  • God take this damn video off. It sucks seriously. -___-

  • i think so too Grey! lol!

  • ...we have the exact same choreography in our production.

i think our directors have seen this on broadway a few too many times.

  • dudee you ROCK... you're voice is great, well educated i'm sure, gotta love a real tenor.. you seem to have a slight operatic vocal tone.. its great to have a different sound for this song.. cheers from argentina! love the personal riffs for sure.. i hope you dont mind if I implement them!!! abrazo fiera

  • I feel like too many liberties were taken with the tune, but it was still an amazing performance, just thinking about the quality of singing itself. Great job.

  • okay im sorry this is ridiculous. look like me? cant take what im dishing out. i think youre the one who can take it. my comment may not have been constructive but my intentions were not to hurt you it was a comment more specifically geared toward your wardrobe and its unflattering nature. im a bg guy too buddy.

  • o great i just read your other comment you are clearley over reacting. its just a comment. no need to attack every person who makes a comment against you. i may not be good enough for you or youtube but i dont care. ive been doing shows for 10 yrs now and although i agree with you and think i cant sing i get cast in sining roles im in the wedding singer right now and just got cast today as prince christopher in cinderella. so dude chill its YOUTUBE.

  • @imaplate1 Mama didnt teach ou no manners. If you cant take it then dont dish it out. I dont go to people's videos and insult them. It's just rude. I may not look like you, but I can sing and I get paid to do it, fat or not.

  • thats fine haha im not a thin guy. its just alarming because no matter the situation leather pants are a no go. i mean im just saying though. you clearley made an excelent robbie you have an amazing voice and awesome skills. and it clearley hasnt stopped youre career.

  • haha gotta love the tight leather pants and the belly :D good combo. haha

  • Thanks....ur honesty is refreshing. So if I call u an asshole I hope u feel refreshed too. @imaplate1

  • Furthermore if ur gonna make fun of ppl on youtube you might wanna learn to sing yourself. @imaplate1

  • I was kind of disappointed that you didn't sing the tune... but reading more and discovering it was a one-off number in a revue I forgive you... you are a very talented singer :-D

  • BRENTLEY! i just love you. this is where it all began :)

    <3

  • amazing range!

  • you're amazing. and i andrew, when is your production?

  • Woah.

  • Wow. This is pretty great! I love your take on the song.

  • Too many riffs...your voice sounds awesome but not 80s and not wedding singer

  • wow I love Robbie's own style to it....goes great with it!! awesome job!

  • i think this is the best wedding singer opening I've seen ever :D

  • did anyone ever tell you your style and voice is very reminiscent of pop singer, "Meatloaf"?

  • No guitar? That stinks. This musical was great for the pit orchestra as well.

  • This version annoys me. The style doesn't fit the wedding singer. This situation is very similar to the reason why Steve Harley was replaced by Michael Crawford. You are a good singer, but this video fails to show how good you are and in some areas, show where you lack experience.

  • OH WOWZER.

I'm doing this musical this December.

You probably know that you're PHENOMENAL. goodness gracious!

  • We want to marry your voice! Great job!

  • good video man!

  • Holy crap.

Please please PLEASE say you guys are still around. I recently moved to Columbus and... I'm kind of speechless right now. But PLEASE still be around.

  • You have an amazing voice!

    Soooo good!

    :]]

  • The music from The Wedding Singer makes it seem like such a fun musical to be in!

  • very well done

  • Stolen Choero

  • blah.

  • our school just did this show!

  • what school

  • is it pinetree?

    i got there too!

  • I think its awesome this still gets comments. It was an amazing number to be in. I had a blast and you totally rocked the stage!

  • HIS VOICE IS AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGG

  • Thank you! You aren't so bad yourself tiger. I checked you out and subscribed. NICE!

  • Thank you! that means a lot your voice is gold!

  • I just got back to London from Nelsonville Ohio doing a show at Stuarts Opera House...I was just looking up the wedding singer and found this I thought it was strange you did it in Columbus cos I was just there a few hours ago lol...love this version your riffs and belting are brilliant!! x

  • What loser keeps thumbing down all the positive comments on here?? Man, I hate this whole thumb-up, thumb-down business. LOVE this video tho, great stuff!

  • *agrees

  • You have a REALLY awesome voice. But this is definately a little more Clay Aiken than Robby Heart. Nice runs and big belt notes though.

  • Thanks :-) This wasn't a production of "The Wedding Singer". It was a revue, so it was really me singing as myself. Glad you liked it!

