  • Thank you for the tribute video... & thank you for the posting!! ... If interested, please check out my video and song, Soldier Boy (search Stu Aspinall). I wrote the song after being inspired by the story of a young soldier who came home fighting PTSD and eventually lost that battle. I am donating proceeds from every iTunes or cdbaby.com song download to programs that help soldiers and their families fight PTSD. Thank you for your support! ...and Thank you to soldiers everywhere!

  • To all those heroes who put their lives in danger for the sake of others: Please understand that people with cushy lives and little stress can also suffer from depression and anxiety... if ANYONE has the right to be depressed or anxious it's YOU who have served in a war and seen and done things no one should have to. PLEASE PLEASE GET SOME HELP, there is no shame in it. We're behind you, whatever it takes. different battlefield, worthy of a fight.

  • u know they are right they are not alone there are tons of soilders that i know that need help and get it ant it realy help so go get that help and help ur selfs and ur familys please just do it this video is so true every word of it that is y i love it

  • Soliders are some of the only True heros left! They are not alone....i know myself and so many of us out there pray for them everyday! It takes a much stronger person to admit they need help than to just bottle it up inside. Thank you to each and every solider out there we honor, support and admire all you do!

  • If I could express how I feel I would. I am one of the many that wouldn't get help. I thought only the weak and crazies have PTSD. I was a scout in OIF I came home went through got married three months later we separated I also separated from the army at this time drank for three years 24/7 but I eventually just couldn't hold the world on my shoulders anymore. So I got help please learn from my mistakes and just go be seen if you think you show signs and support people who do need to reach

  • I'm not sure this is appropriate ... but it'd be less appropriate to say nothing ... so:

  • Wicked video. I heard of this for the 1st time just a little while ago, never really thought of it till it was brought to my attention by accident and to think it was like DUH no !@#$ it's been around since wars started why not now..!!!

just adds another sad perspective on the sand truth of what the reprocution and sacrifice that our military are giving up for our freedoms..!!!

Thanks Ladies and Gentlemen of our military....!!!!

YOU ARE NOT ALONE, Misery Loves Company..!! I know..!!

  • I am So Proud and Honored to Call you not an aquaintance, but "FRIEND", you ARE NOT ALONE!!!, I met Dave Murphy down in South Port, NC., and what a wonderful man, and father. I shook his hand, and I know what my husband "does not speak about from Beiruit", I have seen tears roll down his face, & cries in his dreams or screams. And I looked at Daves smile on his face and thought, God Bless this man.NO,You are NOT ALONE AND THERE IS HELP...GOD BLESS WITH & ADMIRATION, THANKS, Deborah T. Meiners

  • We are proud to service U.S. Veterans by providing FREE art classes & art therapy in the beautiful state of Arizona. Thank you Veterans we want to give back to you!

  • Very well done! This will help people recognize this disorder and to seek help for family members and/or friends!

    Thanks,

    Terry C RN MHA BSN

  • I am so thankful for the hard working military personnel that put their lives on the line day after day fighting for our freedoms. Thank you for your commitment to liberty. I watched a movie about military personnel and PTSD this week. We are so sheltered in the states. I see protesters who would run away crying if they were being shot at. Thank you for your courage. You are not alone.

  • This is very dear to me also .. Have close friends with PTSD......Thankss Dave you are awesome.!

  • Oh the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but to pour them all out, just as they are, grain and chaff together, knowing that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then, with the breath of kindness, blow the rest away.-----writer George Eliot

  • i wanna say thanks to all the soldiers fighting out there to keep us safe and protected here at home. WE are here for you. YOU are NOT alone.

  • I just want to express a sincere, heartfelt, THANK YOU, to all of you serving our country and to your families...you are not alone. I appreciate all you've done and continue to do everyday. God Bless you all and may God Bless the USA!

  • After 15 years career as a young scout /sniper with the US Army Rangers...later after healing, I became a combat medic, and then a SAR paramedic. 2 helicopter "accidents" and a parachute malfunction. 30 years later, 6 bad relationships (3 divorces), numerous bouts with the law, attempts at suicide, I was finally diagnosed with severe PTSD. I am lucky to have finally found a woman that is pushing to get my proper treatment. Every day I pray for todays troops. I am one of the walking wounded

  • I don't have the equipment to make a picture and send it but I'd like to, once again, express my gratitude for the men and women, who are in harms way, protecting the freedoms I enjoy.

