  • I'm trying this next week in my smart car

  • 5:22 - he's leaving with the keys in his pocket :-D

  • I'd rather just stick with my Jeep that's half the price of this. :p

  • Hey Clarkson im a Bongo Bongo tree, im very offended >:(

  • "where that green bit is" its all fucking green

  • woahhw!!!!

  • 4:22 - onwards: Dear Land Rover. I have a name for your next invention on four wheels: The "Conqueror".

  • Congrats

  • you feather the gas offroad especially in a stock vehicle, i got a 1995 nissan d21 four cylinder 2wd and ive had lifted trucks on 44 inch tires get stuck BEHIND me

but i do enjoy watching ur show .

  • 3:38 onwards The Rugby World Cup Anthem! :D

  • @rockingrugger Originally a hymn called "I vow to thee my country" but yes it is also the Rugby World Cup Anthem and it is pretty epic =)

  • @L999WAG Ahh, okay. I really do love it! :D

  • heh XD that i bet not even the old Holden Jackaroo would ever survive going that high up xD.

  • he likes it cuz its english

  • I wonder what the designer and engieneers of the Land Rover would think of this

  • Dear Bear Grylls,

not that i have anything against your methods, but i prefer Jeremy's.

  • A 1,007 foot mountain? That's pathetic. The mountain that is literally a half-an-hour drive from where I used to live (Town of about half-a-million) mind you, was 14,110 feet, and town, at about 6,500 feet. And there's a flat road to the top. From one side of town to the other, there's about a 1,000 elevation change.

  • @WhoHowWhereWhenWhat well seeing as ur local drive up it and film it... until then shh and stop slating and enjoy top gear...

  • @WhoHowWhereWhenWhat So what, could you drive a car up that?

  • what a noob come to new zealand my 2 wheel drive ute can do that dump english it is just a hill not a big hill just a hill

    Stop being an arrogant prick.

  • I dont think my mum could do that in our one

  • The rescue team had a Jeep rubicon cause they didnt wanna get stuck haha OIIIIIIIO

  • LC Amazon would be way better

  • Comment removed

  • If you do something similar in Italy, green people will put in jail for the next 100 years. Btw still most of the people which buy a Defender can not afford a real Range Rover which is 10 times better (and expansive too)

  • @ansolfa don't knock the defender, it's damn good for the money!

  • i gotta get one of those.. cuz u knw i gotta try it on Mt.everest..

  • In Britain it's an enormous mountain! In Canada it's a 1000 foot poorly named hill.

  • @pomink yeah, he is over doing it a bit. Perhaps he should've taken it up snowdon...

  • how he got it down?

  • I wish i was Jeremy,Lucky fellow.

  • 2:32 - see that's a tasty beverage, but see they didn't pay us enough to tell you the name

  • Did he try the hill decent feature on the back side of the Mountain?

  • Anyone have any idea about the short guitar song at 3:21 ?

    It's cool :)

  • Whats the piece of music called at the end? ;)

  • @Dougrey1272 It's "The World in Union" the Rugby World Cup anthem (:

  • Still no CAR has

  • That land rover looks right at home. :)

  • It's lovely to see a jaded old campaigner like Jeremy have a moment of pure speechless awe.

  • I normally hate when they stray away from real sports cars, but jeez that is really impressive.

  • It's pulling the whole of Scotland! Bloody hell!

  • licking a rock, nice Jeremy

  • wth is a bonga-bonga tree xD

lol this is yi love jeremy...

  • this is sooo funny with him trying to drink the moisture from the rock lmao

  • power, power, power, power, power, power, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come o- oh.......... not again...

    xD

  • thumbs up if you've ever eaten the bark off a Bonga-Bonga Tree 0:48

  • clarkson for man vs wild!

  • @2:50, wheels are dirty, then clean again!

  • a race between tht disco and a defender?

  • hahahahha hilarious : ITS PULLING THE WHOLE SCOTLAND XD

  • I want them to try out an Aramada

But I would LOVE to see that car slowly but surely fall off the side of that cliff.

    Chuffed, to bits.

  • its pulling the whole of scotland :D

  • AWESOME!!!!! Who took them trees ??? ;)

  • jerremy is sucker and discovery is poor offroad car

  • hope fully he did not forget to put it on park.

