i would recommend not touching your sand bed. that is bacteria that u need to help stable your tank. those air pockets are made from bacteria that eat nitrates and when those pocket are released from you sand bed and go to the top of the water the gas get released

@gprime22 I would do the two mp40's. that will give you the best flow. A single mp60 would do it. But, I would do two mp40's for better flow throughout your tank.

I bought a Koralia evolution a few months ago...the 1400 I think. You know what might have helped you? If you put your powerheads at different levels, before you bought all this new stuff. One near the top and one near the bottom. But hey, if you're happy that's great. Good luck man, love your videos.

a good idea for the sand to be clean is to get a few diamond gobies i have had my tank for a year and have never had to vacum but my sand is very tiny particles and your sand might be different than my sand

@Reefer4Ever ya it was pricey. It`s CDN dollars also so we have to pay more :/ Also I have no kids, a decent allowance for my hobbies, and saved months for it.....not to mention I have a second job so I can afford more toys :)

If you want something make a budget and save....or buy used, or try to DIY something similar. Unfortantely I just couldn't DIY something like the Vortech :P
