Dang, commercials were looooooong in those days! I guess they could be -- there wasn't any remote control, and even if there had been there weren't many other channels to click to to avoid the ads.

Thank you for including the commercials. They really add a lot to the historical significance of these posts.

In those days, a sponsor like Buick preferred to limit their advertising in a half-hour program with a single two and a half minute "intermission", and a brief 30 second pitch by Jackie at the end of the show. Today, commercial time is so fragmented, I'm not sure advertisers [and there are DOZENS of them during every "break"] are actually aware of the fact that people "change channels" (or do "other things") when their commercials are shown in a "cluster" of 15 and 30 second spots...