  • keeps gettin stuck cause the weight and terrain

  • People buy Land Rovers for the exclusivity and tradition behind the brand. It separates one from the people driving American and Japanese SUVs. It's something hard to understand at glance, but it's one main reason why upper class people "bother" to make money.

  • @torende I would buy it mainly for its off road abilities. Such a great car. Would love to compare the LR4 to Jeep GC 5.7 Overland 2011, same ground clearance and aswell a nice off road setup.

  • @Razor4ever I would, too for the same reason. I'm just talking about those who don't bring it out of the urban jungle, which are most LR owners. +1 on the comparison. Def worth seeing, if/when ever.

  • I vow to thee my country

  • I don't know how reliable Land Rovers/Range Rovers are in the UK, but here in the United States they are constantly voted one of the most unreliable vehicles. Even the rover guys say "you have to get them fixed at least twice a year".

I didn't see anything difficult in that climb. Any Jeep, Xterra, or Land Cruiser ect. would have made it. The Jeep would have done it effortlessly though.

  • @chairmnofthboard

im kinda wondering how easy a rubicon would have made that look.

  • @finegentlemanstudios My guess would be effortless. But the jeep in no luxury vehicle.

  • @chairmnofthboard They're viewed as being pretty unreliable here too but to understand why they're popular you really need to understand the UK. It's a very small place. Only the size of Oregon but with 62,000,000 people. As a result you're never very far from a breakdown truck or a dealership. As a result people don't really care so much if they break because it's not like you're going to get stranded in the middle of a desert. People just want brilliant offroad performance and some luxury.

  • @Nosteratees That's the same thing here. The people who buy Range Rovers / Land Rovers are usually in the city (Orange Co, Los Angeles, Miami, etc), They never see off road. Why have to bother with constant problems and repairs (regardless of how close to a dealer you are) when you can buy something more reliable, less expensive, just as capable and just as nice.

Seems like the only reason people buy range rovers / land rovers are because they are expensive.

  • makes you proud to be scottish with scenery like that .

clarkson actually locks the car and takes keys with him and car had to be left there :D

    free disco any1 ha

  • @liamcfc67 the gas in it will soon be more valuable than the car ;)

  • @liamcfc67 i remeber he said that in another ep i think

  • @gardmans1

I think a Wrangler will not get stuck like this. Simply because the car is not as heavy as a pig!!! XD

  • thumbs up if u had an erge to push the car over the edge at the end!

  • Its all about the tires!

  • I would love to see them take a car up the Pen Y Fan in Wales, would make SAS selection much much easier =P

  • @L999WAG Hummm the fan dance! Would trade to be at the story arms right now tho! beats the hole i'm in!

  • it needs boggers

  • @PaintYourOffice you've gotta be blind mate

  • @ArsenalFisherman oh wait now that i look closer i do see slight movement sorry :/

  • Now try doing that on Mount Everest!

  • can anyone tell me the name of the song that is playing while the helicopter cam crew is flying away from the mountain at the end of the challenge? That song definitely fits the accomplishment that was achieved perfectly. Brings a tear to your eye to see that.

  • @KriegerAurelius World In Union, sung by Bryn Terfel & Shirley Bassey

  • @KriegerAurelius That's what I'd like to know also! I think it's an old hymn...

  • @behlec Jupiter by Gustav Holst

  • @bencedars Thanks mate, would never have found it without your help!

  • what this car does is bring civilization and comfort to bits of the world that would otherwise be difficult and inhospitable. awesome. makes me feel like a proud dad :-)

  • My dad has bought the new Disco 4 a couple of weeks ago, and it's LOVELY!!!! A lot better then this one!!

  • lol its pulling the whole of Scothland!

  • @Flo4u2u you do know england was one of the leading world car manufacturers and pretty much made the industry what it is today dumbass

  • nice lion king music near end.. dont ya think? very soothing.

