i do not like german engineered fords, i know when a german designs it , it will cost a lot! i know they handle well, i know they're good on gas. all we have to see is VW and the crap they come out with. japan still does it right and mazda is getting better and it shows in fords quality. in the mean time i will keep my daily driver, Los Angeles built 74 LTD.

Current gen of Focus have real good handling but with bullshit engines :(

I much prefer Golf and Astra today, and no reason to change my car for this, i dont like it, the curren Focus looks better....

I don't think the typical American realizes what a true drivers car this 2012 model is. This car is a baby sports-sedan. There will be no other car in this class that will be able to match this 2012 Focus with regards to ride/handling, high-end interior features, quietness, comfort, and safety. Bravo, Ford!

You are totally right!! It's a shame that most North Americans are clueless peer-pressured conformists that have been brainwashed by all the hype of the Japanese cars. They don't realize how much top-notch European engineering went into designing the next-generation Ford Focus in hi-tech, dynamics, safety. Even the current generation Euro Focus has been compared to the likes of BMW and Audi when it comes to vehicle dynamics. No wonder Ford caters preferentially toward the more tasteful Euros.

@randompop101 I completely agree with you here. It seems like the emphasis here in the U.S. has always been on horsepower instead of excellent driving dynamics. In Europe the emphasis has always been on excellent handling and driving dynamics. I love this video and can't wait to buy the new next-gen MKIII Focus 5 door hatchback. I was and still am extremely disappointed that we never got the excellent MKII Focus over here.

@colderbeer Focus TS is still getting beaten on the handling by the vw golf GTI. so I'm still not 100% convinced about the fords sport sedans.

Plus, Ford dont really have the quote for Reliability, well not like Toyota, so ill still need a few arguments b4 saying Ford really impress me.

In 2011, im buying a new car, sincerly i am having a hard time chosing between the golf GTI and the focus TS. Any 1 has any clue?

@Zantek007 For me, it would be an easy decision...I'd get the 2012 Focus with the high-end engine. And a Ford is more reliable than any Volkswagon.....feel free to look up the JD Powers Reliability ratings....

This new Focus is a very big deal in the industry and Ford is coming out obviously very early with a 2012 model to make a big splash with it. Manufacturers do this only once in a while when they have a new model that is very significant.

Ford is bringing it to the United States as a part of their global platform movement. What we see here is what we will get in the States, besides minor changes in the bumpers to comply with US-DOT standards.
