Consider what thickness of metal one uses inside a microwave. Tin or aluminum foil will sparkle and/or burn. Using a stainless steel cup or metal tray does not create this problem. Have seen it used for years overseas at various restaurants. Their microwaves are the same as ours even if nearly all run on 220 volts and 50 MHz.
