This is coming out in a few weeks in the UK. I wish I could see it! Upstairs Downstairs is one of my favourite TV series. I hope it lives up to the amazement of the first one. I think a series from 1936-1939 or 1945 would be nice. The 1930s and 40s was really the LAST...GASP...of the "upstairs downstairs" way of life. WWII really killed it off with London being bombed and rising taxes and soldiers enlisting and the rationing. An era long gone. It'd be interesting to see it portrayed on film.
May I make a shameless plug? There's a Website with three good Upstairs, Downstairs interviews: John Hawkesworth, Jean Marsh, and Jeremy Paul. It's HistoryAccess. Add a dot com and you're there. Check out the Table of Contents under "Upstairs, Downstairs." End of shameless plug. Except for this - I love the show and am very happy it's returning.

No, leave UDS alone. Its end coincides with the demise of domestic service and it was therefore a fitting end

I hope it's better than the Sarah and Thomas spinoff. That was "bloody awful!"

@Jo7welder Yes. I think they're doing two 90-minute episodes. Check it on Wikipedia :-).

I was trying to work out where this had come from...
Until I remembered that I produced and recorded it.
