Ok so I made the map but every time I start a new round or save the map and start it again the elephants go back to their original places. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

@DemonRaaze Yea its normal, the elephant is part of the map, not a vehicle. When you load the map the elephant starts in the same place every time, I would have linked to my fileshare if i could save them, but you cant. Only objects you can pick up in forge have their position data saved when you save your map. Have fun blowing stuff up!

Well that sucks. Oh well I still went through and deleted everything so it is a clear map. Guess I have to just go and put the elephant back when I start it up with some friends.

The really funny part about it was that when I started it again the receiver nod and all the sending nods where suck to the elephant. lol

Yea, just go into go into sandtrap in forge mode, and follow the steps in the video.. It takes a while, because the elephant is not very cooperative when your trying to move it. Holding a tank and using it to push around the elephant is probably the easiest way to get everything into place. Check out the video this is a response to, it shows you how to move around the elephant with a tank in more detail.

Btw, there's no pc version of halo 3.

You can't be in the car when you launch it. Someone has to be outside so the elephant prompts them with the hold rb to flip vehicle message. So you can do it on your own, you need someone else to launch you if you want to take a ride in the car getting launched.

Ive made your elephant cannon many times but when I have someone drive in with a warthog and I push the button to launch he lags and goes nowhere, but when he gets out the warthog goes flying across the map, any advice you have for me???

Yea it happened to me too, I'm guessing it happened when you were playing over xbox live. I have no idea what makes it screw up, probably some netcode thing that never came up during play testing since I doubt they expected anyone to do this. It seems inconsistent as to whether or not it will work, because I've done this over live and had everything work right with different people.

I don't understand what exactly is flinging the vehicles. Don't the elephants just have a turret or two on them?

I'ts sort of explained in the video, it has to do with ow the halo engine works. When a vehicle has been flipped there they use the in game physics to right themselves not manual control of the object. There is a set point on the vehicle that emits enough force that it flips the vehicle. On a warthog it isn't that much, but for the elephant its a huge amount, because it needs that much to move its mass around. When you stop the elephant from being able to move by placing the teleports you

can use that force to fling other vehicles. It doesn't really react with player as they have special rules applied to their physics, but for vehicles, and dead players, and most forge objects the force will push an object away. So if a player is in a vehicle, he can be interacted with, since the vehicle model is interacting with the elephant.. In the beginning of the video I shoot a panel, that is where the force comes from on the elephant, its different for all the vehicles.

Another interesting thing I figured out was that depending on the side of the vehicle you're on will make the force emit in a different direction. it will fire toward whichever side you are on. So its best to stand in front of the opening or just to the side. If you are under/inside of the flipped elephant when you fire it, you sometimes will trigger the force in the other direction. The vehicle will try to go through the panel sometimes it glitches through,

sometimes it just sticks to the wall for a few seconds, and sometimes it will blow up, its also pretty easy for you to get killed, which sucks because sandtrap is big and it takes a while to get back after you respawn. The panel I drive into in the video, can be touched from the other side, and if you trigger it there, you go flying in a pretty much random direction. Starting underneath usually makes you fly in a somewhat predictable direction, while from the other side, you could go straight

up or in any direction. Also the cannon works better, and more predictably when you use all of the teleports on it. I had to use half on each, and it glitched out quite a bit more than normal when I only got to use 10 on each one.

Hope that helps to explain how this works. I could be totally wrong, but I'm pretty sure what I just rambled about or something pretty similar to it is what's going on in the game engine to make this happen.

You're in forge mode anyway...take out all the spawn points on the map and put only one where your e-cannon is. Also, if you're in forge build mode, holding the left trigger down greatly accelerates your travel speed.
