  • August 9th, my birthday, wooooo!

  • is this compatible with windows pc's?

  • @PS3BM1195 Yes go on the apple website it has a logo with an apple and windows logo in one suggesting it does work with windows

  • where's apple stick? I buy Ap just bcuz of them!

  • Why you said that it could cause troubles if I use it for automatic backup and store some personal files? is really necessary to buy an external HD if I have a Time Capsule 2TB?

  • could you save your apps??????

  • can this be used as a storage area for your computer? please respond.

  • Dude you have a nice house.

  • Comment removed

  • If I wanted to use this as my primary router can I do this?

  • @kpeshin1 It needs to be connected to your modem via ethernet cable just like the Airport Extreme and express.

  • what camera do you use?

  • how much dose it cost cuse i wana sell mine

  • y can create a network?

  • Great video! Very helpful! I just bought a 3TB time capsule (yes, ouch!). I was using a 1TB Western Digital passport with the WD smart ware software to back up all my files. I would like to know if there is a way to restore these files (the back up files from my external HD) to the TimeCapsule without having to restore them directly to my 256gb SSD on my MacBook Pro. Thanks!

  • Hey! Nice video dude. I am under the impression that the initial backup can indeed be done over ethernet, in fact, apple recommends it here support.apple com/kb/ht1175 .

  • @Freakydink1 he's a drug cartel in Detroit duh! Way to show off his house. It's a friggin' Apple Time Capsule review but he managed to squeeze in a clip of his house. "Look at my house, it's huge!" haha. He sounds just like Chilla Frilla I think they're related.

  • no apple stickers no buy

  • @LikeABoss373 I have so many apple stickers from all my apple products I don't even know what to do with them.

  • It looks small but it is actually HUGE.

  • @mariokid2115 "THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!!"

  • Apple should create TCs like the Mac mini. in Aluminium!

  • Your a pro box opener

  • @2:40, how do you record video from your computer like that?

  • @ChristianAlvestam178 There are several applications that allow you to do this. Mac even has one installed for you. It's in quick time under file and new screen recording.

  • no stickers? srry apple not buying it ^^

  • is this compatible with Lion?

  • How would you restore photos from iPhoto?

  • @shawnanthony1992 you open your photos folders inside time time machine and click restore on the folder you're missing.

  • @AiruhnG I've heard that before but that doesn't work for me. I open iPhoto and click Time Machine and it dismisses the iPhoto window and goes straight to Finder as usual. I'm running Lion, latest versions of everything.

  • @mike22edwards: NEVER

  • You're good , and rich

  • Thank you very much for this review. It helped me clear up some questions on if i wanted to buy one or not.

  • is it means that Time Capsule can use as a router??

  • does it work over 3g usb stick??

  • Can that only back up Mac users only

  • @bloodyboy678 the software inside TC is formatted for work with Mac and time machine. Time Machine is an application on Mac OS X.

  • your finger nails are horrible!!!!

  • As far as i know it is possible to backup trough a Ethernet cable and then use it further using wifi xD

  • lol you are using almost all of the 2tb's that came with your time capsule. Can you not store alot of your backups in the cloud now that icloud is live?

  • Do you have to connect it to your internet using a cable?

  • @StardollConfidential You can use wireless if it's available, yes.

  • @DetroitBORG would you have to pay for internet if you had this because i have an att router and i though if you get this you would not have to pay for internet

  • @DetroitBORG im getting a macbook air for christmas and i also have a choice of getting a ipad2 or i could get a 2tb time capsule and an ipodtouch 4th gen WHICH 1 WOULD U RECOMMEND 4 ME 2 GET

  • One more reason for me to want an imac, awesome review!

  • Wired backups and Wireless backups are completely compatible with each other. Apple recommends that you complete the first backup over a wired ethernet connection before switching to a wireless connection thereafter.

  • where did u get that seagate 2TB drive?

  • is it for pc and mac

  • @willskywalker11

It's for both PC and Mac. Check out apples web site!

  • i just got this, will i be able to erase my hard drive and keep everything on the time capsule to improve performance on my i mac?

  • will it works with non apple products?

  • I have a iMac thinking about getting this but can my wife use this 2 she has a mac book pro so what I'm trying to say can 2 computer share its file on this.THANKS

  • The Time Capsule box reminds me the old iPod boxes

  • Nice house/yard

  • If Microsoft paid you to NEVER use APPLE products again, would you?

