I dont know why so meny people underestamate rottweilers probarly with all the poorly bread ones in america but a proberly bread rottweiler will kill most pitbulls rather quickly game or not.
uh its cuz you are introducing them on leash's. a dog is three times more likely to be aggressive when they are on a leash. there was a lot of sudden tension on the leash, plus he was trapped between a strange man and dog.and you leaned over the rott which dogs dont tend to like to much and may get offended. Bad situation you put yourself in and could of been avoided by educating yourself more about dogs which you should cuz an unnuetered dog can be a challenge... But keep up the socialization!
If they knew dog body language, they would know that the brown pitbull was acting VERY dominant from the beginning with ears erect, tail straight up in the air and greeting face to face (as if to challenge). Solcialization and proper correction is key. I will state that being a pitbull has nothing to do with it..As witnessed by the more submissive white dog walking away.. he senced the tension and acted apropraitely. The rotty acted naturally and shouldnt of been scolded. DO YOUR RESEARCH.
That's so scary for the pitbull. That's why you have to watch them around dogs, they are so dog aggressive. That Rottweiler could snap that pit in half. I've seen Rotts first hand rip Pits a new one, not good not good.
@dubstepwolf I have a gigantic Rott! He's a pure German Rott and he's the biggest I've ever seen, I don't neglect his power but he grew up very loved, I think most dogs would tear my Rott up in a fight.
@theblackmirror100 Awe, I love hearing about other people's Rotts. I'm pretty sure your Rott could pretty much make any dog his bitch. Trust me. Especially a german rott? that's some scary shit hahaha
Don't want to play the smart guy, just wanna say my opinion. If the pit was just 15 min ago bitten by a ger sheperd, I don't think that it was wise letting him get so close to a rottie. If the rot would react 2 sec earlier, it would not be easy for you to get them apart.
@taekwongr Dont think your playing the smart guy or maybe I'm biased because I have the same opinion lol the pitbull isnt mine and theres that fine line when telling someone what they should or shouldnt do with their dog. But I agree he should have given the dogs some space and interracted maybe 15 minutes later to the next set of dogs we passed. I also feel he shouldnt have "ran" away with his dog after it needed the correction. thanks for the comment.
@Weepngprpht Dogs do need corrections and right away. This rottie was trying to defend the owner and should be deemed a dangerous animal. Nothing against the breed. The rottie start this the pit just wouldn't back down. Once you own a pit, you recognize one face. I don't start but WILL FINISH! ( at least if it's a pure pit.)
look like they woman has turn her dog into a slave now that rottie cant do what he wants to the pit sad people stop treating your family member like a slave
the male pit is intact as i can see he tried to mount the rottie careful with that he was trying to be dominant with the rottweiler it can cause a fight luckily you guys reacted on time needa train the pit more both beautiful dogs btw
My buddy's Rotti almost tore apart a guy's Pit when the Pit moved close to him to get petted it was weird..the Rotti's facial expression was chilling beyond belief. My Rotti is azure bred champion bloodline with a huge block head, but a definite suck for some love. He has his moments too, but knows where to stop. Nevertheless, 2 great dogs :)
well done , its always nice to see the true side of a rott , well behaved , my boy is 1 and it annoys me that because of fools these breeds of dog have a bad reputation , so sad to see them in bad press when they are truly amazing dogs ..
I didnt see a fight. The Rottweiler react because the APBT was ridding on his back..a dominant behavour. The Rottweiler was not Agressive...just saying dont do that.
I figured that would happen, not only is the male pit not fixed but he is game bred, thats in that line very strongly to dominate other dogs..a smart or up to date owner would know that, thats when why when you take game pits to like a adba show you have to have each dog on a leash AWAY from each other.
@starlaylla Thanks for the comment. By game bred do you mean for hunting(excuse my ignorance) Interesting and very good information. The pit is on his way to being clipped btw. But Ill def pass on this information. I hadnt heard the term game bred when dealing with pits..Preciate the knowledge one question does game bred have any relation to the size of the pitbull?
