  • hes a scary looking man

  • VEGAN FOR LIFE!!! And loving it!!! :)))))

  • @207LAB To be honest, I don't care one bit about that dude. He's clearly made up his mind and I'm not changing it. He ran his mouth, attacked others' way of life, and I spoke up. Don't like it? Oh well. And, to my knowledge, not even the Inuit lived solely off meat.

  • Let's not forget that certain Native American tribes lived off of meat for centuries. Were their traditions wrong?

  • Believe it or not, there is actually good meat to eat that's non-poisonous. This kind of livestock was raised on small, independent farms. Convenience is easier now more than ever because you can go to your local farmer's markets to purchase it. Also, vegetarians that don't already know have to realize that the vegetables you get at your mega food chain have less than half of the vitamins due to pesticides, travel time, etc.....then, if you cook them, you lose EVEN more vitamins. Go organic.

  • I love meat, but I love Ian Mackaye more.

  • @starchmonkey you should eat Ian Mackaye.

  • Dont eat beef...eat deer!! Venison as actualy better for you

  • I love how articulate he is compared to his interviews from the 80s.

  • You will destroy your health. You won't save innocent animals from being tortured. You'll actually still help animals being slaughtered. You'll loose muscle and gain fat.You can develop diabetes, heart disease, and other health problems due to lack of complete mineral chains in meat.Your brain will starve because it is not getting enough saturated fats. You'll stop growing because your not getting enough protein and essential vitamins.Eating innocent tortured plant life is better?

  • @skulldrix The fewer people eating meat, the fewer animals raised and slaughtered. How will continuing to eat meat HELP animals? Robert Cheeke, Mac Danzig, and most vegans and vegetarians I've met and know have very little body fat and many have a good bit of muscle (myself included). Eating large amounts of meat increases the chances of "diabetes, heart disease, and other health problems". A veg*n diet has been shown to lower the risk of cancer, heart disease, diabetes, etc.

  • @skulldrix Peanuts and coconut have plenty of saturated fat, not that it's really something you need much of. Your brain does need omega 3 and 6, which both flax and hemp are high in. Yesterday I had vegan refried beans on corn tortillas, a bag of trail mix, some almonds, and a banana / hemp smoothie and had well over 100g of protein, which is more than the 70 - 80g someone of my height and weight needs. You're an idiot.

  • @jon138x And if you actually watched EDGE, the movie, that's the main reason why alot of these guys that started the movement got out of the scene......because the people that followed it were rude, condescending, and completely judgmental towards others with different viewpoints or ways of life.....so, I say to you, DON'T BE THAT PERSON. respect everyone for christ's sake. I wouldn't judge you for what you eat. I certainly wouldn't call you an idiot for it.

  • @207LAB I called them an idiot because their entire post was bullshit, not because they eat meat.

  • @jon138x well, do you want people to actually listen to what you say, or resent you for name calling? If you want anyone to listen to you, don't be THAT GUY....be respectful, regardless of whether or not you think he's wrong. Alot more gets done that way.

  • He's right about convenience. I used to be veg, but I just fucking love eating steak and missed it too much.

  • I'm SxE but I'm not veg

    Greets from Poland.

  • im straight edge...the vegeterain thing. human beings were design to eat meat its in are nature. its in are mind and being straightedge i wanna be present in mind. killing animals in slaughter houses is bad..but its an improvement to what we did way back when. we would beat them repeatedly with rocks and such. todays methods are not perfect but there much better. and to improve more would cost alot of money no one has

  • @pbfattmatt It isn't. the factory conditions are fucking horrible. there are much better options, you just need to pay a bit more and eat a bit less meat.

  • @pbfattmatt actually, there are farmers markets now that grow animals that are treated well, raised well, and the meat is great...also, these market receive state aid, like EBT, food stamps, etc......it's becoming much easier to afford this food, plus, your helping out your local small time farmers buy purchasing their goods. This to me is a noble thing.

