i really like it, great work. How'd your audition go? my college is working on this production this semester, my audition is on monday so I'm looking for inspiration. You have great talent :)
Oh, this is VERY helpful ! I'm thinking of doing this monologue in my audition. Would you watch my recorded monologue if I'd send it to you next week ?
@MariaVysniaMusic Sorry I didn't check my messages till now! If you'd still like to send your video to me (if it's not too late!) I'd love to watch it and give some feedback. Thanks so much for the comment.
@peoplelaurenpeople Hello Lauren! Awww I'm sorry you have to do a shortened version! But I'm glad you get to play such a wonderful part :)
I think your own personal dialect would be very unique to the role. And if your director is okay with it, go with it. It depends on their angle and perspective. But I bet your natural voice is lovely.
Thank you for the comment! If you have any other questions, I'd love to help.
hey I really like your videos *cheers* really awesome *claps*...I'm a budding actress too...do you have any tips on how to deconstruct a monologue? can you make a video? please?
@POTOskaterJMchic I would love to give you tips on how to deconstruct a monologue! Any particular kind? Classical or contemporary? I may just post a video on it. Thanks very much for the feedback, you are very sweet! Best of luck with acting!
@EyesLikeAShowroom Actually both, but probably a little more on Shakespeare, cause that just confuses me...how do you vary tone and pitch and emphasis on modern texts so that it does not seem completely fake or exagerrated? Thanks SOOO much!
@POTOskaterJMchic I know this advice is coming late, which I sincerely regret, but one way to vary the pitch and emphasis is not to do it just for the sake of doing it. Back it up with a reason. Shakespeare has many tools in order to do this. For ex., antithesis is illustrating the difference between two words (or ideas) by showing it in inflection. Like "rich" and "poor". Or "love" and "hate". And, connect to your words. That always makes any monologue better. Find a way you can relate to it.
oh this is so good! i got Titania for my school production and I'm gonna do this little speech more like how you do it =]
