They were incorporating sightings from their time and adding this mystical aspect to a mystical theme, the mythological jesus. This has the intended effect of adding a deeper and more mysterious mystical element to the theme of a mythological savior, a christ being.

I was refering to the connection with the bible, not the cave paintings, Egypt. I am not attacking your idea, just ammending it with a different perspective about bible myth painters. These other ancient cultures were merely recoding what they saw. Flying vehicles have always been seen, because the occupants have always been observing us. Sorry Carl, it appears you don't understand my english very well. I'm for ya' not agin' ya! The painters were reflecting on that myth with their own sightings!
It's absolute true,that there are various references to "strange flying objects" in the bible ...,but no one seems to be interested in them !! some ,of the illustrations,that You use,may be doubtful,but they are fitting to this theme !! And so it's ok using them ...
