I've lived in Los Angeles my whole life... and I can say these exact same things about L.A! There's trashy people and bad drivers in every major metropolitan city! Nobody is telling you hang out with them!!!!
Having recently escaped Miami, this is 100% accurate portrayal. Aside from the beautiful scenery and the great food, there is no reason to ever return to Miami for longer than a few days. Usually for me, the second I get on to the Palmetto makes me regret returning.
The video doesn't offend me, it's pretty funny... But the narrow minded people that think they could survive a day in Miami are pretty annoying. This video is just poking fun at some stereotypes, Miami is an amazing place to live.
Its true.....actually the video is being pretty NICE considering how truly MISERABLE it is living in MIAMI (especially for a "Gringo") One of the biggest regrets of my life is staying here so long out of complacency....
I was born and raised in Miami, lived 22 years there, then decided to move. Lived a year in Tokyo and 2 years in NYC (still living there now), and I couldn't be happier. Visually I think Miami is beautiful, but the people there just make it impossible to live there. "South Beach" is a party town, but Miami is made up of suburbs and a financial down town area. BTW I wouldn't consider Miami diverse. It's like 98% latino. I'm latina, and I felt like I was in a bubble there.
@jitensha I agree. I would NOT consider Miami diverse either. I lived there for 3 years and moved to Maryland and now I am trying to move back to Miami Beach. I can assure you it's not for the people per say; although there are lots of great people there. It's for the weather, the beach, the ability to exercise outside every day (almost everyday) of the year. And for the TAX break of not having to pay Maryland and County taxes. I love the people watching though!!!! :-)
I love this, so much. People need to get a sense of humor. We Miamians know how to make fun of ourselves. Y si, yo hablo espaniol. Ay papi!! Also, you know you love reggaeton. Totally saw you breakin it down at the Barrister's Ball... =P
HA! i live in boca the things he says are so true and dont forget about all the retired old jewish people, that are annoying as hell but thats west boca thank god im not in west boca
YESSSS! As one who deals with idiots who come here for vacation and think they can live here on a daily basis for work, I LOVE this video. Swear I've had the conversation over 1000 times.
And all you Miami apologists, if the city is sooooo great, then why is it so transient? Nobody ever seems to be able to answer that.
Also gonna guess the apologists here aren't White. Yeah. I said it.
I laughed until I cried. I really don't understand why people would get so offended by this, but then again, this IS the internet. People need a sense of humor.
Cliches and stereotypes are funny b/c more people relate to them, i didn't think that required explanation...if I made light of, say, Bayside park, a particular club on SoBe, the folks in Homstead, or a political issue (such as the recall) fewer people would get that. Someone who's been to Miami for, say 2 days, would get a lot of these jokes
Ohh, and @cbmills. I'm pretty sure you implicitly are saying that people from New Jersey is a "negative." =D
Miami is the low-hanging fruit of cities to insult. That you could only throw together this pathetic string of stereotypes speaks a lot worse about your observational skills than it does about the city of Miami