  • @mike22edwards Every man has his price ;)

  • @mike22edwards absolutly not

  • Great Video as always! One question... Wired backups are incompatible with wireless? Are you sure? I often connect my MBP with a cable when i know it will be a huge backups (after a big video project for instance) and then just use it wireless as normal every other time? I have the version before this time capsule if that makes a difference and a MBP 2009? Just wondered!

  • I want a time capsule

  • Great review

  • Nice house and review!

  • What do you recommend getting if I want to be able to wirelessly use Time Machine with my MBP but I don't really want to spend very much money, preferably under $100. I also wouldn't need more than probably about 500GB.

  • Hey, how did you find about the release, I check for Apple Releases everyday but never saw this

  • Apple should Give you a Trophy because of your collection from there product

  • Is this something worth getting for a MacBook (white unibody) and is it worth the price?

  • Superb video Mike! Very informative review and unboxing:)

  • You could do your first backup via ethernet. Look for article HT1175 in apple support website for more info

  • @sasj15 Thanks for pointing this out, this must have come with the newer software. Ran into this problem with the 2nd gen unit and was on the phone with Apple Support and that's how I discovered the incompatibility with the wireless and wired backups. Apparently the Wireless backup is packaged differently for stability.

  • I like this video of yours Mike :) as it has lots of replay value to me. I like how you show off the hardware and do a real time unboxing then you demonstrate how to configure the device with your mac.

  • I like this video of yours Mike :) as it has lots of replay value to me.

  • i like how the time machine logo looks like my washer door

  • Do you make your vids without your voice and then record the voice after the vid and then combine them??????

  • @AKidzView Not always, but more frequently I do that now.

  • they need to make a new airport express.

  • @NewAppleNews Yes, I think it's their oldest unchanged product now.

  • @DetroitBORG What about the apple socks? :P

  • @DetroitBORG Where do you get all this money to buy this stuff

  • Great video! Keep it up!

  • apple stickers are the best :)

  • please make video of all your apple products gathered together :)

  • Still don't get wtf this is really...

  • @IamMeUareYou It's a router with a disk for network storage.

  • @DetroitBORG thanks so much, its a privalige to get a comment by an amazing person. :D

  • @DetroitBORG does it replace a modem?

  • @IamMeUareYou It is a wireless base station, and a external hard drive all in one. It is used to back up the Mac every hour.

  • Very very good video :)

  • You do good at demonstrating. Was that your talent just for curiosity? Oh and I have a question about iMoive. Is there an option that you can split multiple clips in one screen? How many could you split up to?

  • Awesome, but I would just get a WD or Seagate HDD :)

  • I can use in any country, state, continent, etc.?

  • @axelmonne Yes!

  • 1) so this is a harddrive tht needs power and instead of USB it uses internet?

    2) how would it work on PC?

  • @IamMeUareYou its for wireless use

  • @IamMeUareYou its a wireless router with a hard drive in it.

  • @IamMeUareYou it uses a wifi signal to connect to your mac. I don't think this is formatted for PC since the software in TC is made to work with Time Machine. Time Machine is a application that comes with all Mac computers. TC is a external Hard Drive for backs and wireless base station all in one. You could even connect you USB printer to it and make your printer into a wireless printer that everyone on you network could print from.

  • Really thought it would have Thunderbolt in this update.

  • I still would want the LaCie hardrive with SSD. But that's been delayed worse than Duke Nukem...

  • I know you probably won't answer this question, but How do you afford to buy all of Apple's stuff? Not trying to be mean or a troll in any way.

  • Technobuffalo's knife is better!

  • I know this is off topic, but I really like your watch!

  • @BrilliantTechGuy Thanks, it's a Bulova

  • 1,5 TB used storage!

What kind of apps do you have on your computer that takes so much space?

  • @Bullit163 Not apps, but video, photos, and music comprise most of it.

  • so this is a portable wifi?

  • @IrochigaI765 No, it's not portable.

  • I'm a little jealous that so many people can afford Apple everything, but even more people, me included, can afford Apple nothing :( Apple should lower their prices ASAP!

  • mike, you called the kensington lock a magsafe. =] just pointing that out.

  • Mike, does this unit get hot since it has a hard drive always on ?

  • @richxps Yes, runs quite hot, about 120F to the touch.

  • Hi Mike,

    Great Video,

  • Like always great reviews of apple products :)

  • Can time capsules be used on PCs?

  • @henrysondaveong Yep, although not for the backup feature.