@Weepngprpht Game bred pits are often used for hunting yes, there the "true" american pit bull Terrier, smaller and lean built for running etc. Since Game bred are the "true" pit they can be dog aggressive since they have a lot of the fighting blood bred in them. a Game bred might weigh as much a 55-60lbs but Bully pits weighs 80-100lbs(the 100lb once are mastiff crossed) bloodlines such as TNT,Choas,Cowboy are considered game, Razors edge,Gotti are bully
@Weepngprpht Gamebred means 'bred for the game', the game being dogfighting. Starlaylla just wanted to use the word 'gamebred', since there is no possible way to tell an american pitbull terrier is gamebred just because it fits the adba/aadr standards other than having the ped. at hand. This pitbull 'might' be gamebred, but for sure is a stonecold cur. All he's doing is dominating, which is normal for these breeds. You would recognize a 'game' pit the second he lays eyes on your dog.
@starlaylla my ass any them dogs are game bro if they wear game the title wopuld say pitbulls maul rotti do you even no what game is or do you no about the scratch i asure you you do not have a game pit you couldnt roll that with a poodle game dogs can never get that close without a clash.
@spacemask Actually having a game dog doesnt mean he is down right dog aggressive. But a game dog wont back down if challenged, and if is engaged in a fight wont stop till the other dog is dead. Game dogs are very self confident and have little need to start fights for no reason, they have a tendancy to ignore.
Im sorry you feel that way. watch the video closely youll notice that the pitbull owner was not "hanging back" but had the pitbull on lead, attached to him and even while tangled (2:03)was able to correct the is dog expediently. fixing a dog does not eliminate their desire to dominate or mount another dog the best response is being aware of your dog taking advantage of opportunities to correct a behavior you dislike. Be aware of bias before making what you think is an educated comment.
@Weepngprpht I never mentioned anything about the dogo. I specifically was referring to the pitbull. A stud?? Do you not realize how many pitbulls are overwhelming shelters these days? Has your dog won any titles, what about his parents? I doubt it. Your studding your pitbull without looking at the BIG picture. There are far too many pitbulls in need of homes, what makes YOURS superior over the next pitbull, to breed MORE unwanted pitbulls?
@Lega11yBrunette0 Lol not my pit not my decision I only own the dogo. And the owner as well as many people who see the pit really enjoy his color and pattern (the red and brown is more distinct in person.) I understand what your saying but your energy could be used much more efficiently especially when you know absolutely nothing about the dog,the owner, their circumstances or my city and the pitbull population or lack thereof. However I do recognize your good intentions.

@Weepngprpht Breeding shouldnt be done with coat color and pattern in mind. What does that make the person who owns the pit? A backyard breeder, who selfishly, and *cluelessly* breeds because they like their dogs "color." I know plenty about pet overpopulation in this country, because of research.. And it doesnt take an expert to say pit bulls are the #1 type of dog that overwhelm animal shelters, and are overall the most unwanted dog.. I myself have a rescued pitbull.
@Lega11yBrunette0 Oh boy ok since you wont leave it alone Point 1- I dont live in the US. And as of two weeks ago the three shelters in my province hadnt had a pitbull male or female for atleast 2 months. 2 Im pretty sure the owner isnt a backyard breeder as he doesnt breed animals. Im Patting you on the back for having rescued a dog since it seems thats what you want. as for breeding for color, Ummm really breeders dont breed for color or pattern?(sarcasm)
@Lega11yBrunette0 i have a rescued pit also. she came to me thinner than a greyhound dog and she has finally understood that fod will be given to her 2 times a day and she no longer over eats. lol she now weighs 93 lbs and is a sweetie. i agree that pits should never be bred for "pretty colored cots" if a person wants to breed a pit then it should be for temperment. my male pit that i own only weighs 63 lbs. his father was "animal aggressive" but thankfully my pit isn't
wow....was that it waste o time