I've always hated the fact that the Leftist Media denigrates you and I wish you the best, overcoming whatever problems you come back stateside with.

  • I love you guys for what you are doing, bringing more awareness to this long standing issue

  • The actual number of soldiers that are affected by PTSD is 1 out of 5. The month of May is Awareness of PTSD month. A lot of soldiers are afraid of the stigma of having a mental illness but don't realize that the symptoms are not going o go away: headaches, nightmares, flashbacks, fear of places & noises, sudden anger &/or uncontrolled emotions, insomnia, lost time, turning to drugs or alcohol just get worse. There's help out there & you don't need to suffer alone.

  • It's very sad that our Canadian military do not do more to assist returning soldiers. They should not have to ask for help...because to them, sadly, it is seen as a weakness. It should be automatic, that regardless of how you appear when you return home, there are mandatory talk therapy sessions. This way, there is no shame, which for some reason, so many feel.

  • @jennyhorton - Thank you...Prayers and thanks mean the world to me and to James. When he arrived home, we had flags and banners welcoming home at the airport along with the local chapter of the VFW. He was overcome and as his mother, I was overwhelmed at the strangers who came up to him and either shook his hand or hugged him. These heroes deserve all we can give them!

  • As a mother of a Marine combat vet who returned from Iraq with PTSD - you are not alone. He got help and you can too. And for the family members of our wonderful solders, just be there to support them. My son will never be the same again and it is a daily process, but there is light at the end of the tunnel and he gets a little better every day.

  • Je Me Souviens. WE ARE NOT ALONE!!!!

  • I fought in Iraq, 2003-2004. You are NOT alone. Get to your local Vet Center -- they understand.

  • I'm not sure why this video has a dislike??? I lost my friend jesse huff last year due to pain & ptsd. I hope that we can get these men & women that sacrafice so much the help they need so that no one else has to lose a love one the way that we lost jesse

  • When I write letters to the troops I incorporate them responding to me, as pen pals, to turn to. I want to hear from them, help them. I know ptsd is an issue worthy of such support recognition. I'm very thankful there is a help line

  • You should all be proud of having served, you should care enough about yourself to get help if you need it or help your friends who do. Your mental health is more important than anything else you have family & friends who love you and many of us who don't even know you who appreciate all you have done. We want you healthy and happy so you can enjoy the freedoms you fought to help protect.

    God Bless You

  • My son is 22 years old and has PTSD, he was hit by an IED in Iraq...He is getting the help he needs and I hope he knows that I always have his back...I, too, am a Gulf War Veteran...I trust that all these young heroes know they are not alone!

  • @Tiggersoftballplaya I am praying for you and your son - thank you so much for everything you both have done for us all. God bless you and keep you.

  • This is such a great idea! I'm a former S/O of a USMC Marine who was diagnosed with PTSD I am a huge advocate for PTSD awareness, wear my Ribbon proudly and even went back to school to get my degree in Psychology so I can work at the V.A. Hospital and specialize in PTSD!! I just emailed you my supportive message picture!

    THANK YOU!!

  • Please ask for help and know that you are nit alone.

  • Thank you for initiating this amazing and much needed project. As a military wife, I advocate for PTSD awareness- because too many of our soldiers are part of the 90%. It is time to break the barrier, shed the stygmatism, and encourage our military members and their families to seek treatment! Asking for help is not a sign of weakness but of strength! I have shared this on my fb page: Military Wives Matter: Support for Today's Military Spouse, and I have tweeted at LoveRMilitary.

    Thank You!

  • You are not alone!...please ask for help and know that God has blessed you!...

  • God Bless out Troops

  • My Husband has been Diagnosed with PTSD, He is a vietnam vet. No one knows the hell he goes thru but me. I have to wake him many nites from his screaming and crying, He speaks the vietnam language in his sleep but can't during his wakening hours. He has been under treatment for several years, A lot of people take him wrong because he is quick to anger, for this he is criticized often, He is the most mistaken person I have ever seen, I know some things he has been thru and it is disgusting. Sosad

  • @mesegars I am praying for you and your husband. Please thank him for enduring so much on our behalf, and thank you for standing by him so faithfully. May God bless and heal you both.

