@234689ify This isn't very obvious, but it turns out that the download link is the patch version number. Look in the little data table where it has "Hacked By: / Category / Mods / Patch Version"... et cetera and click on the number "1.0" under "Patch Version", and it'll download the Zip folder with the hack in it. You'll still need a way to patch the IPS file onto an NES ROM for your emulator, though.

@234689ify In order to play a ROMHack, you have to patch the IPS file onto the ROM (in this case, Super Mario Brothers) This way, it's legal for the site to distribute it.

To do this, you need: The IPS file (which you have); the NES ROM file for the original game, and a program to patch the ROM.

You can just Google search for a good ROM site. Google "IPS-win patcher", click on the first link, click on IPS-win, and click on download to get an easy-to-use IPS patcher program.

@AdamX222 (To clarify, the reason I say "this way, it's legal for the site to distribute it" is because distributing the game ROM itself is technically illegal, and there are already enough sites up for the distribution of ROMs that there's no good reason for ROMhack sites to take the minimal risk of being taken down.)

@234689ify Like I said earlier, google "IPS-win patcher" and you'll find a simple, intuitive patcher for use.

Also, just so you know, you may want to back up a copy of the original ROM and store it some place so you have it if you ever want to patch other SMB hacks.
