  • fake!!!

  • First, what a waste of an AMAX projo. they're designed for tight groupings at 800+ yards. A 25 cent API tip instead of a $2 amax would have yielded better results at such a short range. Second, 50 bmg's are only exagerated by people that know nothing about them or have ever even shot one. These rounds have incredible energy. Getting hit with one in the head at 1500 yards would be the same as a 44 magnum at point blank. I've put holes in 2" plate steel that look like they were drilled with a bit.

  • @thomasbhunter68 He was not trying to show the damage he was just showing the damage that it does NOT does the damage people claim

  • The ballistics gel is so scared of a .50BMG it shits itself at 0:09 haha

  • Are you sure this was a 50 cal

  • lol all of those people saying that it doesn't show much don't know how much the power of this bullet is exaggerated. Take call of duty 4 for example: in the game it blows the WHOLE arm of off a badguy (just using a popular game as an example, don't really think the game is that great....). Tthis vid shows that exploding people, or ripping off limbs won't happen in a lifetime.

  • @shadowmanwkp You can, however, put one in to the engine block of a car and completely disable it.

That was the .50's original purpose anyways

  • @shadowmanwkp then you have not seen the graphic footage of the Syrian casualties.

  • @shadowmanwkp

the power of this round is never exaggerated

    /watch?v=OAhauwkE4wE

  • @shadowmanwkp You should see my brother, he was shot in the arm with a 12 gauge Winchester slug, he only has one arm now. With a hollow-point 50 BMG, I'm sure limbs will fly.

  • @shadowmanwkp There are videos of snipers getting limbs torn off by .50bmg

  • good video at showing what a .50 BMG cannot do this video shows it will NOT blow people up nice vid

  • you missed the gel

  • Well, that sucked ass.

  • @thomasbhunter68 And what effort is this? Take the effort to read descriptions, you might get a reward.

  • It would be cool to see a .50 bmg vs. a 5' by 5' cube of that.

  • No way was that .50 cal.

  • @skunkape2 It was a giant block, dude. Chill, if you want the specs, ask the Brassfetcher. If I recall, the permanent cavity was 7+inches in diameter, so it is a 50, just hard to see. For reference, you're torso is about 9.5 inches, so your organs are now tainted hamburger after that shot.

  • @sluginsaddlebuckshot i found it. "Bullet traveled point-forward, creating a permanent cavity of 2.0" diameter until 7.8" penetration depth. At this point, the bullet turned sideways, completely separating the aluminum tip section from the lead core and copper jacket, creating a permanent cavity of 7.5" diameter until bullet exit at the back of the block at 16.0" depth. Exit hole at back of block was 2.8" in diameter." look up the extreme shock ammo tests. wow... total disintegration.

  • @pinhead61187 Yeah, but it was a smaller block. Now I'd love to see that extremeshock in such a big block, it'd rain jello. =D

  • @sluginsaddlebuckshot it would suck to be hit by one. of course, you wouldn't feel it long...

  • @pinhead61187 I think I'd rather go out with such a big round than something like a 9mm. It'd be over quick and your friends could brag "My buddy was so tough they had to use an exploding 50 cal to kill him" =D

  • Que video tan malo, que demostro

    para que sirvio.

  • @Showoff0877

Actually, ~supposedly~ they did hit the gel on the webpage and I'm seeing what appears to be 9mm style damage. Pathetic.

  • waste of a click

  • @thomasbhunter68 check the link to brassfetcher in the comments ... literacy fail on your part.

  • Bad video, but I suspect that's only because he forgot to link to the results. Unfortunately, I can't link to the picture, but if you put this /hornadyamax.html on the end of the link in the description (brassfetcher), you can find it.

  • thanks for making this shitty video!

  • Although like I the other viewers I would have liked to have seen a close-up on the block, what folks don't seem to catch is how little the block moved despite being impacted by the .50BMG, which certainly goes against everything the media and Hollywood say about this bullet. Interesting.

  • @patchbunny its cause they were to close any military sniper will tell u the round was going to fast to mushroom out now if they were 600-900 yerds give or take it would had blown up

  • @trigun890 Uh, no. The forces acting on the bullet will be greatest when the velocity is the greatest. KE=1/2mv2 and all that.

  • @patchbunny Click the link for close up. I definitely did PLENTY of damage I think the it secured to the table.

  • wow that white thing moved slightly, AMAZING !

  • Well I'm not too big on your video....the photos and information posted on brassfetcher are second to none, very good info....Also ferret50 is a nice website.

  • OMFG IF EVERY1 HATES THE VID WHY WOULD YOU THINK WE WOULD EVEN BOTHER TO CLICK YOUR LINK

  • @kodyman20 Everyone hates the lack of close up, if you click the link there is the close up. By clicking the link, the thing people hate goes away.

  • Video shit.

  • video de merda.

  • Ummmm... that's one of those videos you toss out as a learning experience and then post the closeup video that would inevitably be taken next. F A I L

  • SOMEBODY OWES ME 23 SECONDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you stole 23 seconds of my life!!!!!!!!!

