Hey, guys. Just dropped in to see what you guys were up to. Thanks for the name drop but I agree with Bendis. Watching snarky pseudo-hipsters complain is (still) boring. I continue to wave the flag of the unapologetic fan boy. Best.
I for one really appreciate those "cut and paste" reviews. They are at times most heartfelt because they are simply the opinions of true fans and/or people that really care for the industry.
I agree with the fact that most of Marvel, save Marjorie Liu, Jonathan Hickman and Jason Aaron, is terrible. Bendis has seen better days, but I agree w/ the idea that snark is a waste of time. Snark shows a lack of creativity and for some (not you the hosts, you're great) snark shows a lack of intelligence.
I think I saw too much about the movie industry and I think it ruined it for me. I don't want comics to be ruined for me, even though it's very different. Also, hearing Quesada trying to justify the 'worst comic of all time' no matter how bad the idea was to begin with and then seems to take pride in it. I won't read ASM again becuase of that.
I think it's funny when a movie bombs, thought. It's hillarious when it cost 200 million to make. :)
I swear I would love to see what you guys thought of Dan Slott and Steve Wacker on Spider-Man. I know after seeing them interact with fans on CBR, I don't think I'd buy anything they had a hand in because the come across as really unprofessional when interacting with the Spider-man fan base.
Well comics are likes movies, a lot of politics goes into making them and like you guys said it's mostly boring shit. Writers and artist get praised a lot from the media but the small time reviewers usually tear them down and with good reason.
I can see his point in wanting more attention brought to the form.
Branching off from a thoroughly disappointing Powers #6: Bendis should be more concerned with his own writing. Perhaps a better story would result in a better review/critique. Sure, he's an omnipresent force in comic writing today but that doesn't necessarily equal great writing or worthwhile writer. He's just a gainfully employed writer. Most great novels were not market successes and were critically dismissed in their day.
Thats some of the good parts about you guys that see comic books and the industries in both in a postive and negative way. I enjoy watching these videos.

Comic books aren't the movies and I'm glad.

a kneejerk review is reading it and being it like... I like it, with no depth to your opinion. Like my crappier videos.

So...you're saying, Bendis wants people to praise his books intelligibly so that his books do not seem catered to the LCD?