  • I am a civilian with PTSD, I would not wish it on anyone else especially our soldiers, they have been through enough. God Bless :)

  • A heart felt thank you to ALL our soldiers. I support you all. Come home soon and safely, and if you need help, remember you are not alone. You are all heroes.

  • Thank you to ALL the soldiers who have served and are currently serving. You are not alone!! We support you!!

  • i have what they call complex PTSD . which is like normal PTSD . normal PTSD is a single traumatic event while complex is lots of traumatic events over the course of years . i went through this as a mentally disabled child with brain damage so i respect the soldiers who risk their lives in the service of others . our governments need to help these heroes with this condition

  • We need to do all that we can do for our men and women who serve our country, and doing so are gripped by the Post Traumatic Stress disorder, and we need to let them know that they are not alone through this. Love our military, and let them know !!!!!!!!!!!!!!. God loves you and so do I. Your sister and friend in Christ. Linda D. Moore

  • THIS VIDEO IS VERY TRUE. I KNOW BECAUSE I AM 1 OUT OF THE 6 THATS RETURNED HOME & WAS DIAGNOSED WITH PTSD. I WAS ALSO DIAGNOSED WITH MODERATE TO SEVERE DEPRESSION. IT TAKES A WARRIOR TO ASK FOR HELP!! I DID

  • @DOCBYRD1 Thanks for the post :)

  • @ThankasoldierNet My cousin had PTSD and committed suicide because of it..

    God Bless You

    He was in Vietnam

  • @DOCBYRD1 Thank you for what you have done for us all. I am praying for you. I don't know how you feel about God, and I don't want to push anything at you, but I know from much experience that He can and does help with PTSD and depression. Know that you are loved, even without knowing you.

  • @DOCBYRD1 I have it with depression and anxiety. I thank you for your fellow service. We made history.

  • i WAS DISCHARGED with an other than honorable due to PTSD, which led to some poor choices. im proud to say IM NOT ALONE.

  • @TheActionheat I am so sorry things went that way for you. Please know that I love you and I am praying for you. May God bless you and your life beyond your wildest imaginings. He is able, if you are willing. Thank you so much for everything you have done for us.

  • @jennylnorton THANKS i sometimes think of suicide; yet, ???s always pop up. i made a attempt back in 2006, however im here for a reason.

  • @TheActionheat You are definitely here for a reason, and, while I know it seems so impossible at times, if not all the time, you can beat this. God loves you, and He wants to heal you of this. It takes time, work, and faith, but it does happen. You are special and needed. Remember that, and if you need to talk more privately, jennylnorton@hotmail.com. I know that may seem creeper-ish, but I love helping people talk through things and move past them. :)

  • We love you and honor you! You are our heroes! You are NOT alone! We pray for you every day, to be safe during deployment, whole when you come home, surrounded by support and love, and help when you feel bad. God Bless You ALL.

  • Yes reach out to help the veteran...and their families!! Sons...daughters, mothers, fathers and wives who received their loved one back whole perhaps but with their minds so badly tortured. PTSD is contagious!! Help the veteran and help their families too!!! This means more than handing them a prescription but truthful, healing therapies that include their families...who are deeply hurt too!!! Yellow ribbons are nice but make a sacrifice for those who sacrificed so much!!

  • please seek help for PTSD as my dad suffered from it after being in WW2,he had to have shock treatments,he took to drinking and beating his family,we all went thru hell,

please i beg you be strong and seek help,YOU ARE NOT ALONE

    Linda Kennedy (canada)

  • @micmic763 I'm so sorry you all went through so much. I'm praying for you all - may God bless and heal all of you.

  • Please seek help for PTSD as my dad turned to drinking after WW2 making him unbearable to live with,he had to have shock treatments and went thru hell as well as the family,I support you all fully and thank you for everything you have done for us ,please don;t be afraid to ask for help, stay strong

    Linda kennedy.

