west pier seems mmuch more grand than brighton pier and the second fire couldnt have done much cos it was alredy completly burnt out! stupid arsonists

i think i know what happened. my mum was there at the time i think? :/ someone was smoking i think and so it then court fire and then burnt to the ground. i think they should re-build it!

I've been to Brighton about 15 years ago. I think this pier was already nearly demolished those days. It was an unused pier. So not a big lost I think. Probably it could collapse in a stormy weather.

A theory by many people from brighton was that it was the palace pier mob, because there were plans for the west pier to be redone and back in buisness, fairly long time plans i would assume.

i strongly suspect this to be true, it does seem kind of convinient that just after the objections from the owners of the other pier were quashed by the council and planning permission was granted, it burns down, way too convinient.

yh i live in brighton and it wasnt the brighton peir that was burned down.. this is footage of the west peir. the victorian, sea eroded old peir. now the peir just lies out to sea practicaly gone, the brige to it collapesed and all the legs holding it up have snapped..
