@djaward Umm.... I was slightly terrified haha!! Point 1 - I completely agree... I just didn't have intro versions to some songs at this point as I'd only been DJing a few months. 2. I've pretty much taught myself how to DJ so I didn't really know much else at the time. I now have more knowledge on transitions and try to mix it up and do as many different transitions as possible during a set.
@djaward 3. I used a loop at the end of Wiz Khalifa - Roll up but it was only 2 beats. I have used the loop function a few times in my mixtape... they can sound very clean. 4. I'm trying to learn numerous different scratches, the baby as you say is very basic and I don't intend to stick with just the one! I appreciate your comments though, thank you very much :-)
For real, don't listen to ANY of the negativity in the rest of the comments.. You've got a great ear for songs, your transitions are pretty good, and you sound better than half the club DJs out there already anyway. Seriously... Just keep practicing and you'll be spinning clubs in no time...
People put WAY too much time in criticizing WHAT kind of equipment you're using and HOW you're using it. Those are the losers in the club staring at the DJ booth the entire night instead of partying...
@mixxedjustright LOL!!! Awww thank you so much. It's nice to have people's support. I understand that this video is very basic but it was a starting point and I want to continually improve. Hopefully I might make it big one day with lots of dedication and practice!!!
I'm resident DJ of 3 local clubs and you're already better than most club dj's in my area lol. Don't think you have to beatmatch every song - dont be scared to drop it on the 1, scratch it in, or whatever else you happen to think sounds good. great work!
@djthedadi Oh wow thank you :-D I know what you mean, I agree, I can drop songs and scratch them in etc it's just getting the confidence to do it in front of a crowd! But I'm improving and I will get there!!
My opinion, Serato and Traktor is NOT for the purpose of using waves to beat match. Beat matching should all be done by hearing and feel. If you can beat match by hearing, then you should be using your eyes to read the crowd throughout your entire set. Serato was invented so that us DJs don't have to lug around heavy ass records anymore. That being said, that was a pretty solid set and I'm glad to hear you mix by ear! Keep it up!
@ycho72 Sure thing I totally agree. I appreciate the comments. I've got far to go but I'd like to think I've improved quite a bit since I did this video, busy doing my second mixtape now :-)
nice... very good song choices...definitely a good choice.. see you using what i assume are the the CDJ 850s - know that serato now supports them as controllers.... so you can select songs etc using the players
also just a suggestion... you can also get yourself a pair of novation dicers.. and place them on your players....
@vjwiz Hey, thanks for your comment. Yes I've seen people using dicers, I'm not sure how they work but hopefully I will get some and suss it out! Glad you like the tracklist :-D
We need more female DJ's on the scene. Well done to you for learning this much in a short space of time. I started on vinyl 10 years ago, and I STILL learn new things each week now! you're also a naturally beautiful girl, I think you'd be very successful DJing on the VIP/celeb circuit, as most of those events are RnB/commercially led xx
@SpeakerChicas Geez, what a compliment, thank you! I'd love to master vinyl's also. I've had a go on them a few times and I think they are fab. Have to be very light handed though which is the most difficult thing to crack coming from CDJ's where the pressure you apply doesn't make a difference! Anyhow, I have probably only learnt 1% of what there is to know about DJing, but as long as I keep trying and people keep enjoying my work then that's the main thing!! Aww bless you for your comment! xx
DJing by "eyes" has nothing to do with being a bad dj. Your staying ontop of industry standard equipment, and your saving yourself more time when spinning. It's like have a car today vs taking the bus.
@TheRealDJLukie i know what your saying and like i said i wasnt putting her down...but why even have head phones on if ur gonna look at a screen??? for me serato is used for a way to store your music and not carry crates around....for me matching a beat is what makes djing fun...but hey if u like to look at a screen and match numbers be my guest i dont hate im just saying one day their might be a time when u get called out...i have been called out for using serato myself
@TheRealDJLukie luke i never said she was bad she did a good job she is a new dj and being a female guys will hate on her..if she can show that she can dj without looking at a computer he would gain more respect....just my personal opinion...but yea keep doing your thing girl GET MONEY thats all.. i wasnt hating at all
@TheRealDJLukie sorry to keep rambling on but there is nothing wrong with serato who the hell buys records anyway??? i know i dont..but just at least make it look like your mixing not just matching numbers tap your feet feel the music bob your head ya know...AND I AM NOT PUTTING HER DOWN SHE IS DOING A GOOD JOB I LIKE HER FLOW JUST TO MAKE IT CLEAR!
@TheRealDJLukie Thanks for your comments. I appreciate the support. I can however beatmatch by ear and I'm thinking I should do another video soon as I think people are getting the wrong idea, my fault that is! I was so nervous doing this video. Now that I'm getting more experience my confidence is slowly building and hopefully so is my ability! :-D
@QueenofClubsDJ hi queeno yes i like your djing just keep doin your thing do you do funky house be coz it good to mix and you will be good hat it

@acerda50 u can use it how u want but personally for me the fun of djing is to match a beat and get a flow... looking a screen and matching bpm isnt too much fun for me...i just use serato as a way to carry my music and not carry crates around buy hey do what makes u happy..i never said she wasnt good or anything just looks like u click your bpm and go from 90-120 as they come..thats cool to AT THE END OF THE DAY GET MONEY..BUT IF U LOVE IT TRY TO DO IT WITH YOUR EARS NOT YOUR EYES
@acerda50 Thanks! Just so you know I can mix by ear as I learnt on CD. Probably just not doing a great job of showing it as I was cacking myself. Lol.
your on point dont get me wrong but i looks like u dj with your eyes not your ears.... matching bpm on your computers isnt really djing....not trying to put u down but one day u will be tested by real djs and ur gonna have to know wassup!!! my advice would be to put lil bit of tape on where it shows the bpm and try to do it by ear.. but keep it up u deff got some skills
@matias32888 Ive been doin this business for about 7 years now, and I hate people who say shit like you. When djs used to do vynls they said doing by cdjs was cheating, now when we got cdjs they all converted. Now its all about serato. Ive seen professional djs use serato, its all about staying onto of the industry standard equipment
@matias32888 Thanks for the comment. I understand where you're coming from. However I did learn on CD & use CD's for months before I got the serato so yes I can beatmatch by ear. I agree every DJ should be able to beatmatch by ear! The main reason I was using the screen was firstly due to being nervous as I've never done anything like this before, and secondly for accuracy as I was mixing the songs quickly. I know I am a hell of a long way from being a good DJ, but I had to start somewhere :-)
@ggianlucaa1 Hey, I learnt on CD's and used them for months before getting serato. So I don't need to look at the screen it's mainly for accuracy and because I was nervous :-s
@QueenofClubsDJ what kind of speakers are thos? Also what type of tables are those? I use a vestax vci300 right now but just starting to play around with it but eventually I want to get something like you have there.
@iceman0151 Hey! Thanks. Those speakers are just part of an old JVC stereo system that my mum had! My decks are CDJ 850's. Love them. Plenty of features but still simple!
good mixing but you need better tracks

Why you look so serious? May I give you a few pointers?
1. Try not to mix vocals over vocals. Sounds horrible at the club
2. You're turning off the bass and mids at every blend. Thats a bad habit. Try to cut the bass half way out.
3. (Not a must, put if you do it right it sounds great) try using the loop rolls on Serato. It will help you fade out the song a lot better.
4. Baby scratches are ok to an extent.
Other than that, your beat matching is great. Try to smile a little more.
