That whole thing about pc game's being cheaper may be true a couple of years after launch but from release pc games cost's 10$ more due to piracy not to mention pc game's have a delayed release so that the developer's can draw a profit from the console version's.

i have played both pc AND console games and did enjoy myself on both platforms, but found myself liking console gaming more. i dont really consider myself a fanboy, but when your limited on cash you cant just go out and spend $2000 on a really good pc plus all that fuckin hardware AND software to have a good gaming experience. plus, i grew up playing a console, and playing on the pc almost seems foreign to someone like me. If you ask me, it all depends on who you are and what your opinion is.

It is not like if you have a bigger rig or spent the most money will change a whole lot with a game. It is still the same game really just slight differences so you really get the same experience apart from maybe some added shadow effects here or some better lighting there. For example if games is what you are after then the downside to a PC is your spending a more money just for better filters on graphics and slight upgrade on performance. @jrdgzmn1 Most of my games run good in 1080p, like Crysis 2, Assassin's creed brotherhood, and CoD. Even if some of my games run native in 720p, you can still upscale it and it looks fine. Only a handful of the games I have run lower, such as Halo 3...

well with graphics are not always useful like take Minecraft it has awesome graphic and well Minecraft never runs smooth. PC games have easy reaction time and use of controls, but unless you have a custom keyboard it is hard to use some buttons that is where the controller comes in where each button is within reach. But with almost all PC games have configurable controls.

I grew up on consoles so my favorite game series isn't on pc, I'm into gran turismo. Its all a matter of what games you want to play and what system has it in my situation. But with PC people do build console emulators.
Consoles were made to simplify gaming and be cost effective for mass production. Consoles have always been more consumer friendly.
Pc has endless boundaries when it comes to hardware. Such as controllers , video cards . Screen options, as well as the pc itself. Its not limited to a keyboard and mouse to a small screen. Pc controllers are fully customizable and most good graphics cards have dvi outputs that can run an hdmi adapter or have a direct hdmi connection.

@burritoboy726 My PC can play Crysis on max settings on 6 different screens with frame rates over 40. Meanwhile, the 360 can barley manage 25 fps in Crysis on minimum settings with a 720i monitor. Pathetic. Oh, and if you play for over an hour on the 360 running on full load, you will get the RROD. However, on the PC You can run benchmarks for weeks straight without worrying about the BSOD or other problems. Kinda makes me think about which one of them is meant for gaming...
@MINICLIPGAMER Ok first of all, bringing up the RROD just makes you sound like a fucking idiot, you don't get the RROD from playing for an hour, I've play my Xbox 10 hours straight before and I've never gotten the RROD ever (wtf is FULL LOAD). Microsoft already fixed that problem anyway by releasing a newer version, and last time I checked, my graphics for my Xbox 360 are at 1080p full HD. At least the Xbox has absolutely NO viruses at all, and unfortunately... the PC does since its a computer!!
@burritoboy726 Full load means running the CPU and GPU until it cannot produce any more output. This generates enough heat for the 360 to shut down within 5-60min, no matter what version it is (the newer 360 works more efficiently). The 360 is unable to handle any modern PC game on maximum settings, this is why games are specifically made for consoles to make them work faster. The 360 is also a computer, and has more security flaws than fucking windows 3.1(no kidding). The 360 also has viruses.

PC are better: 1) have better graphics, 2) Test Drive Unlimited you can download cars from the Internet so for example you can download and drive Suzuki Swift in Test Drive Unlimited etc. 3) If you are a wii fan - you can easily get a joystick for pc ( even I had a steering wheel when I was playing racing games on my pc) 4) You can download free games from the Internet straight on your pc, which you can't do in the consoles.

So thats "not improved" Funny i thought pc gamers thought that consoles cannot run crysis. Crysis 2 uses a weaker console engine, the lighting and the textures are lower ress, it doesnt even have dx10 and there is no destruction and the maps are pretty small and linear used for streaming. I love gaming. Why do players have to side with PC or Console? I like everything from 'Nintendo Game & Watch', PC and Console, to games on Mobile phones! Gaming is great, it's 'OUR' hobby and if you don't like it all you're NOT A REAL GAMER!

