I remember when this was first aired on TV back on March 3, 1982. I think this TV film is still relevant to this day. A movie with a great anti-drug message. Diana Scarwid was awesome as Eileen Phillips, the high school guidance counselor. She is what more schools need in our country, she is willing to face the problem, cut through all the apathy. I do not know why some people make fun of Helen Hunt's character jumping through the window, messed up on angel dust, she could have died.
@jeffman52001 A great cast in this film, Helen Hunt, Sam Bottoms, Doug McKeon, Tom Atkins, Art Hindle, and others. This movie is still relavent to this day. I have "Desperate Lives" on DVD, bought it at Amazon.com
i graduated hs in 1983 in nj. when this came out we all laughed our asses off at it. its hillarious. like 99% of all tv movies it is over-the-top bullshit. there was drugs, but nothing close to this. its propaganda. people my parents age and older ate this stuf up though. great entertainment though. at the time PCP was the obsession in the media and on weekly dramas and cop shows. anyone who went near it freaked out and thought they could fly off the nearest roof. after crack it was forgotten.
I'm gonna DMCA u bitch! haha just kidding.