  • that animal died it was horrendous. back in the day we hit them with rocks and beat them till they died. the way the do it now is as bad or better. meat is murder were carnivorous we eat meat we also eat fruit and veggies we need balance

  • meat is delicious. it has nothing to do with "vitamins" or convenience. its a quality of life issue. I eat meat, and I have absolutely no qualms about admitting that it is indeed bad for me, but how much of life is compromised if you can't eat a good steak every once in a while, or eat a greasy hamburger? thats the point that vegetarians miss completely.

  • @NotNamedJones

Uh...not really? I at meat my whole life and recently became a vegetarian, and the quality of my life hasn't gone down because I can't eat a greasy cheeseburger or a steak. Because I can enjoy a greasy veggie burger (seriously...Boca burgers can get greasy as fuck, it's crazy). And I've always liked asian food more than steak anyway, and there are plenty of delicious options for me there. And I lost 80 pounds. So...maybe you're right. I don't see that point. I don't miss steak.

  • @TheRealFatassFilms are you so arrogant as to believe that YOUR personal experience speaks for an entire planet of people who do enjoy meat? come off it, you dickless sociopath.

  • @NotNamedJones

No. I know other people would have different reactions or feelings on being vegetarian. Can I ask how "how much of life is compromised if you can't eat a good steak every once in a while, or eat a greasy hamburger? thats the point that vegetarians miss completely" isn't advertising your viewpoints or personal experience as speaking for the entire mass of people who don't eat meat? I won't use illogical insults, I'll just call you a hypocrite.

  • @TheRealFatassFilms I'm not even speaking "for vegetarians". My point is that I've never once heard a vegetarian not use the lack of neccessity for meat as their arguement against it. They never consider the fact that it is simply something that people enjoy eating, therefore, its a quality of life issue for meat-eaters. get a clue. and just because you and the local Morrissey fanclub have had that particular experience with meat, doesn't make it a fact for arguement.

  • @NotNamedJones

I'd kill myself before I listened to the fucking Smiths. You said fairly generalized that life is compromised if you can't eat a steak. Not life is compromised if you love meat and can't eat a steak. That may have been what you meant but it's not what was said, you made a generalization whether you realized it or not. That's still ignorant.

  • @TheRealFatassFilms Actually, the simple and obvious point is that steak is a highly enjoyable meal for people that allow meat into their diet. Its not just the taste of it, but the occassions that usually come with it. Steak is often enjoyed with friends, family, with a good beer etc. Doesn't that sound something that attributes to quality of life to you? The fact that you can't understand simple context without specific expletives is not my problem....

  • @NotNamedJones Yeah. Friends and family are part of the quality of our lives. But not fucking steak. I ate tofurky with friends and family. The quality of my life is just as good as the quality of my family members who ate turkey. You didn't say that, and steak does not determine spending time with your family, so your point is entirely invalid.

  • @TheRealFatassFilms lol see, this is the point where its like I'm arguing with a child. I've already said it tastes good. the occassion of meals (including meat) brings people together. I'll put it another way, for people who like meat, there is an entire cultural lexicon to be enjoyed where meat is central to that, whether its the taste of it, the opportunity to go hunting, fishing, whatever. I'm thinking that at this point, you basically have your fingers in your ears, and your eyes closed...

  • @NotNamedJones

Alright, but you still never said, "I just think that the quality of my life personally would go down if I couldn't eat a steak". You said in a fucking absurd general statement, THE quality of life, apparently of all humanity, would go down if not for meat. You said LIFE is compromised. Not YOUR life or the lives of meat lovers. Just life in general. And again, I used to eat meat near exclusively. The culture doesn't change. And, as if all, or even most, meat eaters hunt.

  • @TheRealFatassFilms dude, I meant fully to say it in a general way. are you fool enough to believe I'M the only person in the world who likes meat? can't I speak for people who are on the same page as I am, just as you speak for vegetarians? you're blowing this out of proportions for this reason-you're a loser trying to win a fight over the fucking internet to feel good about yourself, and therefore, totally missing the point of a rather innocuous statement and stirring up hostility...

  • @TheRealFatassFilms ..also, if you don't think there is anything culturally significant to meat, you know NOTHING about the human race, the human experience, or history. ALOT would be lost without meat. that dead horse we've been beating around (pun intended) about quality of life would change, but so would culture AND industry. As for hunting, if meat is prohibited, hunting would be banned as well. Its a heirarchial structure. I don't hunt myself, but I defend the right of it and meat.

