oh wow, that was such a beautiful scene. My heart was literally fluttering, one of the realist kiss scenes I've ever seen, full of emotion and awkwardness! Such brilliant acting by both River and Lili.
In Rose's song, I thought the line was, "and rain keeps falling like hell"...but then she goes "Hel-----pless tears" LOL lovely scene but I just thought that was kind of funny :)
As brilliant as I think River Phoenix was I think he really plays to Lili Taylor's character, rather than the other way around. I think she eclipsed him, particularly in this scene. She managed to get me to fall in love with Rose!
as a guy i never really liked love stories but i cant lie i watched this movie when i got home from work one night and i really enjoyed it its a very sweet movie
@hairtriggercolt45 this is exactly the same for me... and i'm a girl ... i stunned myself at how much i love this film ... ;/ ... and i still don't like love story movies but there is just something about this one that transcends the typical ... the emotions conveyed in this are just too real it tugs

River is touchingly real in this movie. Lili Taylor is fantastic. Absolutely charming scene! Eddie totally and irrevocably falls for Rose in spite of his best efforts not to!

Lili stole this film for me but she has says that River was very uncomfortable in the role and I think it shows. Still love it though.