@au25 No, they don't. I ran GTA IV perfectly with a Core 2 Duo E7300 (two cores at 2.66 GHz) and a HD4850. Not only that, I ran it with higher graphics settings, higher resolution (1440x900) and higher average framerate (45 FPS) than that of the consoles. My experience with Mafia 2 and Cryostasis, although short, was also very satisfactory using that processor. I haven't tried ARMA 2 though.
And even if you did need a quad-core (which you don't), an Athlon II X4 640 costs just $100.
@NewLynxS You must be running the game on medium texture settings. Truth is for high you need a quadcore and for the textures to spawn fast, you need a 896mb ram videocard. Same goes for mafia 2 regarding the quad core.
As for cryostais? i swear the game runs like ass unless your cpu is 3ghz+
@au25 I did use medium textures, since my GPU only had 512 MB of VRAM. So what? It's already at much higher visual quality than the consoles achieve.
And your statemente about 3 GHz processors doesn't even make sense. Frequency is not a measure of performance. A Regor at 3 GHz, a Wolfdale at 3 GHz, a Clarkdale at 3 GHz and a dual-core Sandy Bridge at 3 GHz (even with Hyper-Threading off on the last two) have very different performances.
@NewLynxS You do realize that gta iv on pc is jaggy as fuck and that perfomance varies from hardware to driver and diffirent games. Some times pc can be hit and miss, eg for some reason one of my pc freezes in some games. Not all game, not graphically demanding games, just some games, I checked all hardware and formated. Now it happens in diffirent games. So as i said sometimes it can be hit and miss, if not, then you propably never experiance an issue with any driver. Which is weird.
@au25 I don't know what your experience was, but I never had performance issues with any game (GTA IV included), except for Trackmania Nations United, which occasionally crashed my computer due to a DirectX error.
According to Passmark results, the 2.66 GHz Core 2 Duo E7300 (2.66 GHz) performs similarly to the Athlon II X2 255, which is clocked at 3.1 GHz, therefore being higher than 3 GHz. Then what? The Athlon II is fine but the Core 2 Duo isn't, despite the same performance?
pc does everything better. better hardware- better software- more control options- more display options- better audio and visual quality- far more features- way better games- and if theres a game consoles have that we don then we can emulate it- and instead of buying a $300 console and getting all those games and acessories that will be obsolete when ps4 and 720 come out, you already have a computer that can play the latest games. ehh but w.e, when diablo 3 comes out consoles will prob be dead
I like the freedom of the PC. A majority of games are released for the PC, you get to use console, the community and your friends are more controlled and mature, and you also get a whole new genre of RTS which simply can't be done on a console. Not only that, I think the price is well worth for a PC because it can do SO much more than just play video games, and the way it's set up you can do these things with friends you'd normally play video games with.

i have played both pc AND console games and did enjoy myself on both platforms, but found myself liking console gaming more. i dont really consider myself a fanboy, but when your limited on cash you cant just go out and spend $2000 on a really good pc plus all that fuckin hardware AND software to have a good gaming experience. plus, i grew up playing a console, and playing on the pc almost seems foreign to someone like me. If you ask me, it all depends on who you are and what your opinion is.

For example if games is what you are after then the downside to a PC is your spending a more money just for better filters on graphics and slight upgrade on performance. You spend the extra money because a PC is not just for games but a lot more. The leading system in sales determines what games are made based around. I just feel yes a PC can have better graphics but it never really uses it's full power because a game was made for something else

For graphics, PCs and Consoles have about the same resolution if you go for 1080p, it's whether or not you like being close to a small screen or far away from a big screen. For online play, I don't know what computers have, but all I know is that Xbox live is amazing. For games... sorry but the Xbox has way more games and a marketplace. For controls, it's do you prefer looking through a dozen keys or a controller

PC games have easy reaction time and use of controls, but unless you have a custom keyboard it is hard to use some buttons that is where the controller comes in where each button is within reach. But with almost all PC games have configurable controls.

I totally agree with you. Except that i think it is MUCH easier to play on PC. I would definitely play on a PC. I dont mind consoles but i prefer PC. AND I LOVE YOU FOR HAVING A GAMING LAPTOP!! I grew up on consoles so my favorite game series isn't on pc, I'm into gran turismo. Its all a matter of what games you want to play and what system has it in my situation. But with PC people do build console emulators.

