  • Is Alty (the Southport substitute) any relation to Carl Alty of HMHB (Half Man Half Biscuit)?

  • Watched Stan Harland for Brummie, great player. Great vid

  • @SwindonTownFCcouk

Thank you for pointing that out Swindon.

I recall this match so well. It simply doesn't seem like 41 years ago but the whole country (bar a particular corner of North London) was behind 'The Town'. The awful pitch, much like a quagmire, was a great leveller and, of course, the 'Horse of the Year' show made matters worse. Particularly poignant for me was the fact that my team played there a month later in the FA Cup Final when the pitch had barely improved, and lost.

  • If this is supposed to be in 1968, why does the caption show 1965?

  • @Glamagal20091 the caption is from Swedish TV and is incorrect, match was played in 1968. Swindon and Southport were in different divisions in 1965.

  • wow u can hear southport lol

  • checking the old stuff out before Wembley visit 2010, great to see, Rodgers was my school boy hero and still is today

  • The tv says 1965, but the title of the video says '68?

  • Go on the Port!

  • Good Video!!
