That may be true, but I did. You're right, i have nothing currently to back it... but I did test on this game for months and months... so you can imagine how much I played it. I know I got at least 85k... but I want to say 92k... though I can't remember for sure.
I've hit a plateau and I'd love to see what kind of techniques you used to get that kind of score. Were you playing the PAL version? Was it in vs mode or 1 player? Tetris attack or Panel de Pon?
The reason I disbelieve is that I am still far from 80k and I've been playing pretty frequently for years and years.
Was def TA... that would be pretty nuts to do on Panel de Pon; if I remember correctly, there was no 'slow down' on it, making it quite a bit more difficult. The only suggestion I'd have is to make sure you're doing as many horizontal breaks as you can, rather than vertical ones. You basically need to clear the board several times in one combo.... and that's extremely tough to do with vertical breaks, as it seperates the board into clumps.
85k => if you did 4 chains you'd have to have at least 7 bonuses per 13 chain (on easy) because 7 bonuses would most likely not be feasible on normal and definitely not on hard. That means you'd have Like 7-9 bonuses within 11-13 on the hits, meaning you would have broken pretty much the entire screen, from being at the very top on 2PTT. Not going to happen unless you're level 7 CPU and you shadowswap constantly, even then not likely at all from shear randomness of pieces.
@Madmallard17 I actually have a VHS tape still from years ago where I clear the whole board (save for a few pieces) multiple times. Wasn't the 85k round, but it was close. =)
You're a very good player. Record I saw for x2 speed is about 54k. Not many know of the trick to getting a few more thousand points after landing the 13th combo..

Nice, apart from the painful ?x on the first chain. It almost looked like it would stop you from getting the 5th 13x for a while.
