The title of this song is Zoot Suit Boogie based on El Maestro Eduardo "Lalo" Guerrero's Chicas Patas Boogie. The voice on this recording however is Daniel Valdez's.
After I saw the play i fell in love wit Pachuco culture! now wenever my homies have a new girlfriend i ask em" Is this ur new huisa?" haha the music they play is sick! swing is where its at! i cod listen to it all the time! i dance every time i hear it!
I love this play..I love this music and I love Edward James Olmos..I have the poster of ZOOT SUIT that i seen Mr Olmos in Santa Monica one time at a function, knowing he was to appear, i took the poster with me and Mr Juarez ask Mr Olmos (Eddie) if he would sign my poster, of course he did....I tresure my poster....
I must have been 23 when I went to see this play at the theatre on sunset blvd. I remember Edward James Olmos with his zoot suit, freaking vato look really impressive. Watching this video brought back nice memories, thanks for uploading it. I am now 50 years old and I find this as entertaining as it was back then. About 3 years later around 1985-86, I saw Edward at the Placita Olvera. I told him they did a great job with the Zoot Suit play, @ the time he was doing american me, loved it.
