The hopeful side of me says not to be too hard on them. This was 1978. But my practical mind reminds me that Mitt Romney claims to be a Mormon. That means that there are enough people that associate with the religion (of course, Mormonism in its modern form of commercials of pretty liberal surfer girls) in order for a viable spot at being a representative of our country. Mormonism gave up on blacks and now display is inconsiderate irrationality of homosexuality. There is a lesson here.

Senator Harry Reid, who is the head of the Senate, is Mormon too but disagrees completely with Mitt, and , I might add with much of the bigotry Mormons have had in the past. I am Mormon, but freely admit we were bigoted and still have a ways to go with our acceptance of others. But other Christian denominations are also in the same boat. Before that just about all denominations had issues with racism.
