  • bravooooooo!!!!!!!!!

  • ¡Extraordinario!

  • @dolograndi Como eres tonto!

    Saludos!

  • Genio!

  • @pitimpinai Yeah, he's the same singer from Almodovar's movie

  • yeah pitimpinai, he's the same singer from the Almodovar's movie

  • This song is proof that music has its own language

  • sacatumba, anyway try to see caetano in portuquese. congratulations for your capacity

  • sorry scatumba, you really right. i make mistake

  • Cou Courou Couou Paloma... CCCP... O____o

  • Bonita interpretación!!! Adoro está canción!

  • das habe ich schon besser gehört.

  • sorry physicsMathMan, but Caetano sings not in spanish, but portuquese. Tanks.

  • @fernandochiarelli you haven't seen the video, he's singing in spanish there…

  • Awesome!!!

An idol who surely have more respect out there than here."

  • I thumbed down to on1E18htSe7en by mistake, didn't read from the beginning, caught it at the quote...I soo agree with wholetthedoqqo if I typed that correctly. If someone really can't sing, then you say, "can't sing" but just because it's not your style....I get soo tired of those type of simple minded posts. This man sings like an angel...put that's just my opinion...see how that works?

  • ESTA ME TRAE A LA MENTE A MI MARIDO ROBERT.. FIERRO EL CUAL MURIO LUCHANDO CON MI LOCURA

  • La interpretación de Caetano es extraordinaria

  • more you talk about him, bad or good, more famous he becomes

  • It's strange that the record company itself has posted a video with such a bad quality and wrong aspect ratio, and not even the whole song. There are better and complete videos of this song here on YouTube.

  • ...which still awaits the return of the ill-fated woman.

    Cucurrucucú dove, cucurrucucú don't cry.

    The stones would never... dove,

what would they know of love?

    Cucurrucucú, cucurrucucú,

    Cucurrucucú, cucurrucucú,

    cucurrucucú, dove, stop crying.

  • They say that at night he would do nothing but cry; they say he wouldn't eat, and would do nothing but drink. They swear heaven itself shuddered at the sound of his crying, he suffered for her so, that even in death he would call her: Ay, he sang, ay,he moaned, Ay, he sang, of a mortal passion, he died. They say a sad dove, in the early morning, sings to the empty house with its doors wide open; they swear the dove is nothing other than his soul, which...
  • this is one of the most beautiful songs i've ever heard and i can probably only understand five words

  • Firstly,

    Respect for Caetano Veloso!

But Mariachi music has been made to sing your lungs out, not to appear to be loud but mostly to reflect such an emotion, such passion and power when it come to this song. Paloma is a song that has to be sang with the heart in your throat. Good on him for doing this song, in his own version and musicality. it reflects that he loves and respects Mexican music. Vaya Caetano!! :)

  • @KarlosNavarrete MEXICAN? Its spanish musics, mexican music sounds like streetperforming.

  • @aardappelpitsap idiot. It's mexican. "cucurrucucu paloma"

  • They say that at nights all he could do was cry all the time they say he won´t eat all he could do was drink at all times they swear that heaven itself would tremble hearing his crying He suffered so much for her that even on his death he was calling her

  • @SARUZO1 Emm, tienes razon! .. Y claramente voz mexicana mucho mejor

igualmente saludos de queridisimo Jalisco , México!

  • wanderfull ! I love!!!

  • Wow... You can't even tell he's portuguese ... amazing

  • @edgar5001

Sorry but you got it wrong, Caetano Veloso is actually Brazilian.

  • An angel sings.

  • his earring makes him look like a mafia thug. but his voice makes him sound like an angel

Thank you!!!. Favourite and shared. Cheers!!!, Sergio.

  • wow this is a beautiful rendition.