Consoles were made to simplify gaming and be cost effective for mass production. Consoles have always been more consumer friendly.
Pc has endless boundaries when it comes to hardware. Such as controllers , video cards . Screen options, as well as the pc itself. Its not limited to a keyboard and mouse to a small screen. Pc controllers are fully customizable and most good graphics cards have dvi outputs that can run an hdmi adapter or have a direct hdmi connection.

Also, updating software is a good thing, and a large number of PC gamers upgrade based on the system requirements of the upcoming games they want to play, which is to say not often. Hackers exist on every platform and system, it isn't exclusive to PCs. Viruses are very easy to avoid, most people who have computers with viruses up their rears

Some games enable you to play locally with your friends, but that's not even a big enough factor to say "this is better than the other." Microsoft created the xbox because plug and play appealed more to people than building your own gaming PC, and was able to make a very large profit from the xbox. Also, the PC has a large library of diverse games, including multiplats that are on consoles.

Infact PC is amazing at playing with ANY game considering that you can play with a controller. You barely have to update your software unless you buy dated hardware. Pathetic. Oh, and if you play for over an hour on the 360 running on full load, you will get the RROD. However, on the PC You can run benchmarks for weeks straight without worrying about the BSOD or other problems. Kinda makes me think about which one of them is meant for gaming...

This generates enough heat for the 360 to shut down within 5-60min, no matter what version it is (the newer 360 works more efficiently). The 360 is unable to handle any modern PC game on maximum settings, this is why games are specifically made for consoles to make them work faster. The 360 is also a computer, and has more security flaws than fucking windows 3.1(no kidding). The 360 also has viruses.

PC are better: 1) have better graphics, 2) Test Drive Unlimited you can download cars from the Internet so for example you can download and drive Suzuki Swift in Test Drive Unlimited etc. 3) If you are a wii fan - you can easily get a joystick for pc ( even I had a steering wheel when I was playing racing games on my pc) 4) You can download free games from the Internet straight on your pc, which you can't do in the consoles.
Why buy consoles then? All I mentioned is 100% true. Go PC.

So thats "not improved" Funny i thought pc gamers thought that consoles cannot run crysis. Crysis 2 uses a weaker console engine, the lighting and the textures are lower ress, it doesnt even have dx10 and there is no destruction and the maps are pretty small and linear used for streaming. @au25 No, they don't. I ran GTA IV perfectly with a Core 2 Duo E7300 (two cores at 2.66 GHz) and a HD4850. Not only that, I ran it with higher graphics settings, higher resolution (1440x900) and higher average framerate (45 FPS) than that of the consoles. My experience with Mafia 2 and Cryostasis, although short, was also very satisfactory using that processor. I haven't tried ARMA 2 though.
And even if you did need a quad-core (which you don't), an Athlon II X4 640 costs just $100.

@NewLynxS You must be running the game on medium texture settings. Truth is for high you need a quadcore and for the textures to spawn fast, you need a 896mb ram videocard. Same goes for mafia 2 regarding the quad core.

And your statemente about 3 GHz processors doesn't even make sense. Frequency is not a measure of performance. A Regor at 3 GHz, a Wolfdale at 3 GHz, a Clarkdale at 3 GHz and a dual-core Sandy Bridge at 3 GHz (even with Hyper-Threading off on the last two) have very different performances.

@NewLynxS You do realize that gta iv on pc is jaggy as fuck and that perfomance varies from hardware to driver and diffirent games. Some times pc can be hit and miss, eg for some reason one of my pc freezes in some games. Not all game, not graphically demanding games, just some games, I checked all hardware and formated. Now it happens in diffirent games. So as i said sometimes it can be hit and miss, if not, then you propably never experiance an issue with any driver. Which is weird.

I like the freedom of the PC. A majority of games are released for the PC, you get to use console, the community and your friends are more controlled and mature, and you also get a whole new genre of RTS which simply can't be done on a console. Not only that, I think the price is well worth for a PC because it can do SO much more than just play video games, and the way it's set up you can do these things with friends you'd normally play video games with.