  • God bless and protect our troops and our veterans. Their sacrifices have made our lives possible.

  • I myself am a serving british soldier, as is my sister. My dad suffered from PTSD after serving in the First Gulf War - he frequently has nightmares, but with our support, he knows that HE IS NOT ALONE!

I will support my sister, and hope that others will support me as i help in the protecting of our country!

I AM PROUD OF WHAT I DO, I AM PROUD TO CALL MYSELF A SOLDIER - NO MATTER WHAT FATES BECOMES OF ME!

  • @HLRadford Thanks for the post and shout out to all our forces in the UK as well

  • Knowing when to say "I need some help" is a true sign of strength and independence. You all have been asked to do so much for so many other people, now it's time for you to take care of yourselves - just ask because "we are here for YOU" now.

  • Please seek help. Also, great book "I Can't Get Over It-a Handbook for Trauma Survivors" by A. Matsakis. All about the effects of PTSD with resources for help, etc.

My husband is a Vietnam vet and is just now, 42 years later, dealing with the effects of PTSD. It almost ruined our entire family and lives. With help, he is doing so much better. You are never too old to get help and live the rest of your life as you should, proud, happy and safe.

  • Stay strong but don't be afraid to ask for help if and when you need it. The American people are behind you and beside you when you need us. Thank you for your service to our great Country. Your service truly means something to us and we greatly appreciate it. We are there for you and your families. God bless and peace be with you.

  • the dislike person must be Osama Bin Laden

  • You are NOT ALONE!!! We belong to you, and you fought for us! Now that you're back, YOU belong to US, and so many want to help. Just reach out and ask!

Praying for you all with love and respect. Thank you so much for fighting for your country!

  • My friends brother died the day before Mothers Day. I heard that he had been struggling since returning from afghanistan in december 2010.

  • @sarahtrick531 I'm so sorry. I'm praying for you and your family.

  • I wear red every Friday to show my support for our troops. Have been for 8 or 9 years. Pray for them every night & throughout the day!!!! Also, for their families.

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAS SERVED OR ARE SERVING THIS GREAT COUNTRY,AMERICA!!! GOD BLESS YOU & YOUR FAMILIES FOR YOUR SACRIFICES!!!!!!!!

  • I served! But not where you served! I was a part timer (Militia)! I trained soldiers, Basic, Infantry Trade and Leadership Courses in preparation to go on missions. I have a friend who has been a friend from 1958. He just retired and was diagnosed with PTSD. I hardly recognize him and it breaks my heart. One who was so strong for so many years sits in my arms crying like a hurt child. He bears scars but the ones that you can't see hurt us most of all. I am so very glad he is getting help!

  • Had girlfriend whos son-in-law killed himself; hung himself in closet. His wife and 9 month daughter found him. He had been doing alot of drinking! He never said anything was bothering him, but he and his wife had been in Afiganistan(?)Nearly killed the family and friends and his other 2 children by a previous marriage. Had we known he might have PTSD maybe this might not have happen. But maybe we can do something to help others before a tragedy happens to some other family. RIP DAVE

  • thanks to sites like yours to address all issues our soldiers are having. i will share and have subscribed. thank you again :)

  • Don't be afraid of the stigma, seek help ASAP. That stigma is nothing compared to the world of hurt you'll experience without this help. I was once involved in a violent carjacking & abduction. They were going to kill us. Eventually released & some months later, I found a psychologist who specialized in PTSD. With weekly sessions over a period of months, we licked it. You can and will get better if you commit to appropriate treatment. I am living proof that it works. Don't be afraid just do it.

  • really great video and I will definitely share it with everyone including my family in Canada who know fellow soldiers serving too.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU for your service to our country. We love you and praise you for your strength and love of country. You have rights when you come home to seek any help you need. A grateful nation will make sure you are well taken care of. Please seek any help you may need. Very proud of all of you. THANK YOU AGAIN.

  • If you only knew how many of your fellow Americans think of you & pray for you every day, you would know that you are never, ever, alone. I am so very proud of the men & women in our Armed Forces, who not only stand guard for Our freedom, but put all they have to protect people all over this world. May God bless you & keep you, & Never hesitate to ask for Any help! You Earned it! You are entitled to it! I am so very proud of every one of you!

