I love how they made most of territories potential new countries, instead of just becoming dull rebels... If Greek territory revolts, it becomes Greece, and so on.

To bad they didn't make same thing with Serbia (which became independent i that history period)... I'd love to be Austrian, and then conquer Serbian province from stupid Ottomans, make it revolt and TA-DAM i got my motherland as my protectorate.

I disagree, because in the game Portugal possess only 2 regions and Denmark - 4. Guess what happened if they were major factions? More loading time between rounds. The developers just had to round up the most important factions of the time (1700 - 1799) and it was those that are availible and make other factions passive so that those that doesn't have top of the line computers could play the game aswell.

Persia existed up until 1935 when it was renamed Iran. And with a mod you can play as Persia as well as any of the other factions.

wtf is this lol. They put in Sweden instead of Denmark. Denmark had much more to say in that time. We were a colonist country. We had islands in the carribean and we colonies in Southafrica and Indian. What did sweden do expect got thier asses owned by the russians? And the polish to say that too.

The game is where all the action happened. Sweden was a big part in the 18th century (1700-) and Karl XII where on a campaign for land. I think it's much harder to take land in Balticum and Poland than just take ships to Africa and kill natives.

Well I believe that you can only play them in the Road to Indapendance campaign (seperate part campaign) however I was just recently playing as the russians and wanted to change my monarchy to a republic so I started a rebellion in moscow and won. My flags changed to the modern russian flag with just Red, white and blue stripes without the golden boxed eagle. Perhaps if you start a rebellion in London and choose the rebels side you can become the states. Haven't tested that out yet.

you can, though it takes a while, and theres no garuntee that you or one of the AI factions will do it in time, so modding can be faster ,,,, but mind you true total war players will take the time to beat the crap out of them first! :)

Yeah, you're right about that. Our navy was taken by the english, and Denmark was even smaller at that time than it is now..

The only great thing Denmark accomplished in the revolution era was Tycho Brahe's picture of the world, and that he was the first to claim the earth being globe formed, and not flat.

BTW total war is the best series of stratigy games ever made, and i like the way the creative assembly and SEGA has made the last three cronological. Rome > medieval > revolution and colony :)

That's not true (about colonies). Most Euro nations that are playable including india nations had no colonies in the new world and yet were still playable. Poland, Austria, Prussia, Russia, Sweden, the list goes on of playable factions with no colonies in Americas. They were picked because of there importance during that time in general. Empire: Total War is not just about Americas. It's also about europe and india. Sweden for example was of economic important and influence.

Ugh, that's a horrible idea no offense. Total War series are not meant for modern shooters because they diddn't stick in a line which is what TW is about. Having many units and many soldiers in the unit. It's too complicated to do WW2 in a Total War game. If at all possible.

They will either do a exp pack for Empire or make Rome 2: Total War or Shogun 2: Total War.