  • im doing this show too!!!! i'm linda hahaha

  • i'm doing this play right now. i was practicing the back up vocals:P i'm angie! Julia's mom. and lucille the bartender, small cast.

  • Such an awesome show - it went on tour in the uk and was just brilliant!

  • Wow this sounds great!x

  • still my fav version!

  • wow I've been a fan for six months and never saw this vid - you did a fantastic job absolutely blew me away you have just gone up a notch if thats possible in my amazing talent on yt radar !!

  • great job! my college is doing this play this semester. i got the part of holly lol hope we do as good as you did!

  • nick, the lyudag comment was supposed to be from me :) its olga. haha.

aren't you so excited for the wedddding singer??

    woooh go George!

  • and you dont like that he makes it his own thing nick?

aren't you excited to do our musical!?

  • Well I like you any way nick. thanks for watching :-)

  • wow! that was realy good! My high school is doing this for our spring musical

  • wow. Fantastic Voice.

I really want to do this show somewhere.

    It would be intense.

    You are amazing!

  • Not a carbon copy performance of the CD and just as well.

Enjoyed it and jealous of your voice.

    Nice job.

  • you are phenom!!!

  • I was directed here by one of Shelly Bort's videos (who I think I love haha) and am now totes in love with YOUR voice!

I love when performers make the music their own. I don't know what these people are complaining about... maybe they like hearing the same old music sung in the same old style with the same old tone, phrasing, etc. etc. every single time.

You're FAB! If only I lived anywhere near Ohio, I'd be following you around from show to show (in the non-creepy way #1 fan kind of course)!

  • You did a GREAT JOB! And an awesome voice!

  • i love the pianist at 1.20 - really freestyling...! LOVE IT! :D

  • Thanks! I will let him know that! He just goes to town!

  • omg soo good!

  • omg I love your screen name!

  • ps- the more people the more exciting.

TRUE STORY. everyone else can, as scot would say, "suck an egg". this performance still gives me chills. wish i'd have been there now that i know EVERY SINGLE PERSON on that stage. well, 3 at least ; )

  • omg i'm so glad i came here again to look at the rude comments because it gave me a chance to listen to this for the millionth time. can't get ENOUGH!!! and ps- you're SO Jackson 5 in this vid! oh, i forgot- NO ONE SANG LIKE THIS IN THE 80's.... shame on me for knowing that's not even CLOSE to being true... *hangs head in total shame*

  • All I have to say, is Wow!

  • you're awesome! Thanks!

  • from 1:13 on i love the way you sang that!

  • thank you so much! I faced the dilemma of singing it straight on...or doing something with it. I chose to take the risk. It's certainly not everyone's cup of tea when folks do that. But I am SO glad you liked it!

  • its just plain amazing the way your voice changes when you really start to belt it out, how do you manage to sound better the louder you sing?

  • That's just my wail range. When I go higher, it gets more difficult. Check my favorites for my friend Shelly and I doing "Defying Gravity" in the original key. now, THAT'S high LOL! And you can definitely tell I am struggling LOL!

  • This was AMAZING.

  • Finally someone nice! Thanks so much! I was beginning to think I was terrible for a second LOL!

  • No, this was incredible. Makes Stephen Lynch look incredibly pitiful.

  • Let me respond by saying that we aren't professional sngers, dancers, or whatever. We are just here to have a good time and put on a good show, which we certainly achieve. I am not on Broadway, nor do I confess to be good enough to be. But I will say that this is a good performance of this song. If you have nothing to say other than you don't like my interpretation, then you are just rude and need to be taught to bite your tongue. If you like it, great. If you don't, suck it.

  • who the eff is going through and voting thumbs down on all the positive comments? this person has WAAAAY too much time on their hands!

let's see how many thumbs down i get for THAT-

the person who is THUMBSINGDOWN EVERYTHING:

    grow up.

  • The only thing that really bothers me is the size of the cast. The cast is ment to only have 26. I find the focus is always off when the cast gets too big like this.

  • Well, I do understand what you mean. And yes, it is a little big...however, this was a musical revue and this number was the finale number of Act 1 which concluded the women's chorus portion of the show. The dancers and I were just principles for it. It wasn't the actual stage production. The women provided background vocals which aren't heard much at all on this recording. Thanks for commenting though. Cheers!

  • I mean this in the nicest way possible.. I'm just a little disappointed that your company ripped off the original choreography.

  • no offense taken. I didn't stage it. But I do see what you mean.

  • I LOVE it. Seriously - I love what you did with the song. And what a great number - that revue must be the most awesome experience, wow.

  • umm i think its good!

