  • Beautiful knife! U mentioned the blade is wide, do you remember how wide it is?

  • Hows this knife standing the test of time? Do you still use it? Any short comings with the sheath fit after a little wear?

  • @kiltedhiker No problems with the sheaths, JRE sheaths are top notch. Knife handled well, although I dont have it anymore.

  • correct me if I'm wrong, but if it's got a secondary bevel ... it's not full convex. Nice knife though, no doubt ! Nice review too.

  • @BCbikerhippy No, just like a full flat has a secondary bevel but is still a full flat. Putting the word "full" doesnt mean there is only one grind.

  • @QuietBearr Well, I'm no expert, but from the reasearch I've done, you're wrong. "Full" means exactly that, no secondary bevel. This is definately true with convex grinds, and as far as I know also with flat grind. All a full flat grind is, is a scandi type grind that goes all the way to the spine. I have seen so called full flat grind knives, that have a secondary bevel, but they shouldn't. If you look at the videos on convexing edges by BLUNTRUTH4U. Should explain it to you.

  • If I ever do a serious knife review, I want you to do the description on it

  • @Rasenkrieger thanks man

  • awesome knife!

  • thanks man

  • Great Video Bearr, lovely knife, great handle!

  • SS Corby Bolt (stainless steel) (by the way, its in the description)

  • Yeah, right after i posted that i read the description.... sorry bout that!

  • you just a got a subscription from me buddy, well done

  • thanks man! how did you find it?

  • find what? the video? it appeared in the relate videos box one time and i liked ur name so i checked it out.

if you meant the reveiw i thought you did a great job and dont see why ur not parter. if you meant the knife i dug it, its sweet as, to bad i dont have the cash

  • Yea meant the video lol.

I am not a partner because I dont have enough subs. WHen I do get enough I will likely apply, just so I can create longer videos...

  • the spyderco bushcraft is actually made of 0-1 but your right you dont see 0-1 too much

  • Thats right I forgot about the Spyderco Bushcraft... But at the same time lol, might as well get a custom for that price!

  • That's a nice blade bro. I saw Andy posted this on his forum as "going out for YouTube review." Guess I know who it was going to ;-). Looking forward to seeing the testing. You entering this into his contest? I will own one of these one day, when I'm done with college and not broke all the time.

  • No not entering, but I see lots of people are.

Good luck down the road! Hopefully they dont get more expensive as demand increases, as I know it will.

  • That is a nice knife, it looks like it would be right at home in the hand. thanks for a great review.

  • It is right at home now lol.

  • Excellent review, fantastic subject! Thanks for sharing this (and doubtless many more things) with us - you've got yourself one new subscriber :-)

  • Thanks man, I appreciate it!

  • "hehehe he said crotch...shutup" lmao!

  • Yea I knew if I didnt say something about it then some idiots would, so I decided to lol.

  • That handle looks great. You have some super knives.

  • Thanks man, this one certainly is!

  • You told me already that you don't like full zero-grind convexing (no bevel at the edge). But that thing begs for it. It I had one, that's what I'd do. I know you wont, but I just thought I'd throw that out there.

Nice look at a nice blade! Looking forward to the test vid(s).

  • I like full grinds, just not convex grinds, I have never had a full convex grind to test out before. I just dont like secondary convex bevels.

Cant wait to test it out myself! Hmm, now what to do with it to really test it out as a utility knife. I am thinking build a shelter or something. Maybe make a bow?

  • Bow making vid would be sweet. Wanna make a hunting grade one myself here pretty soon.

  • I agree. Custom means handmade, not machine mass produced. A real custom knife is one you draw, or order from a makers catalog, and the smith actually makes that knife just for you! If a machine makes a certain number (ie 250), that is a "limited production", not a custom. Mr. "I disagree" says it best when he states "I am not a knife expert". Indeed.

  • Not necessarily though, as a custom knife can be made many times, I have several customs that are not the only one in existence.

So the knife doesnt have to be made just for you, it just has to not be made by a machine

  • I think the distinction here is that a custom knife can be made "with" a machine but not "by" a machine.

  • Yea that about sums it up lol.

  • BTW, Kevin McClung's Mad Dog knives are made with O1 and I believe they are production knives but I could be wrong on that.

  • Some people consider Mad Dog custom and some dont, I am not sure if they are waterjet cut or not, if they are not then I would consider them custom.

I dont think they are waterjet cut, and thus are custom knives, even though they are made in series of knives.

  • You said crotch! Just kidding, great review on a sweet knife.

  • thanks

  • GUESS WHAT!

    I LIVE IN TENNESSEE!

  • congrats? What does that have to do with anything?

  • i'm not sure but it must be important...

  • lol

  • LOL!

  • how does this chop on rocks ?????...lol

  • I dont know, not going to find out, I am going to test it out like a bushcrafter is meant to be

  • Your definition of custom disturbs me, as I agree with part of how you define it yet 100% and the other part i completely disagree with! LOL

Anyways that is one sexy knife! Do you know what kind of finish is on the walnut handle?

  • What do you disagree with exactly? Do you think that if an automated machine made it then it is custom? In that case then every knife made by a production company is a custom.

Or do you think that if it is custom there can only be one in existence, in that case, about 75% of all customs are not longer customs.

  • No agree with you that the number of them made means nothing. But I think whether or not it is hand made or machine doesn't mean custom. To be custom it should be about features, or have something unique about it that sets it apart from a manufactured knife. Where most hand made knives are usually unique from manufactured knives so really they are all hand made customs. Although I am not a knife expert there is no reason why a cnc made knife couldn't be custom as well.

  • No, because there are many custom bushcrafters that really dont have anything differnet, or many custom hunters that really dont have anything different. It is not the design that makes them custom, if so, then many one off one piece only, hand made knives by custom makers are no longer custom either.

IMO if a machine cuts it out, then it is not custom, just semi custom. Like Entreks, they are semi-custom

  • Thats cool I see where your coming from with your view point. I work in the woodworking industry and hand made and machine made are sub sets of custom so that is kinda where my view point comes from.

  • I mean I do agree with you that numbers of knives mean nothing.

  • I have one of his bushcrafters. Mine has paduk over osage for the handle. I hotwaxed my sheath.

    Nice vid

  • thanks man, everyone should get one, to expierence the handle

  • he said croch..shut up, lol. bad ass lookin knife looks extremely comfortable

  • It is, cant wait to test it out

  • a lot cheaper than bear grylis and its better i bet?

  • I am sure it is, Bear Grylls knife is way over priced

  • Stabalized walnut crotch, huhuh he said crotch. ROFL

  • Great, not I get more of this

  • I love Andy's knives. His handles are incredible. Thanks for sharing.

  • No problem man, thanks for watching. It is really a great knife so far

  • nice looking knife! the handle sorta reminds me of the kershaw speed bump (or any of kens bumps I guess) might just be me lol. 5/5

  • I could see that, although I think it is more comfortable on Andy's

  • nice knife{ha ha he said Crotch shut up++}:)

  • LOL, I knew there would be some idiot so I just had to say it!