  • To all our servicemen, women who constantly give All of themselves to provide us with a better world to live in. Thank you. Look after yourselves and each other you are never alone when you are in our thoughts and hearts every second of every day. Love to you all

  • There are not any words to tell the soldiers how much my family and I appreciate them, my grandson's and I pray every morning for God to protect and keep the soldiers safe and help them to come home. May God bless and keep each of the soldiers and thier familys in his hands : Dottie

  • To all the men and women who so selflessly defend our freedoms, and for their families who sacrifice so much-"THANK YOU !!!" You are in my heart and my prayers daily.

You give so much, please never be ashamed to seek help. The things you experience daily are things no human should ever have to see. We are so grateful and so very proud of you!

  • I cant imagine ever being a soldier. God bless them and their families

  • It's hard to appreciate what soldiers have to go through when you haven't experienced it for yourself, but we owe you an awful lot and I can assure you we're so grateful. Thank you for everything.

  • I love this. Our military has long needed more support at home, when they come home. They are all in my prayers always. Thank you, each & every one, for giving us our freedoms that we enjoy today. THANK YOU!

  • This is a wonderful reminder of an issue that has been present in all armed conflicts, but is more important today since the evolution of more sophisticated methods of killing and maiming have evolved. I and many others were in similar positions 40 years ago in Vietnam, and I believe that I speak for all when I say that "You Are Not Alone". Do not be silent as too many of us were...there is help!!

  • You are all on my mind, in my prayers, and forever in my heart. God's love surround you, bless you, and keep you now and always. WE SUPPORT YOU...YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

  • Thank you to all who have served, are serving, and will be serving soon.

If any one dislikes this video, then they dislike AMERICA AND HER PROTECTORS.

  • I am a marine Mom I pray for all the soldiers every day.

  • Soldiers are trained to focus on their objectives - not their problems. Problems are what soldiers overcome, right? Well if they were simply walking and talking - yes - However the death, killing, long hikes, loosing friends - trying to help - and getting diss'd because they are soldiers - well this causes more problems than can be borne - a gunshot or a hike over the mountain does not take care of the memories imprinted on their cells. They need our support love kindness, respect, encouragement

  • I justed to let all of u know that u will never be alone we will always stand behind and besides u and support u 110%

  • God bless you, you are thought of every day by me, and always in my prayers.

  • Please, never feel you are alone, or that no one cares, or that you have no options, nowhere to get help. My husband is a Vietnam vet with PTSD, so I know there are VA groups & many, many veterans - at the very least - who are here, there, everywhere, ready to help. Know, too, we all appreciate you!

  • You are not alone. It is ok to ask for help!!! We love and thank you for all you do and have done!!! Many prayers and lots of love. (((HUGS))) Penny

  • Please seek help. My father lived with PTSD for 40+ years before seeking help. He is a great man but lived through hell and brought it home with him. He was too afraid to talk about it and tried to drink the memories away. It did not help. Please, use your strength to seek help. Don't wait like my father did. It cost him and his family dearly.

I support you all. Thank you for all you have done for us.

  • As a wife of one of the PTSD soldier who didn't have a chance to ask for help and got deployed again, I wish someone will pay more attention to that problem and remind those soldiers to do it for their family. Before they know things will get out of control. It is so much easier to deal with it together while it still can be controlled.

    Sanja Newman

  • If tears could build a stair way and memories lane I’d walk that way to heaven and bring your boys and girls home again, while they are in heaven looking down on you with pride they would ask that you be safe while you fight and work so hard to give us all a world we can all feel safe, you will all never be forgotten and please remember while you are far from home you are thought about every day by so many, take care, my your own God look after you all.

    Patrick Monaghan says THANK YOU.

  • Awesome video and a worthwhile project! My Father-in-law suffered with this from WWII and finally after years of trying got a diagnosis and a pension, but not until the late 90's, and only a few short years before he passed away. I hope that awareness is spread and people are diagnosed faster so they can get the help they need. We owe it to them all. And they owe it to themselves. Thank you

  • Awesome video, I will be taking a photo tomorrow and sending to you-