  • thanks! ;-)

  • its ok but i dont like how u sang it but u can sing

  • thanks. It certainly isn't for everyone.

  • especially people with no decorum.....sorry looking back on this comment pisses me off.

  • i don't like the way you did it either. I agree that you have a great voice, but the way you're singing it isn't appropriate stylistically. It's meant to be 80's pop/rock. I'd love to hear you do Altar Boyz or something like that, though.

  • While I value your opinion, it is wrong. Lot's of people sang like that in the 80's, including people like Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and yes even Kenny Loggins who was white. So stylistically, it's not innapropriate. It's just not your cup of tea.

  • First off, an opinion can't be 'wrong.' Secondly, you shouldn't say 'please comment' if you can't take it when people don't like you. And finally, the way you sang this song is, in fact, not within the style of the show. I'm sorry... it's not.

  • WHO ARE YOU?????????????????????

seriously. no one wants you here. when YOU're on broadway we'll listen to your notes. thanksbye.

  • I only said that it's not the right style, there's no reason to get snarky with me. As a matter of fact, I have been on Broadway, not that it matters. And not that my opinion needs weight added to it, but I know the writers of The Wedding Singer (because I was in it). So feel free to start taking my notes, not that I said anything to or about you.

  • ok we get it....you don't like it. It was a revue. I wasn't even performing as Robbie. I was performing as Brent. And that's how Brent sings. Sorry you don't like it, but that's just the way I do the song. Just like there are different interpretations of many different famous Broadway roles....and by the way, the fact that you've been on Broadway is a hill of beans to me. I've done my share of pro theatre also.

  • *agrees with kadukoogecko

  • nice job!

  • thanks a bunch from one Broadway boy to another!

  • I normaly hate, Hate, HATE stylizing in a song -- especially in a Broadway show, but holy mother of all things good and pure, you did a SPECTACULAR job!!! Bravo! Stylize away, friend. :)

  • Wow! That's an AWESOME comment! I figured I could play with this song, because it's such a pop song really. Normally I keep it straightforward on the Broadway stuff. Thanks so much. You made my day!

  • by the way, I checked out your site and it's awesome. I have some comedy stuff on here too that you might enjoy....or hate....so, yeah, try me on.

  • Thank God for jazz hands! Kick ball change!

  • Jerry, I really hope you get this comment; and we can talk/meet next week. My name is Jon Hallstein, and I have done VV a few times, including solo work. Honestly, I was dissapointed, and somewhat confused, about not getting this solo last year. But, honestly, after stumbling upon this video looking for VV info, I can see why. I'm good, but you da' man!!! You have no idea how much better I feel knowing I lost the solo to someone with your talent. Awesome! I hope to meet you. Break a leg!

  • WOW! Thank you SO much! That really is a great compliment! I look forward to seeing you! I am singing a bunch of stuff in the show this year, so look out for me! My name is Brent! Make sure to come by the assembly hall and say hi! Hope to see ya then!

  • Wow, your performance is awesome! I love your voice! I saw you at Vaudvillities last year and you were great. You are a great dancer also. I think i noticed you were in several performanaces! I hope to see you again this year, will you be back? Hope so!

  • Yep, I am there....but I have short hair now. I am singing the solo on the opening number "I Got Rhythm" so look for me!!! Thanks by the way! Hope you enjoy the show!

  • Thank you so much for taking a great song and giving an original and fantastic performance! It's a pet peeve of mine when people are cast in roles and then sound exactly the same as the people on the cast CD- so I admire you greatly for taking the role and making it your own! That's what will truly make your performance stand out among the rest. You were fantastic!

  • Wow! That's the best comment I have gotten! Thank you so much!

  • Wow - That was really good. Love your voice. This musical seems to be so big in the states, it hasn't really hit us here in Britain yet - I don't think! Nobody in my musical theatre company are aware of it anyway and I wasn't either until I went to see it last week prior to it going to the West End. Hope it becomes as big over here, I love it and the soundtrack is fab! Hopefully we can do something from it soon.

  • Thanks! It has a cult following here in the states. The show itself didn't last very long on Broadway, but I love it of course and hope that it does well in the West End! Thanks for your nice comment!

  • Bravo! This is *QUITE* the excellent performance!

  • Thanks! You are *QUITE* awesome!

  • I love the wedding singer my fav musical

  • Awesome! I think I like "If I Told You" the best!

  • I like someday but then again they are all good I'm so sad it went off Broadway it's my fav

  • I'm a little in love with your voice - you're VERY talented!

  • Thank you! I am in love with your typing!

  • So,

I'm doing this as part of a cabaret thingy and I just hope it's nearly as good as this.

