Thanks for the video! I've always been a bit afraid of any type of circular saw, but I'm building a chicken coop and now is the time to get over that fear. It's hard work getting a perfectly straight cut out of a reciprocating saw!
Makes a lot of sense! When you don't have the right blade for the material that you are cutting, the next best thing is to flip the material over to get a smoother cut.
you definitly didnt wear your safety glasses when you cut, but no big deal,
it happens, lol, ive been there some times you just forget, i always remember when im cutting metal or some thing but even a piece of wood sucks in the eye
Feel it. It's circular. It's like a carousel. You pay the quarter, you get on the horse. It goes up and down and around. Circular. Circle. With the music. The flow... all good things.Yeah, alright! Well great... nice to meet ya man.
@mageknight3x And so can a knife while cutting your steak.
While cutting make the smaller of the two parts will have no pressure on it when the final cut is made. Like have it over hang your work bench. All caution should be applied when using any tool.
@DominickDiy I've noticed that some cheap types of plywood binds and pinches the blade as you cut it, much like when you cut some pieces of solid lumber...when this happens I just start the rip, put a chisel in the kerf to keep it spread, then finish the cut.
When you are going to make a cut, set the depth of the blade only about 2mm and start the cut from the end of marked line to the start. ( not like usually from the start to end... ) after that, set the blade to the maximum depth and make your cut again, but this time normal way, from start to the end.. It is recommended to use any jig as in this video.
good video... thanks!

Scribe a line with an exacto-knife on the upper side of the material and avoid splintering on both sides.

Good video. You can also avoid splintering by scoring the cut line with a razor blade.

When starting with a 4'x8' plywood sheet should cut off all four sides and square the board?
rhodeislandrasta 2 years ago
No, the board is squared off already. What are you trying to do.. Please ask on my site.
DominickDiy 2 years ago
There is a way how to get both sides clean.
When you are going to make a cut, set the depth of the blade only about 2mm and start the cut from the end of marked line to the start. ( not like usually from the start to end... ) after that, set the blade to the maximum depth and make your cut again, but this time normal way, from start to the end.. So basically always cut from the back side up and the finished 'face side' down.
dolomitey 2 years ago
Yes, if you're concerned about what the cut looks like.
DominickDiy 2 years ago
Thanks for you're help Dom, Oh one other thing?
Would this technique work with a Jigsaw perhaps?
Dimitri0809 2 years ago
For the most part, yes.