  • he missed the gel

  • wtf? i just wasted 23 seconds of my life..

  • what a waste of gelatin.................lol

  • Next time do us all a favor and shoot the camera!

  • @morgan4xl or yourself, in the face, you might not die.

  • i gave it 2 stars... i was feeling generous.

  • If I had a vicodin in advance I would let them shoot the same gun at my scrotum and wouldn't even wince.

  • @morgan4xl vicodin aint that strong buddy idk what u were takin but it wusnt vicodin even morhpine wouldnt let me allow people to shoot me in the nuts or phentanol or demoral or or oxycontin or nothin

  • @bobwatters Opana 80 oxymorphine sure would! :D

  • @JobForAGunXx nope pretty sure still no considering phentanol is 100 times stronger than morphine

  • @bobwatters Apparently you don't know what opana is. And it is spelled "fentanyl".

  • @JobForAGunXx yea supposably its stronger than oxycontin but only like 2 or three times stronger not 100

  • Why is tha camera so far away

  • through the jell0 and hop hop and away!

  • ...the aftermath????

  • Camera should be 3 feet away.

  • I did not think there would be nothing left.

  • Zzzzzzz

  • Thanks for the close up of the damage. Didn't see shit.

  • @Showoff0877 Click the link smart one.

  • @Showoff0877

It didn't even hit the gel from what I saw. A 7.62x54R bullet will invert a gel that size with an FMJ from the sheer energy and lack of weight to resist...so if I'm wrong the A-max Hornady bullet for these is the most pathetic expanding slug ever devised.

  • @Showoff0877 The link to a writeup and a photo of the ballistic gelatin after impact is in the video description.

  • @Showoff0877 Thanks for spamming. Read descriptions.

  • Bull Loan Knee

  • that was deff a .223 or 7.62 a 50 cal would blast up that whole block

  • not nececaraly ( i know i dont know how to spell worth shit) if the bullets going fast enough it can go right through it ( im not stating that i am a gun expert just my opinion)

  • (TheRudeReport) WHAAAAT ARE YOU FRICKIN TALKIN BOUT MAN????? U replied the wrong comment didnt you?

  • ya prolly lol

  • It was a .50 BMG A-Max round.

  • its an airsoft xD

  • God for how much you beg your dumbass parents to buy you a airsoft gun you could get a decent Glock. Idiots...

  • hes probably 10 and thinks he knows everything about guns. i would personally get a sks or draganouv if im gonna fork over $500+

  • Seriously but im in need of a better patrol carry

  • yeah those are good guns. you can get them cheaper if you're willing to fix up the wood a bit. I bought my SKS for a little over 200, all that was wrong with it was scuffed up wood. i just re-did it and it looks brand new

  • then you got lucky congrats

  • uh... ok where are the results. and that sure didn't sound like a 50 cal.

  • yea. but the 7.62x51 is a tumbler under the wrong conditions

  • Why did this get such a low rating? It's just a video for the data from a test on brassfetcher ... Which is a very very reliable ballistic gel testing facility.

  • because i think people wanted to see a closeup of the results of the gelatin.

  • From the camera angle, it looks like the shooter hit the box right next to the gel... but if he actually did, it would move more than that.

  • that was either a full metal jacket or not a .50

  • Comment removed

  • And where is the belatin test??

  • .50BMG my arse

  • Worst ballistic gelatin test ever.

    these guys must be downys

  • at that range the bullet would still be travelling at about 2900 fps, at that speed it would pass through concrete like it wasn't even there.

  • wtf not what i was expecting, ive seen pictures of guys sniped with 50s with basketball sized holes in their chest.this hardly made a hole.

  • different round types and different impact material. The gell is made to move around the bullet while stopping it. humans have bone which catch the bullet and make excessive exit wounds.

  • some people are just so dumb

  • Well lets see here. What would take longer to stop, a freight train at 60 mph. or a motorcycle at 60 mph.? A freight train can take over 1/2 mile to stop while cruching a car while a motorcycle would need how much room to stop plowing in to a car? Can anyone do the calculus for us here?

  • Correct me if I'm wrong here but I don't think the 5.56 was designed to tumble but rather it just doesn't take much to cause a 55 grain bullet to tumble. A standard .22 is less likely to tumble and more likely to expand as it's not an fmj.

  • ha ha wow nothing happened

  • wow amazing!!

there is absolutly nothing to see!!

    who would have thought that!!

so whats the point of making and posting this video??

  • These are the videos I HATE. They shoot the gel but they don't show the results up close. WTF!?

  • What? no Results? WTF Mate? By the way a Caliber is the diamiter of a bullet in point inches.

  • Not so much the diameter of the bullet, exactly, but it's either the bullet, the bore (from either the lands or grooves), or some number near one of those. For example, the .50 BMG uses a .510" bullet, but the distance between the lands in the rifling is approximately .50".

  • Ya I know. but it's a generalized explination. another example would be a .380. the actual diamiterof a jacketed .380 auto is actually around .357 or 9MM. so basically the .357 .380 and 9MM are all the same bullet.

