Why would anyone compare the IQ between the 7D & the 5D? Features I can understand, but even that is comparing new design to old design. Why stop there? Why not compare a G10 to a 1D? Fail!
@AlbinasLove check out the new generation of canon and nikon coming out now, the new sensors will be more advanced - otherwise from the current/older generation, the 5D leads the pack.
I love both Nikon and Canon. If I could choose any cam with money not being an issue I would choose Nikon D3s, but with Canon lenses being cheaper and more varied and the 5dII costing almost 500 less than the d700 I go for Canon.
Umm let test some Canon and use flat batteries and also under- expose well The underexposing will add noise, and was this jpg or RAW? if RAW how was the PP done, if you wish to compare then get thing right and tell it all.
Also any camera to get the best from it you need to know how to use all the menu settings, as there are many setting in the 7D, that I know, have to be set different then the factory ones, to get the best out of it.
@beugnen A full frame sensor isn't necessarily better than a crop. It's another one of those myths like megapixels. I prefer a crop sensor over a full frame. The substantial price difference doesn't justify the very minimal advantage to me and my clients certainly don't care one way or the other. The features of the 7D stomp all over the 5DMKII.
@ThePrivateJoker I'm guessing you are pretty young. It's always the young "pixel peepers' without much real world shooting experience who worship at the altar of full frame.
@ThePrivateJoker Like I said the 5DMKII is antiquated on not worth the price. If you like it good for you. In the end the client cant tell any difference which is really what matters for a pro. I'm not in the business of reviewing cameras, I am in the business of supplying a product to my clients.
@metronomic1 Repeating your error doesn't make it right. As I corrected you before - 5D is not antiquated and is worth the price. I guess you're the McDonald's of "photography" since your "clients" don't know the difference. Keep serving those big macs.
I have the feeling that exposure was simple aperture priority auto, and thus slightly different for the two cameras - which means not quite comparing like with like.
Pretty good look at them. I have had a 7D for a year and like the crop factor. I also like the overall performance of the 7D. I compared the Nikon D300s and 7D when buying. I decided on the 7D and am very happy. Lens choice is better with Canon if nothing else.
5d better in low light because of the bigger senser and a 35mm lens is a 35mm lens on the 5d but i love my 7d. 5d wins hands down the last episode of house was shoot using only the 5d mark 2
Hmmm, there are advantages for utilizing the 5D for video over the 7D. A full frame video just looks better than one that's cropped. I'm sure one can overcome that with being a bit creative but it's still a disadvantage.

@KenyaMusic1 for video or stills?

@KenyaMusic1 I did 2 music videos on 7D, I believe that 5d and 7d can do the job well, you just have to know how to use it.

So, in other words the 7D is crap in comparison to the 5D mark 2.

@ThePrivateJoker Erm... no? Did you watch the whole thing? Especially the conclusion?

@ThePrivateJoker The 5D is antiquated at this point. The 7d is far superior.

@metronomic1 'newer' does not imply 'superior'. IMAGE CROP anyone?

@metronomic1 LOL the 7D is NOT superior. Its all in the sensor.
5D = full frame.
7D = bells and whistles, but still aps sensor.
5D still wins.

@ThePrivateJoker Once again, the full frame myth. And it is indeed a myth.

@metronomic1 Young? lol Try both before bashing the 5D. Stop worshiping at the aps alter.

@ThePrivateJoker It's APS-C not APS and I have used both extensively. I prefer the 7D hands down.

@metronomic1 So have I and 5D wins. Get your cataract removed so you can see the difference.

You should try to label the ISO or Aperture etc, on the photos. ;)

@PhotosPassionYou fair comment. All were taken at F8, and I announce the ISO of each shot.

@thatnikonguy Yeah, but at 2:51 its hard to tell cause there's hardly any movement or changes, so it was kinda hard to tell