  • Im mexican and I love this version thank you for singing our music wich is now yours as weell I can tell you fill the music thank you

  • just amazinng 5stars

  • I don't speak a word of spanish and this was still one of the best I've ever heard

I can tell for some reason that the song is about love and heartache -- I felt like the singer was going to cry at the end

  • dd

  • you can go to wikipedia and search for Cucurrucucu paloma to read some translations

  • wersja romantyczna-subtelna-brawissimo

  • ARE U PEOPLE CRAZY.>>??... CAETANO VELOSO IS A VERY TALENTED SINGER AND COMPOSER... WONDERFULL... .. YOU GUYS ARE OUT OF YOUR MINDS

  • @wholetthedog 1) I can give you examples of other guys that can sing better, maybe even you. He could have 5 or 40 years of career, but that doesn't make him better or worst. He can be an icon in Brasil, but not all over, no way, because in our region, he is not even known, maybe in Venezuela. This song is a huapango, a mexican song, the only version that fits is with a mariachi, otherwise it will have no taste. And don't be fresh or rude, because I'm not insulting nobody, this is my opinion,ok.

  • @dolograndi 1 - I was not insulting you. just commented your opinion about Caetano not knowing to sing and I keep my opinion.

2 - About Caetano's version well, it's up to you find your own reasons for not to like it and believe me I will be the last person to demote you from your own taste

3 - You are mixing your own taste with the concept of singing. Sure some singers are more interesting than others, but on this level not knowing to sing it's something that it's out of the question.

  • 8 peeps are dumb asses

  • @EspartanoRasta Now, that something a "smart" person would say.

  • Sorry...that's Hable con ella!

  • This particular recording was specifically made for the Pedro Almodovar's film Habla con ella/Talk to Her...it is a beautiful rendition of the song and it fit perfectly with what was going on in the film when it was sung by Caetano Veloso in the movie as well.

There is room for many interpretations and versions of traditional folk songs. People should open their minds and ears!

  • Come on just take it for what it is, he is not trying to out do Lola Beltran or anything, all he is doing is processing his right as an artist to follow the footsteps of those who have inspired him, it is no competition, just calm down. indeed anyone can sing, looking at it from this perpective you've ended up contradicting yourself, why should caetano be any less than all those 'anymore with voice can sing better' as you've said. maybe you just don't like him personaly but then just understand

  • this man cannot sing, I can sing better than him, common pls. There are better artist that sing better, than waisting time with this kind of people that call themselves artist.

  • @dolograndi then you should be so gracious as to post a video singing this exact song with MORE passion, grace, and tranquility. Please, allow us to succumb to your swooning; we are patiently waiting.

  • @cmatthews926 I don't need to do that, just because of you. I just wanted to make clear that this man cannot sing and that anymore with voice can sing better than him. This is a mexican song, a huapango, it has no essence without a mariachi band. Look how it should be sang by searching for Lola Beltran. Let me know, ok.

  • @dolograndi "Caetano cannot sing". A bit strange for a men that spent more than 40 years singing and is one of the music icons not only in Brasil but all-over the world. Now if you don't like him or this song version that's another subject. So you have voice, go and put your money where your mouth is and sing whatever you want and post it back to all of us. By the way Lola Beltran i don´t like but it does not entitle me to comment about her voice, or type of song she sings...got it?

  • @wholetthedoggo 2) I just said that you have to hear Lola sing this song so that one can understand how it should be sung. This is not about a type of song, but about the way it should be interpreted, the mexican way. Got it?

  • @wholetthedoggo I KNOW how much of an idiot... hes recognized in every country,.. this guy is drunk... hes a legend,, everywhere man... get your act together... pleaseeeeeeeee

  • @wholetthedoggo I respectfully disagree. His voice is not deep and sonorous like Placido Domingo's but it is full of shades and tones that may or may not be pleasing depending on perspective. In my very Mexican perspective, this rendition fully portrays the woeful spirit of this gorgeous song. I still like Lola Beltran's rendition better.

  • @Tlatoanimeh My comment was about "dolograndi saying that Caetano cannot sing". Respectfully, and whomever will support this opinion I say that they do not know what singing means. All the rest, comparing this and that singer.. and how this or that version should be singed..well.. I don't do it and don't let no one to drag me into this type of discussion.

