I dunno man, a good hip check is when the puck carrier has good forward momentum and the defending player stands him up hip to hip. The puck carrier usually rolls over and his legs are in no real danger because of the momentum. On this hit, tucker is the one with the momentum and he comes in on an angle. Clearly tucker used his hop I'm not arguing that, but there was only one way for that hit to end and that was with an injury. Given the history they had, and Tucker's rep, one could argue it...

If he wanted to take Peca out of the play after he passed the puck he easily could have just bumped him straight into the boards, he had him lined up perfectly. Instead he went low to injure him. Tucker loved to throw dirty hits and act injured when he got hit to try to sell a penalty. I'm not saying he's the only guy, there's plenty like him. I dunno man, a good hip check is when the puck carrier has good forward momentum and the defending player stands him up hip to hip. The puck carrier usually rolls over and his legs are in no real danger because of the momentum. On this hit, tucker is the one with the momentum and he comes in on an angle. Clearly tucker used his hop I'm not arguing that, but there was only one way for that hit to end and that was with an injury. Given the history they had, and Tucker's rep, one could argue it...

@vicusvita Yeah. Tucker's hip makes contact with Peca's upper thigh.. This is definitely not a 'knee-on-knee' hit. I don't think Tucker's intent was to injure Peca, just to keep the fire stoked between the two of them. They both played a really intense and hard game. I was never a fan of ether team, but I loved watching both these guys play. But for folks who don't like Tucker, they'll easily add this to their long list of reasons to hate him more.
