What's the closest it can shave? I want something that can shaved down to 0.2mm length for a stubble look - a lot of beard trimmers are much longer than this on their shortest setting.
I'm not sure how many revolutions per minute its motor has, I can only say that I have a pretty thick beard and this trimmer goes through it like a hot knife through butter. Also as the time goes by, the batteries tend to lose its capacity. So, I suggest you rarely use it while plugged into mains. The battery is not manually replaceable and repairing at the service center costs almost as buying of a new device.
English isn't my native language. So I speak a bit awkwardly and with noticeable accent. I didn't want to spoil this vid.
Besides, I guess I showed everything that “unboxing” video implies. I hadn’t use this product before shooting this vid, so I wouldn’t share any experience regarding its performance. Only the general view and some tech specs.
Well, it cuts any hair pretty well (head, chest, armpits etc.). But you should remember that initially it's not designed to be used for any other purpose than beard trimming. Thus it may cause a malfunction the seller/manufacturer won't agree to take a responsibility for.
Hey, this was a very helpful video in choosing to buy this trimmer, but I have a question about the product: At 2:50 when you pop the cutter assembly does it stay in its place? Because when I do that with mine, when it goes full on the back it just pops from his place (one of those two little legs pops from his socket). I wanna know if it's something general or I should replace it cause i have it since yesterday. Hoping for a good answer, thanks in advance!
Yes, it stays in its place, but only for a certain angle. At 2:54 and 2:57 you can see the widest angle of opening, when the cutter stays vertical. If you keep pressing further it will pop out. I siggest you don't do that, cause it may damage the socket or break those tiny legs. When the cutter is in vertical position it gives you enough space for cleaning your trimmer with the small brush.
But for some purpose they did sell it in different type of box (blue) on a UK market. As far as I know the product inside was absolutely the same. Even though the UK version of the official website did advertise it as having titanium coated blades, MB320C has ceramic coated blades no matter of the market territory.
@DrSequoia I need your help, lol.. When my beard gets to a certain length I want to shave it, but I don't want to get rid of it fully.. I just want the stubble again, but not to be clean shaven. So does this shaver have adjustable lengths at which you can shave at? Thanks..
First of all, it’s not a shaver it’s a trimmer. It’s intended to trim your beard and never shave it off completely. So, it’s just impossible to be clean shaved with this device.
It has 9 adjustable lengths of trimming: from 1 mm up to 18 mm (if I’m not mistaken) so you’re able to choose the most proper one in order to fit your style.
Well, it has no definite purpose. You may use it wherever you find it to be useful.
Initially it was intended to be used at the areas where the main trimmer is too wide to be accurate: corners of the lips, shaping inside the goatee, etc.
But, to be honest, I never use it since I prefer to shape my beard with a disposable blade.
Nearly bought one of these but I think I stick to shaving once a week with gillette the best a man can get. Besides I look stupid with a beard or dodgy I was thinking about the I trim by babyliss for stubble control but I'm really on the fence.
1. i don't find it possible to get a 1 day stubble look with the comb on, even on the 1st level, tried shaving with the comb on, and it hardly took off anything from my 4day stubbles, maybe a little and made it look like 3day stubble...
so you gotta take the comb off.. or am i doing somthing wrong?
2. its very noisy, and its especially irritating when you shave close to your ears, i even suspect it may damage your hearing... even got a little headace
1. Every man has unique stubble as well as the speed of its growth. So 1 day stubble for on man may be a 3 day stubble for other. Some men shave once/twice a week, others need everyday shave or the look like a bum.
But in case of trimming, you need to grow your stubble at least twice as long as you want it to be after trimming. I.e. if you want it to be 2 mm you better grow it up to 4 or 5 mm, otherwise trimmed stubble will be too uneven.
@tupacshakur5633 This remington was a replacement to my babyliss i trim. The babyliss was good initially, but after a month or so, it just didn't seem to leave good stubbles.
Thanks! Your video helped me repair my trimmer! The metal clip (visible at 2:57) had shifted position, stopping the motor turning smoothly and preventing the cutter from being reattached. I couldn't see what was wrong until I compared mine to your video.
I trimmed at the sideburns zone and I have to say that it leaves about 1 mm or a bit less, but still pretty noticable. I don't know how much would it left at the other face areas. But it won't give you a totally clear shave anyway.
Regarding the charging time - it's hard to say since it has no "charged" indicator (only "mains" and "recharge" ones). The "out of the box" charging takes about 7 hours. And it held it for about 30 min.
Well, it's quite hard to say, 'cause I've never tried to shave my bristle completely with this trimmer. I can only say that it works very well in the moustache zone, much better than my previous trimmer Braun Cruzer 3 - it was just to bulky to trim short right under nose.
But if you want a clear cut I'd suggest you use a full electric shaver or a razor.

@group4bs
I would say 0,5-1 mm is the closest it can get.
So if you're about to create a 5 o'clock shadow, this is not the best tool for you.
But if your about to create a cool looking beard (whether it's goatee, spanish, van dyke, etc.) it comes to be quite helpful.

Depends on how fast your beard grows.
Your 5 o'clock shadow may be a 2 day bristle for some other man. And vice versa.
You gotta try to find out.
I suggest you trim on the 1 setting. And then, if the result seems to long, try to trim with plastic cap off.

Can this be used open blade? or does it have to have the cutter cover on it??

Cool, sounds really powerfull.
The one i use at the moment is a Remington in blue simular to this, but it runs on two AA batteries, which is hassle.
It's getting nakkered, so i need to replace it, and this is perfect.
Remington has allways been no1 for me, and Wahl.
£25.00, you can't go wrong.

2. I don't find it to be loud at all. I mean, it's definitely not a silent one, but I have Braun Cruzer 3 and it’s obviously louder.
If your device really makes too much noise I’m afraid there must be some kind of malfunction with it.

You can get one for 19.95 british pounds from Amazon.co.uk or from e-Bay.
I've got mine for 40$, but that's how much it costs in my country.

would you recommend it for shaping sideburns and beard edges ?
alhassanimustafa 2 years ago
It works pretty well for sideburns, but not that good with the beard.
Personally, I use a razor for this purpose. It always gives the best shapening since it cuts closer to the skin.
But of course it dpends on the skin and bristle type, that is individual. So you may still give it a try.

did you use it without plastic guard on? how long it take to get full charge.