  • @wholetthedoggo Probably one of those morrons who likes autotune music.

  • @aardappelpitsap

I think you mean "moron". Idiot.

  • @On1Ei8htSe7en Hahaha your such a trol. Lookin for my comments on different vids, your pathetic. Now grow up. Que te follen cabron! A tomar pol culo! BAI DEN TONTI BO MAMA! See i speek more languages then you can count, so forgive my spelling error.

  • @aardappelpitsap

Well continue to fucking speak them and leave my lanuage the fuck alone. Oh that's right... all of you have pretty much gotta learn English. Why do you even bother learning your own monkey talk? Oh and I wonder if you speak those lanuages as bad as you talk English.

  • @On1Ei8htSe7en My level is the same on all 3 languages witch is excellent. Making English your native language doesn't mean you own it. I try to speak English as good as i can, and not to speak with retarded kids like you but to have a future in international corporations. You see like it or not i speak English, Spanish, and Dutch fluently. Although yes my previous comments where not a 100 percent correct neither were yours. This is my last comment have a great life in beautiful Scotland.

  • @aardappelpitsap

Go fuck yourself retard. You started this shit by trying to be a smart ass... so have fun with your imaginary international corporation. No one is going to hire a fuck tard that can't even spell.

  • @aardappelpitsap

Hahahha have a future with internation corporations... You are 31.... GOOD LUCK! You cheese eating, red light district visiting Dutch faggot. Blocked. ;)

  • @On1Ei8htSe7en your so funny "You cheese eating, red light district visiting Dutch faggot."

  • @aardappelpitsap hehehehe... see he spelt WITCH!! ....ignorance at it's full potential.

  • Do a search for Blanca Villa cantando Cucurucucu. I think it was recorded with a mobile and it still sounds good

  • Caetano is grat, but Lola´s way is the best.

  • You have to pour your whole soul... Watch Lola Beltran - Cucurrucucu Paloma, 1981 to see how this song is suppose to be interpreted!!!

  • ESTA VERSION ES MUY LINDA MIS RESPETOS MAESTRO.

  • Check out this version by Gabriela Bojorquez:

    "Cucurrucucu Paloma"/Gabriela Bojorquez

  • Don't understand a word of Portuguese and I can only say things like, "I like cats" in Spanish (working on fixing that). However, don't need to understand the words to understand Caetano Veloso. He's fucking awesome. Better than any other singer I have heard, sans Ann Peebles, Etta James, and Ella Fitzgerald. Home girl Elis Regina is pretty good too.

  • @kives1985 I agree he is awesome, but this is Spanish.

  • @kives1985 This is Spanish!

  • Spanish or portuguese are the same!!! only enyoid (??) the music and these letter´s. Caetano speaks an excelent spanish.

  • @kives1985 i think portuguese has changed over the years, when i was a little kid i had a portuguese cousin and couldnt understand a word he said(i spoke spanish) nor any of the spanish speaking adults could understand portuguese.years later(im 47 now) here in Canada,i heard two girls speaking spanish(i understood every word they were saying) and i said..."oh you girls speak spanish!" they said "no we speak portuguese" so all i can figure is that over the years it has changed ps:Brazilian girls.

  • @damshley Brazilian portuguese is very different from portuguese from portugal. We can understand each other but even for brazilians it's hard sometimes to understand what portuguese people say. I believe portuguese people understand us better.

By the way, I'm brazilian, Caetano is a brazilian singer but in this particular song he's singing in spanish.

  • @puts111 oh cool! thanks for clarifying that for me! btw this singer has an excellent voice, very fine and kind of soothing. :)

  • maravillosa interpretacion. bravo si estuviera Lola Beltran fuera otra comparacion.

Biete mich mal ausnahmsweise völlig willenlos an *smile*

  • This song was first in Wong Kar Wai's "Happy Together" ...before Talk To Her

  • This man is AMAZING!

Merci