  • Millimeters also numbnuts.

  • Okay, according to you, i could say 500 caliber or 5 caliber or 50000000 caliber and mean a five inch bullet. And the reason a .50BMG would leave a big ass hole in you is the same reason a .223 can leave a bigger exit wound than entrance wound. You are correct when you say construction is more vital, which is exactly why I said "hand-loaded". And lastly, take a look at this video and then tell me how you could say "What makes U think that a half inch bullet would leave a hole more than that?".

  • When you say, "400 caliber", do you mean 400.0 or 4.0? Because there's a difference. And a hand-loaded bullet could cut you in half if it's made properly with the right type of components. And lastly, assuming that all/any of my firearms experience is from video games is pretty fucking retarded. And saying that a 50 BMG woould just put a half inch hole in you is just fucking retarded. And, lastly, stop bitching just because not everybody worships your fantastic 5.56mm.

  • no I didn't I said it would take your arm off if it hit you and if it grazed you it would still rip up your shit. You're putting words in my comment that aren't there. Lurn 2 reed.

  • no I had a point and you're trying to bury it under ad hominem and hyperbole because you can't win a rational argument.

I also find it difficult to believe you have some kind of masterful grasp of physics when you can't even spell. Look I'll say it again. If you get grazed with a projectile carrying 13-14 thousand foot lbs of energy your day is going to be ruined. Now go back to jerking off over your little AR-15 and dreaming about the day when you'll be a marine corps reject.

  • what the fuck are you talking about mongoloid?

  • that's not what I said faggot, change the argument again to remind yourself you're not a little bitch ass pussy

  • yes compressed air couldn't hurt you, keep telling yourself that.

  • I mean it would be crazy if you could like, accelerate water or air to a speed where it could cause harm right? You're fucking stupid.

  • It's called air friction. Take a physics class dumbfuck.

  • you missed!

  • That doesn't look like a .50 BMG to me. Lol I would imagine the gel going Splat!

  • I have a 50 cal BMG and i can shoot elk and grizzly up to 1000+ yards away with ease

  • A .50 has the ballistic energy to cut you in half. You're not going to to "fishing toxic pieces of metal out of your body", you're going to be looking for the bottom half of your torso.

  • you obviously have no idea what your talking about. the hydrostatic shock alone would explode most of your organs and leave a exit/entry wound the size of a grapefruit

  • your clearly a fucking retard

  • You have no idea what you're talking about. Contrary to popular belief the 5.56 FMJ round doesn't yaw that often when hitting a body. It more often than not punches a .223 size hole. Why the debate about a more powerful round (6.8mm) if the 5.56 has such stopping power? The energy and sheer mass of a 700 grain bullet hitting flesh is tremendous. No comparison.

  • look dude I'm an Iraq combat vet and I can personally attest that a .50 bmg will take your arm off and carries so much energy that you can graze someone and rip them up from the air friction. If a .50Bmg hits you in the guts you're not worried about little metal fragments because your guts are liquid mush 5 feet behind whereever you landed.

  • You're an idiot.

  • you DO know that a .50BMG has almost 7000 pounds of energy at 1000 yards, right?

thats 10 times the energy of a .357 Magnum at the muzzle

  • actually most .50 bmg rounds are around 10,000 to 12,000 foot pounds of energy if you look at the standard military use round

  • Holy hell...

  • lame-o

  • Yawn...

  • what a crap!

    This vid shows... Nothing!

Wanne see the result of impact in the ballistic gel...

Or you dont hit it? :-)

  • whats the point of this video, if we can't see the results of impact it made within the ballistic gel you stupid fucking moron.

  • well you could see it whent through good. i gues thats about so humans;)

  • uh the link in the comments shows the gelatin. learn to read.

  • that wasnt very good but on your websites thats some cool stuff especially the 12 gauge where it spilt the ballistics in halve lol

  • that was useless...

  • thx for showing us a close up of the cavity u fucking moron.

  • pretty sweet. id like to see a closeup of the block as well.

  • go to their website in descrption therees plenty of close ups

  • lets see a close up of the gelatin block

  • zZzZzZ

  • maaaan! That must be expensive! All that gel? (Check their website)

  • Guys, check the website in the description. They've got some VERY good data on this test, and a whole lot of others. Like Liberty4Ever was kind of left going "WTF" after watching this video, but after visiting the site it all made perfect sense.

  • I was a bit disappointed that the video didn't end with a still image showing the gelatin. Then I went to your website and was very impressed. Great gelatin test data, although a lot of chrono errors suggest a new chrono would be nice. Thanks for doing the tests and posting the data.

  • Saw the penetration on your site, that's pretty crazy. Nice video, and a nice site!

  • Everyone, take a look at the video desc. for details.

  • Thanks Ecalypse. I've been trying to reply to my video, but have not been able to for some reason.

  • Show us the wound channel, Please.

  • ok? what were the results?

  • do you have a video of the shot entering the ballistic gelatine from the side? or a pic/vid showing the bullets lane inside the ballistic gelatine?