  • @TheRealFatassFilms also, to answer your constant spill about "how much would life be compromised without meat?"-I asked that fucking question in the first place. so here it is-if I couldn't eat meat, it would hardly be catastrophic, but I would really miss a good burger from time to time, or a steak dinner occassionally on Sundays when I visit my parents, or my Mom's exquisite Turkey on Thanksgivings. I don't HAVE to have those things, but I enjoy them, and would miss them.

  • @TheRealFatassFilms ..and who said anything about the Smiths? The Smiths are a band, and a pretty amazing one, btw, the fact that you say you'd kill yourself before listening to them kind of robs you of all credibility-try listening to them, you might find something worthwhile. I'm talking about Morrissey, the guy who you'd probably dress up as Count Dracula and shove cuccumbers up your ass to get a sign autograph for.

  • @NotNamedJones

Oh, Morrissey? Sorry, I got confused. I thought you meant the guy in The Smiths.

    Oh, wait...

  • @TheRealFatassFilms oh? so now you're implying that The Smiths and Morrissey aren't distinct entities? thats really really smart. I bet you think "Blondie" is the name of a solo artist as well.

  • @TheRealFatassFilms see, this is what intrigues me....whenever I hear Vegans talk, they always target beef.....how about poultry? what about fish? not all meant eaters consume BEEF. I eat fish and chicken. Seafood perhaps?

  • @207LAB I was just saying hamburger and steak because those were the two foods the person I was arguing with mentioned in his initial comment. I don't target any meats, because I'm not against the consumption of meat, I simply choose not to. Nothing ethical to it.

  • tofu sucks !!!! lol thats why im not veggie

  • i'm a drunk vegan and i love this. ian is a solid dude.

  • Comment removed

  • lol 1 reason why to be a vegetarian.

    1. I like meat.

Red Robin is really good man.

  • I fucking love this!

  • What about if I love meat and beer? And i'm not talking about stuffing myself with burgers and getting drunk. I'm talking about doing a barbecue with a really nice steak and a cold beer. I do not deslike vegetarian food, but I couldn't be eating just that for the rest of my life.

  • animals have the right to be tasty !!!! anti edge - support your local drug dealers !!!

  • support PETA

    thumbs up !

    SUppOrt PETA

  • Being a vegetarian is just like supporting the meat industry. Dairy is just bad meat. Veganism is the way to go. Forreal.

  • @SalvadorOne23 I'm vegan, but don't say dairy is bad meat... It funds the veal industry... saying that sounds naive.

  • Meat and beer tastes good. Food and drink wise nothing beats a bbq'd porterhouse steak with a baked potato and an ice cold beer to wash it down imo. Moderation is the key. Too much of anything ruins it. If you wanna be straight edge, vegan, born again, muslim, or whatever that's great. Just don't ram your opinion down my throat in an attempt to make me abide by your lifestyle/worldview. I wouldn't do that to you, so don't do it to me.

  • @SuperStrik9 It's not just about health though, for me it's more about knowingly condoning the torture and abuse of animals....

  • CONVINIENCIE. thahs the excuse for meet eaters "sxe"

  • vegans are scarier

  • there actually is another way to get nutrients in meat, there called vitamins

  • protein you skinny twig asshole. that is why you shouldnt be a fagitarian

  • @szeilea you are an idiot. meat actually has less protein than some vegetarian things, numb nuts

  • @Yuriqiu lol oh is that so? keep talking please, your diggin you own hole here.

  • Every time he opens his mouth I just want to give him a huge hug.

  • I like the taste of meat, sue me.

  • meat tastes good, that's the only reason.

  • did anyone else see the christmas cup at 1:39 lol

  • God wouldn't have made animals to goddamn delicious if we weren't meant to deep fry them.

  • I am an adult punker that grew up listening to Fugazi. I am 35 now, i was a little too young to know Minor Threat in the 80s. My wife is a vegetarian. I never paid much attention to my health until i met my wife. I use to think i wasn't eating so bad but compared to what i eat today, thanks to my wife's guidance, it's totally different. I'm still not a vegetarian but i sure as hell eat ALOT more fruits and vegetables then i used to !

