brilliantly at the shows I saw, but there has'nt been any new material from this band since 2001. What does that tell you?

  • Been going to Yes concerts since Close to The Edge, Steve uses such dry sounds these days, not what made him or Yes famous, sounds like he is messing around in his living room with no effects, no Yes "sound" -don't get it

  • I just watched the live 1972 Roundabut - they look like different guys! I expect I do too because I was 8 then and I'm 44 now!

Did anybody else see thewm at Hammersmith Apollo in 1998. I saw them twice and missed the train home one of those times. Great show. They MILKED 'And You and I' it was marvellous. Greaty show . They started in UK went round the EU and then back to UK for extras.

Anyway Igor was BRILLIANT I thought. He was th ultimate fan. Where did he go?

  • Yes in the 90's was a great experience.

Igor and Billy did a good job the short time they were with them.

  • i have a question for every one here

there are a official material of this period of is booglet because of this era i only know THE HOUSE OF BLUES

  • Igor was pretty good in this. I always liked his classic style of playing. reminds me of real early YES

  • @olias88, I've listened to Igor very carefully, I think he is the best keyboard player Yes has had outside Wakeman.

  • This is such an interesting sound mix compared to what we usually here. Steve and Igor are high on the mix with Alan.

I admit, I'm partial to the Budapest concert because they did give Igor more exposure. He's good.

  • Whaddahell? 'tis one of the best songs EVAR, but THIS is awful.

  • Jon Anderson...NOW THIS IS YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this rocks

  • YEAH!fuckin incredible.!!!!!

  • I wonder if they ever get tired of playing the same songs over and over again 30 + years.

  • I'll start by saying I love them, but I think they must. It's probably every artists goal to continue to create new things life and not get pinned into recreating moments from eras gone by. Having said that I hope they play Close To The Edge the next I ever get to see them!

  • short hair for Chris

  • they opened with this on wednesday on the in the present tour.

    benoit david was great!

  • That is one of the best clean guitar solos I've ever heard... I can't imagine many other Guitarists being able to pull off such an awesome solo with only a light crunch on it.

  • DAMN!!

They've still got it. It was a slight bit slower than on Close to the Edge...but GREAT nonetheless.

I first saw YES as a backup band to Alvin Lee and 10 Years After at Duke in 1971.

YES was the opening act and they totally upstaged Alvin Lee...and people actually left (including me)...and went straight out to buy The Yes Album.

I instantly fell in love with the entity that they created.

  • squires bass sound is absolutely

    illegally filtered!!!

check the keyboard cards too and

    and that guitar player..

    howes that?

  • this is noticebly slower than the CD

  • but is the same in every live act, idk why. still is freakin awesome

  • lolol, Wakeman's hat is awesome. He looks like a pirate.

  • Igor, not Wakeman

  • Where can I get a copy of this show?

  • Very cool. Love this song.

  • men !!! thanks for posting this concert .. I was eager to watch some vids of the open your eyes tour in 1997-1998 (which is very odd, I might add), I love this line up and also I had the oportunity to write some times to Billy Sherwood and he always write me back!!. Long Live to the Yes Music!!

  • Thanks for posting, exellen quality for a bootleg. Makes me wonder why the hell they had sherwood there, he was just so useless.

  • Dude, there would be no 90s Yes if it were not for Billy. He performs (uncredited) on the best Union stuff, he played onstage for the Talk tour, he engineered the Keys to Ascension CDs and made them listenable, and Open Your Eyes was a Billy & Chris Squire CD till Yes needed an album and overdubbed on it! In the 90s, when Yes didn't care about Yes, Billy cared about Yes and kept it going heart & soul. This tour is when Steve was making Billy an just extra. They just used him and threw him away.

  • Yay! I finally get to see this tour!!!!