  • 76 guys have a Range Rover

  • if nobody's been up there before then how come there is a monument there

  • @lamborghiniman1996 4:36 he says 'no car has ever been up here before'. I guess lots of people have ventured up on foot over the years or helicopters may have dropped people off up there, hence the monument

  • @thedoctor007dfw it's not a monument, it's a triangulation pillar

  • @nedster01 In your original post you said monument, where did you find out about it being a triangulation pillar? Google search etc?

  • I love the Ray Mears references

  • wat is the song at 3:22, the guitar piece?

  • @dmoorf I think that is house of the rising sun

I love the schottish scenery in this film BTW. it is spectacular

  • Not particularly impressive. A Cruiser would do it. Fuck, a Landrover 110 that'll be on the market surplus soon enough will do it for about $3000AU. A GWagon would do it.

I honestly don't know why I'm posting this. Anyone who cares knows this already.

  • What is the name of the song at the end?

  • @1234DRPEPAJUNKIE4321 Shirley Bassey - World In Union

  • Use a landcruiser prado 2011 it is factory fitted wit crawl control it will beat landy

  • drive it off the cliff!

  • a land cruiser 76 would do the trick any day and with no 4x4 kits..

    but what a good landy..

  • what an idiotic comment... i followed the link to your comments because i realized what you are, a troll. i suggest making some friends and going out once in a while.

  • If it's true that no vehicle's ever been up there before, then it is either because the property is off limits to the general public or no one had ever bothered to do it before. None of the terrain shown was particularly difficult, and most any 4WD could have done the same thing.

  • @MaximRecoil you need to get a life! all your pathetic comments are shown on your page. either looking for an argument, moaning, or just generally being offensive. grow up ffs!

  • @thisissick22 Did you seriously just use the terms "pathetic" and "get a life" to someone that you are following around like a whipped pup? Just so you know, there is nothing more pathetic on the internet than being obsessed with someone to the point that you follow them around; especially over something so trivial as losing an argument.

You should get used to losing arguments BTW, because you are not bright and you have a reading disability as well.

  • @MaximRecoil no following round. all your comments are posted on your page which i visited after being unable to reply on the original vid. it seems you spend ALL your free time looking at clips in order to argue with other people. who's the sad one? LOL

  • @thisissick22

"all your comments are posted on your page which i visited"

Like I said: following me around. LOL @ you being obsessed with me. Unfortunately for you, your obsession isn't going to pay off. You're not going to be able to "get me back" (lol) for trouncing you in an argument; you're too stupid and your reading disability doesn't help matters either. The only thing you can do is sit there in the peanut gallery to which you've been relegated, and fume.

  • @MaximRecoil you mad? lol quote mining? how pathetic. i clearly stated the reason i went to your page. or do you have a "reading disability"? oh well, continue arguing with people on the internet. i imagine it fills a hole in your life...

  • @thisissick22 "Mad"? About what?

There is no "quote mining" in my comment. Your reason for going to my profile doesn't matter, you still had to *follow* links to my comments from there, simpleton. You didn't follow them because you had something relevant to say, such as having an argument to present; you followed them to make peanut gallery-type comments because you were sore over losing an argument. In other words, you developed an obsession with an internet poster; and that is pathetic.

  • @thisissick22 "oh well, continue arguing with people on the internet. i imagine it fills a hole in your life..."

So says the person who is ... arguing on the internet (lol).

    You + an idiot = 2 idiots.

  • @MaximRecoil ah yes. but i'm only arguing with you. you seem to do it with everyone!

  • I believe if they fitted more apprpriate tires, the land ro disco would've done better.

  • @algeriamacgyver

it has some good off-road tires already

  • @CaliCal68

sure, land rover know what to do, but the disco could've had better grip !

  • I have a jeep and a landy and i've driven the military humvee several times in the tropics. Listen to me... If you get in a middle of a war and you're staring at these 3 cars.... you take the humvee if its got a 50cal on top but other than that... take the land rover if you wanna survive. thats all i can say... :) I'm not even gonna talk jeep.

  • Scotland is beautiful...bucket list? I think so.