You make this song so inspirational. I'm often in class and find myself humming the tune.

  • Thanks so much! Good luck on your show! It is very addicitive huh LOL!

  • Haha, that it is...

    "Before the niiiight is through..."

  • *sigh* my husband is amazing.

    <3

  • hey man, im playing link in hairspray on the westend on the, and just wanted to say ur voice rocks man!! love listening to this number! and a great ensamble behind u! what is this? anyway great job buddy! Ben

  • Wow!!! Thank u sooo much! This is a community show here in Ohio. Just a bunch of theatre nerds getting together and playing! Thank you! You really made my day!!!

  • That was totally awesome. Love your voice, JP! How I wish I could belt like that. We should do a freaking show!!!

  • Hell yeah! That would rock. I always say that if we could get all us youtube singers together, it would be SO awesome.

  • Musical revue: When you want to put on a show, but not pay any royalties!

  • I dunno! I just show up and sing!

  • The guy singing Robbie has excellent voice control...waaaay better than Stephan Lynch I tell ya!

  • Thanks! I'll tell him....wait, I'm him!

  • Hmm pretty good :3 Stephen did it better tho, no offence

  • None taken at all, but thank you! He is definitely a comic genius. Big fan!

  • Was that you singing? If so, WOW O_O very nice vocals :3

  • Yeah that was me. Thanks!

  • omg- CHILLS! i got chills right now more than i've ever gotten them before. UGH! I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!! my favorite. EEEEEEE!!!!! *LINE DANCE FOLLOW ME!!!* (then the piano rocks the SHIZ!)

    YOU ARE MY FAVORITE! <3

  • LOL! You are so retarded. In a good way though!

  • how did you guys get such a top-notch production value? was there a dvd release cuz it seems spot on

  • Nope, just my coworker filming with his camera. LOL!

  • no, i mean as in the play itself (with the actors, music, and choreography)

  • We just cast around town. No one is pro. Just a bunch of folks getting together! It's actually the oldest Vaudeville show still in existence. Right here in Ohio! Thanks for the great comment!

  • we're singing "if i told you" at our wedding... or when i come to see you... TOMORROW.

  • Most def. baby. I am hoping that my friend amber will rock that with me so we's can put it on the youtube all the kids are fussin about.

  • This is so good, it's such a different style than the original song, which makes it awesome... way to go... did you enjoy playing robbie... it seems like an awesome role...

    keep up the AWESOME work

  • Well, as much as I would LOVE to play Robbie, this was just a revue in which we did this particular song. Thanks so much for your comments! I'm very flattered!

  • wow, thats a big ensemble!!

  • Yeah LOL! It's because our Women's Chorus sang back up on it....you cant really hear them though....so you had dancers, chorus people and some dancer/chorus people! It closed our first act, so bigger was better I guess!

  • I love this song because my uncle is the coreographer and is danceing in this and is in lots of other shows!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow you have a great voice! Very different style from Stephen Lynch, who I adore, but great nonetheless!

  • Thank you very much! I wanted to completely make it my own.

  • Heyy my uncles in this video he coreographed it!!!!!!

  • nice to meet ya, scott's niece! (he's the groom!)

  • hey there, leather pants! i love it. and what a voice! i'm so glad you found my page. and now we're bff :)

  • bff, lylas!

  • wow. fantastic

  • thank you!

  • WOW. i'm just watching stephen lynch over and over and then i see you???? THIS IS HOW IT'S DONE!!! congratulations : ) i'm now absolutely crazy in love with you! : ) WHAT A VOICE!

  • Wow! I am a huge Stephen Lynch fan so that is a HUGE compliment. And for the record, I am in love with you too.

  • Brent!!!!! My REAL wedding singer! I can't wait to hear you sing at my wedding. We decided on Baby Got Back, yes? I might walk down to that one... or maybe Me so horny... either would be correct.

Who is that kick arse girl doing the worm in taffita? Skills...

    Lurrrrves you!!!!!

  • for those of you who dont know.....miss jgolderos is my worm. And she kicks ass. And the song I am doing at your wedding is "Blame It On the Rain" by Milli Vanilli.

  • Yeah, theres no denying hes got a great voice, I dont think its really needed to have a great voice like that , it kind of detractrs from the overall performance, cuz a qedding singer wojuldnt have a great voice , perhaps a better than average one, but still pretty impressive.

  • I love your voice! :) GREAT production number! By the way, which city is Vaudvillities based in?

  • Thanks so much! We are in Columbus, OH.

  • his voice is a freaking mazing.

    so inspiring!
