If you haven't been keeping up with hardware, now PCs have new intel Core i3/5/7 CPUs, with 4gb ram usually standard and a 8gb ram cap. And to get an i5/7 on a mac, you have to pay $2000 for a mac pro. So if you want something that isn't outdated, you have to pay TWICE as much. And workstations (which the mbp competes with) are more powerful and cost less then the mpb.

It's called an HP dv6, and it also comes with intel cpus. And if I want, I can run osx86 for cheaper then apple hardware!

I just know that I can't install a Hackintosh, because I don't have a set of Hardware that is compatible. For example my RAID5 is a problem. Maybe there is a way to have a RAID5 but only if it is made by Apple. So there sure are restrictions.

As I told you I would really like to try out the OSX but I'm not planning to buy all new hardware, because my PC cost enough already and is fast. But regrettably I can't install it on this hardware.
I do know that Macs have good graphic cards, but still, after 5 years or so you may want a new one and then you have to buy a Nvidia card.

A mac mini is a full computer, it has all the hardware: CPU, GPU, RAM, Drives. Just not a monitor a mouse or a keyboard. So the real hardware is in there, just some accessory is needed.

u can edit photos and edit videos on windows computers obviously, but on a mac u can do just that but with professional programs, look at all the top people in youtube subscribed list, i have only seen one that doesn't use final cut pro, aperture is amazing

Blu-Ray's won't last more than 5 more years in the age of digital downloads.

@xyz98741 it needn't be over 25gb, you can easily compress it to make it smaller. blu ray quality can't be higher than Full 1080p HD, and that's all you need to download. there shouldn't be any reason for it to be over 25GB, maybe 10Gb but that isn't even necessary either, how do HD DVR's do it then? in 5 years home internet speeds will probably be 2-3x as fast, just like how they've increased from 5 years ago. it used to impossible to upload youtube videos, now we can do that in full 1080p HD
@KingofComputing Video bit rate defines video quality. Typical blu-ray titles have anywhere between 30-40 Mbps video, and take up 30-40 GB. Whereas, the video you download over the internet is a dumbed down version, yea sure, both have the same resolution of 1920x1080, but true blu-ray video is 10x smoother (no video compression artifacts) due to the super high video bit rate.
Most of the developing world is still stuck at 256 kbps, it'll be a long time before they catch up, 5-10 years

@KingofComputing Just checked iTunes HD movie service, they only offer them in 720p, file sizes around 4 GB at low audio and video bit-rates. Even they realize that downloading a 20 GB 1080p video on par with blu-ray isn't realistic yet, due to the low download speeds around. Until that happens, blu-ray will be around, well, they'll be around anyway cause of PS3 games and PCs!!

It's encoded in 480i video but it still has more video info and raw potential than a so-called HD movie download for the simple fact that it has 4 times more data. A 480i video stream can be “up-scaled” to a 1080p 1920×1080 display with glorious results and I guarantee you that it looks better than that so-called HD 720p movie you spent at least 3 hours downloading over the Internet while your family complains the Internet connection is really slow.

in the current year/ past few months ATI have overthrown GeForce again, so ATI is pretty solidly the best, (XFX as manufacturer that is a cert at least) and Intel still is the cream of the crop in the pc cpu market, though AMD have taken all their others. so cpu is contested.

@THEMAN9851 A mac with the same specifications as another PC costs about a third to half of the price more. I have seen it in some shops already. As I told you I would really like to try out the OSX but I'm not planning to buy all new hardware, because my PC cost enough already and is fast. But regrettably I can't install it on this hardware.
I do know that Macs have good graphic cards, but still, after 5 years or so you may want a new one and then you have to buy a Nvidia card.

@THEMAN9851 You can use about the same chips and stuff from the same company (NVIDIA) and install another OS, so it really doesn't have much of a difference in quality, and to pay much more just for a nice case and design is kind of stupid.
I think it would be better if the OS was available without the hardware. It would sure help OSX to spread, so I wonder why apple doesn't make it possible to install it anywhere...

Blu-Ray's won't last more than 5 more years in the age of digital downloads.

@xyz98741 it needn't be over 25gb, you can easily compress it to make it smaller. blu ray quality can't be higher than Full 1080p HD, and that's all you need to download. there shouldn't be any reason for it to be over 25GB, maybe 10Gb but that isn't even necessary either, how do HD DVR's do it then? in 5 years home internet speeds will probably be 2-3x as fast, just like how they've increased from 5 years ago. it used to impossible to upload youtube videos, now we can do that in full 1080p HD

@KingofComputing Video bit rate defines video quality. Typical blu-ray titles have anywhere between 30-40 Mbps video, and take up 30-40 GB. Whereas, the video you download over the internet is a dumbed down version, yea sure, both have the same resolution of 1920x1080, but true blu-ray video is 10x smoother (no video compression artifacts) due to the super high video bit rate.
Most of the developing world is still stuck at 256 kbps, it'll be a long time before they catch up, 5-10 years

Even they realize that downloading a 20 GB 1080p video on par with blu-ray isn't realistic yet, due to the low download speeds around. Until that happens, blu-ray will be around, well, they'll be around anyway cause of PS3 games and PCs!!

It's encoded in 480i video but it still has more video info and raw potential than a so-called HD movie download for the simple fact that it has 4 times more data. A 480i video stream can be “up-scaled” to a 1080p 1920×1080 display with glorious results and I guarantee you that it looks better than that so-called HD 720p movie you spent at least 3 hours downloading over the Internet while your family complains the Internet connection is really slow.

in the current year/ past few months ATI have overthrown GeForce again, so ATI is pretty solidly the best, (XFX as manufacturer that is a cert at least) and Intel still is the cream of the crop in the pc cpu market, though AMD have taken all their others. so cpu is contested.

Sony Vaio is like the best PC brand you can get though, great build and very reliable and with it using Windows it will be better for gaming than a mac would. Although you could just run bootcamp.

Wow, I've just seen the ratings for this video.
Looks like Mac fans got huffy that the Vaio was a more informed purchase.

@notisrhcp It doesn't run most professional engineering and business programs.
That's why you see guys like me with Windows, it just runs what I want.
OSX is ok, it's not better though.

@G1NZOU mac os is more standable. And it runs lots of prof. programs...Logic Pro, Final cut, Aperture!! Many of the movies you see at the cinema are edited by final cut.

@notisrhcp Actually I was talking about Autodesk and Robcomm (Windows 3.1 version)
I'm not saying Macs are crap, they're very good premium grade PCs.
It's just that for most peoples needs, either a Mac is a waste of money or doesn't have some features that Windows has.
Both OSX and Win7 are great operating systems, I like the design of Vaios personally though and Windows suits my mix of needs (Engineering programs, ePSXe, Crysis and other games).
