fortunately i did not get him to do this he just decieded he would and loves it
he loves showing off but he hates showing he will move in the ring all day but does not like the judges touching him typical chow you may look but not touch
I know. But I am asking becouse for example a great dane can not do agility of this kind. And that means it has something to do with what kind of a dog it is... There are a lot of dog like the Australien Shepard which do really well in agility. So I asked about the Chows... I don´t see Chows do agility often.
You're not one of these people that are looking for a breed that does well in some sport so they hopefully win lots of prizes? I mean a great dane is obviously not as fast as some smaller dogs but it really has nothing to do with breed as long as the dog has a normal body. very large dogs, or heavy dogs like bassets for example are handicapped i guess.
I have a dog so don´t think I am looking for another one. I have a newfoundland. And I don´t ask because I want to win a lot of prizes. My dog is a saving people from drowning and he has lots of prizes... I am just asking because I am curiouse. I just wanted to know because like I told, I don´t see Chow Chows doing agility often when I am at the trainigs center. In fact I never seen one in real action...
that's cool. you don't believe how much people I saw leaving comments on pages about agility like "should I get myself a australien shepherd or border collie (or whatever) because I want to be very successful.) and of course you see a lot of border collies and stuff there people know when they buy them, that they are working dogs and need to work. chows on the other hand have their own head. that's why I love the fact that this dog is actually doing it. lol
I am impressed too. But if I would get an other dog, I wouldn´t have enough time. A newfoundland needs a lot of training so he stays fit and won´t drow with the people he is trieng to safe... I couldn´t handle an other dog now. And I think there is no agility competition that can bring a higher price then when your dog rescues lifes... Thats my opinion!
I tried to get my Chow to do agility training...but alas...he is a lazy bear....He just wants to be brushed all day instead ^_^
