1.2 on the clock the bulldogs could have intentionally missed leaving UK to have to chuck up a near impossible three so the coach wanted them to make sure he made it so he told his team to goaltend. That way he could call timeout and have a shot at a normal 3 to send it in to double OT. Little did he know that this is a technical and I didn't know it either.

Actually, it was a good play if he didn't get the technical. If the shooter missed the free throw on purpose there would be no time for them to shoot. If they called a timeout after that, they could get a 3-point shot. Thumbs up to end all this trolling.

guys take a look at the clock, there is 1.2 seconds left in the game. By goal tending, they can make sure that they get the ball back with a 3 point deficit. Assume they had not goal tended and the free throw missed, then they would have had 1.2 seconds to rebound it, pass it as close as possible, and take a shot, which is way harder than in bounding it with 1.2 seconds to go and taking the three pointer. I feel like this was a smart move.