  • How many so called hardcore kids have whacked it to this do you think?

  • @brousteen Probably none

  • im not a vegetarian because i'm a teenager with a huge appetite, and meat is more filling than fruits and vegetables

  • Makes sense.

  • Ian Mackaye is the man!!

  • I don't care if people are vegetarian or not, but is he saying that nobody ever gave him the argument from anatomy? We evolved as omnivores. Just look at our dental structure. We can now get all nutritional needs from other sources, but our bodies evolved to consume meat.

  • @drbassie You're an idiot

  • Comment removed

  • @drbassie If our bodies evolved to consume meat then we wouldn't have to cook it so we could digest it properly

  • @cianjackbyrne

Not true. The Inuit still eat almost a purely meat diet, which is eaten raw. A lot of Middle Eastern cultures eat raw goat.

  • I DON'T DO IT OUTTA CONVENIENCE I DO IT CUZ DEAD FLESH TASTES AWSOME.

Also My friend has a tattoo of the McDonald's Archs with a banner going around it that says "For every animal you don't eat, I'm going to eat three" nice fucking nice take that u silly Cabbage Patch Kids (jk I like u vegans ur foods good to dead flesh jus tastes better and I like making fun of u)

  • @TakBonez You're an idiot

  • @TakBonez If you wanna get real, you'd have to kill the animal yourself to eat it. To be consequent.

  • ian speaks the fucking truth

  • i loooove vegetables!!! especially when they are flavored with meat.

  • I luv this man XD

  • that pretty much depends on what you eat. sure if you eat nothing but pizza you will lose muscle and gain fat but if you work out and eat the right shit then theres no problem. look at John Joseph from the cro mags, he's vegan....

  • cause being a vegetarian is bad for you

  • @bobdylan4evr Being a vegetarian is actually far healthier then eating meat......almost comically so.

  • @sataniswaitin its comical that people still believe that. if you dont eat meat you lose muscle gain fat and you should also consider the fact the human immune system is fat dependant

  • @bobdylan4evr If you don't eat protein or exercise, you lose muscle mass. Meat is not the only source of protein, and animal products are not the only source of fat. Not to mention the factory farm system that produces most of the meat modern people eat contributes to massive animal suffering and environmental destruction.

  • @Pilaf1984 you're right about factory farming but why not mention the effects it has on people? you can say we have a choice not to eat it but for some of us we don't. unfortunately in this country people have to feed their kids what they can afford to. and most people aren't aware of the conditions their meat is under before it gets to them, or before its even slaughtered. if more people knew about that stuff more people would probably make vegetarian choices.

  • Respond to this video... but eating properly raised, slaughtered and handled meat isn't bad for you in moderation. its not all about the fat and protein either. there are a ton of amino acids, that aid in plethora of essential biological processes, unique to animal food products.

  • @sataniswaitin yes it is I used to be a Seventh Day Adventist and they r sum of the healthiest people out there jus look up shit about LOma Linda CA and the SDA Church but not all SDA's r vegan or vegterian sum jus don't eat the foods the bIble tells us not to.

  • @sataniswaitin yeah thats the rhetoric, try thinking for yourself. that was the entire point and its lost

  • @sataniswaitin sadly you are wrong. Human body evolved eating meat which is why most vegetarians develop weak bones and other symptoms related to lack of proteins. Not that this can't be accounted for by a good vegetarian but most veggies don't.

  • @pplus0440 That's all bullshit. Protein doesn't only come in meat, dumbass.

  • @sataniswaitin it absolutely is better for you, as long as you do it right. Most of the vegetarians I've known have been pretty phlegmatic overall. The biggest problem I see is that they're usually sedentary, smokers, and they're basically anorexic. The craziest extreme was a guy I went to college with who called himself a "vegetarian". This guy was a falling down alcoholic, and his diet consisted of vitamin supplement pills and grilled cheese sandwhiches. crazy stuff.

  • @sataniswaitin not necessarily...
