Nice to see this classic concert on YT. IMHO, it is Genesis' best show & also one of the greatest concerts i've ever seen on video. I used to drive my neighbors crazy back in the 80's/90's cuz I would crank it up so loud. Haha.
I was the director for the live screens you see in this show, and my camera ops are doing the core of the show close-ups with supplemental cams for the wide stuff. I am not aware of who directed the laser disc show, but I suspect Jim Yukich, who did a lot of their videos at that time. More of my shows on youtube are Judas Priest, Sammy Hagar, and others I haven't found yet! By the way, the handheld onstage is John Matheisson, DP for Ridley Scott.
@MattSingh1 I see :) I suppose this tour had THE setlist, in a way (I know the In The Cage medley is missing from the video, but don't worry - I've got it all on MP3). :)
mes jeunes années ... les frissons .... c'est la folie .... le bonheur... depuis 32 ans que je me lasse pas de ce titre.... un monument fabriqué par genesis , ca frise le summum de la perfection musicale..... le méga top délire !!!!
Not sure if it's just the video being cut short or not. I was at several shows during this era and Phil always ended this song by getting on the drum kit. It would be brief, but very cool. Any time Phil played drums during the shows other than the duet(which was a given), it was a bonus. Chester was also one of the most underrated tour/session drummers going. He once played with Zappa, that says it all.
The song is also characterised by a rhythmic structure uncharacteristically complex for pop music, with verse/chorus sections in 13/4 (6/4 to 7/4), while the intro and bridge sections are in 4/4 and 5/8.

@MattSingh1 Even better than the Lamb Lies Down On Broadway/Musical Box medley from the 1970s and The Carpet Crawlers from the 2007 tour?
SPeacock 11 months ago
@SPeacock Yup, in my view. Neither The Lamb or MB circa 1970s, or CC circa 2007 give me goosebumps/an adrenaline rush like TIOA at Wembley '87 :)

@Jerumque I think 6/4+7/4 is better then say 13/4...but it's the same!
