Why would the cameras be obliterated? This bomb explodes at about 160m above the ground. Everything that's within the fireball, will de destroyed, all the things you see there, though, like trucks, and trees, were situated further away. .. So if the heat doesn't destroy it, only the pressure wave can do it, and well, simply build a solid tower of steel or something, and it'll easily withstand the blast! I think you have wrong Idea of an atom bomb...

That's not a mini atomic bomb. That's a full-size gun-type fission bomb. Inside the bomb, at detonation time, it uses explosives to shoot two pieces of uranium into each other. Once the two pieces collide, they reach critical mass and start a chain reaction, aka an explosion.

I wonder if this was real, given that amount of propaganda the US put made during that period. The components in the bomb would have to stay intact and functioning after the initial firing of the gun. And what determines when it detonates? If it's supposed to detonate on impact, then firing the gun could set it off. It it detonates on a timer, the timer would have to survive the firing. Where can I see the blueprints for this weapon? :)
