  • the sound is really good~ "One man band"!! Seems the software is complicate to use?

  • @accordionlearner The software "One Man Band" was easy to install and operate. Of course you must understand the fundamentals of MIDI. Like any such installation, you must match the MIDI channels of your instrument with the software. There is an online user group where you can post questions. But for me this software is just for training. Once I am convinced that my setup works and I can play it, I intend to upgrade to vArranger2.

  • @alainhammond Thank you Alain. You can of course produce videos of such performances by playing the accompaniment on your keyboards/organ and recording it separately, as I did in "Susy's Polka". But of course with your talent you can do a much better job.

  • I listened with pleasure this wonderful melodic tune

    Lovely playing

    Bravissimo Leon

    Lillo

  • @amarcordeon Thank you very much Lillo for your approval of my playing.

    Leon

  • @amarcordeon Thank yo Lillo for your wonderful comment.

    Leon

  • Now you are heading in the right direction with auto-accompaniment, using an SD4 for it is so much better and more musically interesting than the previous one sans the SD4. Good job, nice recording. Keep it up.

  • @jimgansett Thank you Jim.

  • Sounds very nice Leon

    Greetings,Amelia:-)

  • @grazamel Thank you Amelia.

  • great Leon!!! Silvia

  • @sia1807 Thank you Silvia.

  • Very nice!! I am amazed by all the possibilities...can't wait to see what you come up with next! :-) Your friend, Vonnie

  • @FunStuffAus Thank you Vonnie. Yes, there are a lot of different ways to produce music. Auto accompaniment is within the grasp of anyone at my level. After all, the computer is doing most of the work!

    Leon

  • Leon,

With your electronic expertise, it must have been difficult to stay with the straight accordion for so long. Very nice performance. I confess I don't have the patience to deal with an accompaniment, but it certainly sounds great.

    Richard

  • @bakersfieldaccordion Thanks Richard. I think at your level auto accompaniment doesn't make sense. You can come up with far better orchestrations on your own.

    Leon

  • Excellent Perfomance, this is one of my Favorite Songs, Very Well Done, Bravo !!

  • @DocBobbyD Thank you Bobby. I am happy to be able to play music in the same way that you do. But of course, I can never compete against your unique and interesting orchestrations.

    Leon

  • Muy lindo tocado Leon. Que buen sonido salio.

    Abrazo

    Jose

  • @acordeonhobby Gracias Jose. Me alegro de que te gusta el sonido. Es cierto que los instrumentos electrónicos de hoy en día tienen una calidad de sonido superior. Pero la mía sonaría mucho mejor si pudiera tocar como usted.

    León

  • Excellent rendition Leon. I'm sure you are enjoying using arranger software for musical accompaniment. A great overall sound to the tune.

    Looking forward to hearing more.

    Brian.

  • @BENNYMANS99 Thank you Brian. I am starting with low cost software to prove that my system works and most importantly that I can play it. But low cost software has problems. I hope to graduate to better software, like vArranger2, in a few months. Do you still like it?\

    Leon

  • @myaccordionhistory Yes Leon, I'm very impressed with latest improvements. The program now plays Yamaha Tyros 3 styles. Also the ability to use another sound module in conjuction with SD2/4 seems useful.

    Brian.

  • Wellcome Leon among those accordionist who play with background accompantiment!

Your play suits perfectly to this (as you wrote not an MP3) music produced by your module.

    Istvan

  • @Accordioncrasy Thank you Istvan for approving of my first attempt at auto accompaniment. It will be a while before I can play like you.

    Leon

  • @myaccordionhistory

    Leon!

You have learned this new way of playing within 2 weeks.

When I've bought my rhythm arranger (circa 3,5 years ago)- I needed several months!

The main differences (what you allready play correctly) are:

1.) you have to start every rhythm with the accord (minor/major) and not the base bass buttons.

2.) you have to play on the right side with metroneome-like accuracy! There is no possibility to slow down your speed at a diffucult part.

    Well done!

    Istvan

  • Hi Leon

This is great --beautifully played !

  • @NancyMbWpg Thank you Nancy. Since you play keyboard yourself, you might be insterested to know that I am using the style called "Swing Waltz 1" that comes standard on the PSR8000 keyboard. Using arranger software I am able to download and use all the standard styles from popular keyboards.

    Leon

  • @myaccordionhistory

    Hi Leon

Yes those tools really nicely fill in the background.

I haven't used them as I'm determined to play all my background music --and altho the right hand is not too bad --the left still remains a challenge. Thanks for your reply.

  • @NancyMbWpg Bravo to you for playing everything yourself. I admire that. I wish I had the talent to do the same. Of course I do intend to continue with my accordion courses, and I expect that over time I will improve. But once in a while I like to have fun trying different things like auto accompaniment.

  • What a lovely video, Leon! Your choice of voices, sound quality and accompaniment - all are excellent! Truly wonderful!

    Lorna

  • @accordiona Thank you Lorna. It's amazing how much you can dress up a simple melody with a little MIDI accompaniment. My setup is still experimental. I hope to upgrade to better sofware soon.

    Leon

  • Wonderful performance Leon, with a nice clarinet voice. May I ask a question? - You say accomp is via computer driving the Ketron module. Can the accordion be connected directly to the Ketron as I thought that the Ketron had rhythms and band accomp? Could I connect my Roland to my Yamaha PSR S900 mid keyboard and use the bass to work the Yamaha's bass & rhythm accompaniment?

I was going to write separately, but thought this may be of interest to others as well.

    Mike

  • @ImaLanger Good question. I certainly can connect my Roland directly to my Ketron SD4, but it is a low cost model that contains only voices, not accompaniment styles. However, by connecting the FR-7 to a MIDI interface on a computer, and then connecting the computer to the Ketron, I can accomplish the auto accompaniment in software. It's a partially virtual instrument. You probably may very well be able to do the same with your PSR S900.

  • Brilliant Accompaniment

    Kev

  • @Accordionman331 Thank you Kev for listening. I'm glad you liked it.

    Leon

  • What wonderful piece of music and you play it really perfect. Thanks you for posting it. Es war ein Vergnügen für mich diese Musik zu hören.

  • @6Heureka Thank you Jochen for your approval of this arrangement. Also thank you for the nice comment in German. You are reminding me that I must study my German.

    Leon

  • I love this Leon. Now I want a Roland with auto accompaniment! This sounds fantastic. Very well done. I am amazed. Have a good weekend. Best wishes, Fran

  • @AccordionLadyMi Thank you Fran. I've wanted to do this for a long time, but I had to overcome some technical challenges. I now have it basically working, but I will need to upgrade my arranger software to do some more serious work. I look forward to posting more popular music played in this manner, but I must also not neglect my accordion lessons.

  • Amazing!! Surely amazing!

  • @MADDOG6400 Thanks. I appreciate the encouragement.