  • @gardmans1 Nope, because a jeep has already beat it... not in quality, but in capiliblity but only because of the huge selection of aftermarket parts

  • @gardmans1 i beg to differ. the land rover has the wheel base of a hummer as we all know is good for well getting shot at. the jeep is a workers car it gets the job done to what it is supposed to do ( not the newer ones) and if anyone has seen top gear with a jeep please let me know. also i would like to see the footage of him going back down

  • i could get my discovery 1 up there! he should have let the tires down for the muddy grass

  • Land rover sucks, getting stuck in fucking grass, and trim pieces falling off and shit. They werent 4x4ing they were winching up grassy hills

  • @sasquatch955 ; You must be a dum yank? :)

  • @sasquatch955

yeagh, most of modern offroader are cars which you may be sad about if ya brocke the bumper. on a disco II or 1, you'de ride on the bumper easilly !

  • Amen!!! Taking a Disco I or II into the Colorado Rockies is the best!!! I have seen way too many Jeeps get stuck even with lift kits, I think they need to just stay home on their low grade dirt roads! Hahaha.

  • I think most cars could have gotten up there apart from poser cars like hummers, but your average Jeep, explorer, or even land cruiser could have

  • where is part 2

  • @crazyulah its up

  • @gardmans1 Landrovers are nicer inside but more capible? "Two Jeep Wrangler Unlimited vehicles climbed 6,646 meters (21,804 feet) above sea level to the rim of Ojos del Salado - the highest altitude ever reached by a four-wheeled vehicle Accomplishment certified by Guinness World Records" I think the world's highest volcano beats a grassy hill in Scotland.

  • what season is this from

  • Sorry, but the only reason anyone would buy a Jeep is because they couldn't afford a Land Rover.

  • @deutscherjoel land rovers are overpriced

  • music at 3:40 is '' i vow to thee my country''

  • @jbs1861993 thanks

  • @gardmans1 more reliable and at the fraction of the price. And if something breaks you don't need to wait 8 months for parts.

  • Anyone knows the music at approx 3:40? It seems to have been a big inspiration for both the Elder Scrolls Oblivion soundtrack as well as the trailer music for Civilization V.

  • @extraction706 It's actually from "Jupiter" from the Planet Suite by Gustav Holst. It was later adopter into the hymn "I vow to thee my country".

They actually cut it into pieces in this film, part of it can be heard around 1:20

  • @extraction706 it's called Jupiter (:

  • At least Jeep is still American owned......Oh, wait. But I would rather buy something from a Fiat owned company than drive a Tata.

    Hey, Nice Tata!!

Get over yourselves, Brits. You needed help twice to keep the Huns off your backs. Who gave it? That's right-Sloppily designed, cheaply built American crap operated by the ancestors of the folks who took an entire continent from you.

    ....Awful nice of us, what?

  • whatsssss .... with the flower pin they're wearing?

  • Shoulda took a H1 hummer:) Fuck Jeep and their cheap ass shit, uggh

  • @Niche79 Hummer is as good at offroad as a BMW M3

  • @nutzw1 take a H1 hummer out there and say that, lol its not a military vehicle for its name.

  • The cameramen are amazing at TG!!

  • Great job........ now try getting down the mountain lol

  • Engage Edmund Hillary Mode!!!

  • fizzy drink!!!!!

  • I totally get what he meant by the green point

  • I give notice. Remember to use handbrake on top of mountain!

  • To boldly go where no car has ever gone before.

  • hang on hasnt this just shown that it couldnt get up there without help?

  • PLAY FROM 1:02 TO 1:06 AGAIN AND AGAIN...JEREMY IS PRETTY GOOD RAPER.IT FITS PERFECTLY TO THIS PROPELLERHEADS MUSIC :)

  • disel cantbe combust with a match

  • @sahiel5 -- (Roll Eyes) -- WhateveH ....

  • Behold the fundamental difference between Americans and the rest of the world: That mountain has only been touched by the off-road-ish Land Rover comedically piloted by Jeremy. We Americans would be tearing up and down that thing in our trucks and jeeps all day long. No “Terrain Response®” controls needed thank you. But the Rover is still a great suv.

  • Does anyone know the name of the piece starting at 3:40?

  • @bonzaiberryblitz

    jupiter the bringer of jollity

most of this video was this piece

  • Thumbs up for those who were looking at the car and not the giant view over scotland.

  • @Melsonator i might have been if this car was any good looking

  • i love Clarksons s