  • nice house:)

  • I have the second gen 1tb time capsule what is different

  • @Jredgrave128 I covered that in the video, the unit I compared it agains is the 2nd gen model.

  • Useless waste of cash right there.

  • Hey, should I get the quad core Mac mini i7 with 256gb SSD and 750gb 8gb ram or the 13" air i7 256gb?

  • @TheAppleReviewGuy I can't recommend spending that much on a Mac mini, but it's much more powerful than the MBA. Still, I'd prefer to have the 13" MBA. It's up to you and what you want to do with it.

  • they should make one with thunder bolt

  • Your speech pattern is very similar to Lasse Pulken from Techno Buffalo.

  • Thanks. Nice house. We have an IMAC and an IBOOK G4 that are working through the newer Netgear router. So, would both computers work with this as well as my PCs and would I just get rid of my 90.00 router? Thanks.

  • @ThinkPureTruth Yes, it works with Mac and PC, all routers do because all computers follow the same wireless protocols. And yes, you would no longer use your Netgear router since the Time Capsule would replace that functionality.

  • Is this compatible with windows? cuzz i would love to use this for my laptop

  • @R0bSkiiTV Time Machine isn't, but you can use this as a Router for Mac or PC. If you want just the router, than get the AirPort Extreme.

  • your voice is much better than the other guys

  • @thor3d29 Thanks! A great microphone works magic ;)

  • Awesome videos mike, I subbed!!

  • @slayer12351 Thanks!

  • i wish ur video didn't end... i was enjoying it so much... for the first time so many uses of time capsule is clear to me....THANKS

  • @bhavinmytube My pleasure!

  • Usually, I don't watch videos like this, but yours are for some reason very interesting.

  • @zachcaskey96 Cool, I try to make this stuff watchable...it can otherwise be very dry and detailed. Always trying to figure out what I need to leave in or out.

  • Love your vids, thank you! :)

It'll be great if Time Capsule uses Thunderbolt to transfer data instead of USB...

  • @MrCore2Man Yeah, everybody is a little surprised they didn't, but I think Apple feels this is really a wireless appliance.

  • Haha I'm still using old Netgear wireless router, it doesn't even have 802.11n.

  • Nice house, you should make a tour video :)

  • Love this guy and the channel :):)

  • @AntonioTartaglia99 Thanks!

  • You forgot the white poly carbonate intel iMac late 2006 and the iMac G5

  • @02500l Or the early iPods.

  • @DetroitBORG Exactly XD

  • Nice house dude. Nice device too.

  • Wait, it adds a terabyte for TWO hundred dollars?? What?!

  • @Mudskippersam I know, insane! That's the size I need...but I refuse to relent on that insane markup.

  • what do you use to edit your videos? i would really love to know!

  • @Minecrafterification Like iMovie

  • @Minecrafterification Just iMovie, I should be using Screenflow and FCPX...but those are still experimental for me right now ;)

  • @DetroitBORG can you give me a free download like for the full version of FCPX or do i have to look for it my self? D: :3

  • Cheers dude! I've been looking at this and the and the top of the line Belkin one for the past few weeks and now I'm sold on the Apple side!!

  • @DaRealPatMan Awesome, I'm sure you won't' be disappointed.

  • greetings from Greece!

Great videos Mike. I'm your fan.;)

    Note:

I'm waiting for my new macbook air 13" ultimate model..

  • @Dimitris777 Nice, congrats! I wish I got the 13" MBA now.

  • Wow, you have such a nice house

  • Nice house!

  • 2:30 isn't that a kensington lock port?

    just saying btw nice review

  • @barirdeeee2 Yep, can't believe missed that goof up. Fixed it with an annotation.

  • Awsome review!

  • Great review man! Keep it UP!

  • Your House <3

  • You know what's really ironic? I was watching videos about time capsules yesterday and then the realise a new one.

  • Really nice house!

  • No apple stickers? :(

  • @MTechGamer You got them when you bought your Mac ;) I think that's what they assume about these accessories.

  • @DetroitBORG Yeah, you're probably right.

  • it's too expensive, is there any other that is cheaper?

like toshiba external hard disk with time maschine.

  • @SerbiaVlog There are some NAS servers that support Time-Machine, but Apple doesn't license that out so it has a nasty habit of breaking with software updates.

  • Why would it need a Magsafe connector?

  • @Lindontt That's a mistake, it's a Kensington Lock.

  • what is this > ?

  • 2:25 Magsafe connector? You mean a Kensington lock...
