  • Fred Perry - Polo's, Knitwear, Shirts

    John Smedley - Polo, Knitwear

    Jeans - Levis

    Penguin - Polos

    Ben Sherman - Shirts

    Brutus - Shirts

    Tootal - Scarves

    Baracuta - Harringtons

  • i generally steer clear of all the fred perry shirts that are on sale in JD sports, stick to my Japan ones, better fitting.

i was in covent garden the other month in the fred perry store, and i was asking which is the most uncommon polo, cos i fucking hate walking round town and seeing some one in the same one haha

anyway, some of their more recent track jackets are dead nice too.

  • @89cheapmonday what other bands do you like? are there any underground british brands that have a similar feel to fred perry and ben sherman?

  • @Majesticon

Look out for 'Merc', they're an alright British brand...possibly 'Pretty Green', Liam Gallagher's clothing brand. Or, type 'Oi Polloi' into Google, that's an online store that's also based in Manchester and has some great clothes that are worth having a look at, very pricey though. Hope I've been some help

  • Know everybody what is name the plaing song?

    Thank :-)

  • I think fred perry and lyle and scott make the best knitwear

  • Totally man. These heritage brands are acknowledging there heritage value now. The know those who buy certain items(tipped polo shirts or button down shirts for example) expect a certain quality so there giving it to us again. And why not, we deserve it! ha

  • I think Fred Perry was to blame for its apparant style slump. They started making shirts and polos cheaper in 3rd world countries and the quality of the actual garments went down. It was therefore made a throwaway label like all the others. This is changing again and if anyone has bought a made in Italy merino wool sweater in recent years they will surely agree with me that the quality is coming back in a major way.

  • id have to say that fred perry have manage to brand them selves well...but ive got fred perry from england and china and i have to say the chinese stuff is actually made better!!

with places like primark and throw away fashion...its all about us choosing the quality brands of these times...but buying a john smedley sweater for 160 quid youve gotta be quite commited... i see alot of lads in fred perry with not a fucking clue its just the next fashionable thing no clue of heritage

  • Ive got two of the made in japan FP polo shirts and the fit and quality of material is the best Ive seen. 99% of people u see in a fred perry have no idea of the heritage your right but alot of rich idiots dont know what there buying when they buy a smedley. I saw that bald comedian on mock the week last friday and he was wearing a smedley polo. Buttons totally undone, collar all over the place, creased and a size too big. Its all about context. He had no idea.

  • Well first up im not the neatest person in the world but i know what your gettin at, its like having a nice car and not being able to drive...style is style and it only so happens this look is in fashion again but people that understand timeless style know what its about..i dont mind being etlitest its better that we have pride in this country about its products and its creative people, than killing afgans and soccer violence

  • yeah i agree. Its a shame that so many films are being made just now about late 70/80s football casual culture and focusing on the fashion when no one is making films about john smedley and how they hand stitch every garment in there mill. Im not being sarcastic, Id like to see that film

  • i might need a coffe to get through that one!

its right though style serves the purpose of communicating who you are or what you aspire to.. and id rather aspire to a culture of good music, good clothes. .quality has always been celebrated it seems up untill the last couple of decades. everything is marketed well the illusion of hype thats all the need to do to get a sale. then you get a new album or shirt what ever and you look at it and think this is shit.whats really to celebrate about this?

  • yeah but fred perry do know this, and the clueless do tend do steer towards the giant laurel printed tracksuits rather than the shirts or the cardigans, or the shoes for that matter.

  • a few years ago i wouldve agreed but jus about town yesterday i saw enough dickheads in fred perry's turned up collars and the pimsols...which to be fair i steer clear of anyway...its all going wrong so very very wrong,,,but on the other hand it is making gettin out there and look at the other classic brands like baracuta which to be fair are much better quality than what i found with FP jus maybe not such a expansive range though

  • try lyle and scott. they're a great brand.

  • sssshhhhh.... don't tell evreyone about our secret brands. We've thrown them the carcass of fred perry, let them chew on the bones a while while we make our escape.

  • to be fair i think Lyle and Scott has already been gobbled up by the rude bwoy Grime scene and terrible channel U acts.... john Smedley and Baracuta it is, but there are lots of good brands it just seems that they get inherited into different scenes

  • i see plenty of people who arnt chavs wearing fred perry polos, especially recently i think fred perry is coming back in a way after the bashing "chavs" gave it, really makes no sense they pay alot of money and then make it look shit, just look what happend to burberry...

  • great

  • Fred and Ben, they have done good work for the Sinheads.

  • The best =D

  • no doubt.

  • love seeing the skins in the commercial!

  • hmmm.. that was supposed to be in responce of the ahole calling skins nazis... but it didn't post my comment in the right place so that looks pretty weird, yea?

  • In my opinion fred perry was a jew and skinheads become to destroy the good name of fred perry, but now it's a jew again, and it's often weared by busines people or other king of guys no by crazy drunks guys.

  • The original skinheads were black. Traditional skinheads aren't racist. If you want to trash a group of people for smudging perry's name, it'd be neo-nazis. Not skinheads.

  • 100% agree

  • What kind of nonsense are you talking??? Who cares if Fred Perry was jewish??? Skinheads are not racist. Pointing out someone's racial background for no reason is questionable. I've been a traditional Skinhead for over 20 years and I'm quite proud of it. Much love and respect to all the other Traditional Skins out there keeping it alive.

  • Fred Perry was not Jewish but Ben Sherman was. Who cares?? You know f**k all about original skinhead culture, only what you see in the media.

  • dick

  • yes he was jew, take a look at wikipedia....

  • skinheads are not nazis!

  • fred perry was a jew, who was a famous tennis player:and you all fucking nazis are stupid because you are fake.....

  • fred wasn't jew...

  • Skinheads aren't nazis. Nazis can be skinheads. It's like rectangles aren't squares, but squares are rectangles. The majority of skinheads are traditional skinheads, that being hard-mods. Look up 'two-tone' and the spirit of '69 to get a better sense of it. I'm a traditional skinhead, and I denounce all racism in any form.

  • @MyTunnel shut up nazi mofo

  • i hav 1 thing thats fred perry: a brown hat. and i luv it!

  • the best are the 2 skinheads ^.^ i'm so glad :-)

  • C'est sur Fred Perry > Lacoste

  • I Love fred Perry

  • love it <3

  • I don't know, maybe something of Paul Weller. The best thing you can do is check the Fred Perry website.

  • Which band and song is used in this commercial??

  • it's "I'm not like everybody else" by The Kinks.

  • The Kinks: I'm not like everybody else

  • cool stuff !

  • like fred!

  • Yes, this1 rules!
