  • Harriet Wheeler is an angel...what a voice, and she is so beautiful!

  • would kill to see these Live now <3

  • This song never gets old. This chick introduced me to in very late on cold February evening while jacking me off as a prelude to a pounding; she told me she was in heaven at the time and I remember trying to reach the CD player, to restart the song, while not compromising her kung fu grip; I stole the CD that night.

  • Chords?! Tabs?! anybody?! please :-)

    thank you!

  • love it at 3:38!!!

  • Man, what a sad song. Sure is a cute girl, that Harriet Wheeler. BABE!

  • the intro kinda sounds like swamp thing by the chameleons

  • Reminds me so much of Lindsay & Isaac~ If you like the Sunday, check them out on YT.:)

  • This girl was one of the best female alternative singers ever. The only other chick that could fuck with her is liz from cocteau.

  • Her name is Harriet, you heathen

  • Could somebody please upload a version of this video that has decent audio that you can actually hear?

  • Such an original band. Harriet gets the most accolades but I think the band is extremely under-rated as well. Excellent musicianship. As an avid music lover I can't believe I didn't really know about these guys until recently, even though I liked "Summertime" when it came out.

  • As the heavens shudder baby!

  • @mrchrisization I belong to yoooooooooooooou!

  • dayum i love this band <3

  • The harmonies from 2:40-3:20 is what I imagine Heaven sounds like. This song fills me with such joy.

  • I've lost count how many times I've listened to this song in my life and what it means to me and how it always seems to make my life make sense when nothing else does.

  • The best underrated band.

  • i love her.. i dont care if she is much older than me

  • nice. sounds like The Cranberries.

  • @sudokuwkroku nooooooooo!

  • Jangly guitars; catchy melodies; poignant lyrics; Levi jeans; staring into space; just gotta love the 90s sounds. This band were brill! Three albums then? Does anyone know? Please advise if you do. Cheers.

  • @22Phantasm she and her common law husband had kids in 97 and they haven't played anything since then unfortunately.

  • @SlaytanicSteven Well, they haven't made any new music since then, but they had Bobbie on the tour with them for Static and Silence in '98.

  • Dave you lucky bastid

  • confessions, I was so in love with her voice and loved the music too!

  • @TheStrainers - me too. This song brings a lump to my through even now. Back then it was so relevant.

  • This is when music was still good.

  • Harriet WHeeler is so amazing. I envy her husband

  • @alfjones8787

Her and Dave Gavurin aren't married. They're common law.

  • I've never heard this song.

    What a pleasant surprise!

  • 6 people said Goodbye.

  • Her voice is so beautiful and unique.I would marry her even if i had to negotiate my soul.

  • her music and her voice are so beautiful,i will always love the sundays

  • Happy B-day Harriet!

    NJ, U.S.

  • So beutiful that hurts

  • i had no idea this was even a single until i saw this in 2008. it was my favorite song on BLIND anyway...

  • She wore the same hairstyle for an entire decade, but damn she was still cute

  • Harriet Wheeler. Hope Sandoval. Alison Krauss. Megan Hickey.

    Goodbye.

  • You know how they say a picture is worth a thousand words? Well, This song and really the whole album paints a thousand pictures for me! . . . How many words would that be, I wonder? The other day, someone told me that synergy occurs when the whole is of more value than the sum of the parts. It's like 2+2=5, you know? You can hear that there is just something extra ordinary there in the music.

  • personally, I thought the Cranberries were a copy cat band of the Sundays.

Harriet Wheeler... just how high a note can this little soprano sing..??

  • @forreal918 i think her range is infinite.

  • @forreal918 yeah they were.

  • F it. I don't care if The Sunday's fell into the class of sorority rock. I'm a guy and I completely love this track. I have ever since I discovered it back in 1996. The big production qualities is superb and Harriot Wheeler's voice just exudes delicate femininity. 5 stars.

  • @BadgemanDFW when they traded in DMs for sketchers

  • @BadgemanDFW - Thanks and I appreciate your comments but.........Sorority rock? I don't think so. The Sundays are a great rock band - period. I love these guys. They play the best version of "Wild Horses" I've ever heard. "Here's Where the Story Ends" is a classic. And "Goodbye" is unforgettable.

  • @BadgemanDFW Remind me, what is sorority rock? I'm guessing James Blunt.

  • @BadgemanDFW Pure sonic extasy. I have a nice audio system and this song is one of my all time favorites to crank up. Good music is good music. Anyone who thinks this is bubblegum music doesn't know music.

  • magic

  • beautiful. took me years to find cause i thought it was the cranberries.

  • "Blind" is one of the few albums I can listen all the way through - when I can't fall asleep, I put on my ipod - Sundays - play all...totally relaxes me..."I Feel" is one of the best..

  • my favorite young lady singer , i cannot fathom life without the sundays songs

  • "just give me an easy life and a peaceful death"

  • @luvkalel I actually got this phrase tattooed on me about four months ago.

  • i bet people that like this song, like to listen to rain fall.

  • I just love this song so much :')

  • Her voice is os beautiful, that she can make flowers bloom.

  • @DOCTORWHOTARDIS13 Best comment yet I found on Harriet’s singing, well done and probably true.

  • For the record, thank god they are not like the cocteau twins. The Sundays are 100% class, the guitar, the vocals, the lyrics, the lot.

  • Ok..................for the record...........nothing and I mean nothing sounds like the cocteau twins..............i like the sundays but they are no cocteau twins

  • @gatsby517 they're nothing alike, but I was always a MUCH bigger fan of the Sundays.

  • I've got this tape !Great songs on it.Wild Horses is amazing. The best version of the Stones song. I'm sure Mick Jagger loves it too.I love Harriet Wheeler and the Sundays !

  • Hey Moz had the sex change xP

  • @MrNonoz

Glad I'm not the only one that sees her as the female Morrissey. :D

  • @reivenlocke Morrisey with talent

  • @nerdflanders8710

They both have talent. Don't hate.

  • @reivenlocke morriseys a poof. I hate pooves.

  • @nerdflanders8710

Your loss. I like them both.

  • @reivenlocke lol that guy honestly doesn't know what he's talking about.

  • @713madmags : I'm fairly sure Robin Guthrie co-produced it, which would explain that.

  • One of my all time favourite tunes.... Harriet Wheeler.... just love her voice......such a good country voice!

Gives me goosebumps everytime :) I think it may just have to be on my Wedding playlist!

  • A song that comes with a smile and a story. To be continue.....

  • INCREDIBLE, ABSOLUTLY INCREDIBLE.

  • so 90s. I love it.

  • I'm so damn jealous of you, David Gavurin!

  • @CartoonMuhammed What for? His guitar skills? Or the fact that he's married to Harriet?

  • @shanejacobus Mainly that he's married to Harriet. She's just mesmerizing.

  • @CartoonMuhammed ...Me too. I play acoustic guitar and I can't count how many times I've fantasized accompanying Harriet. What a thrill it must have been for Dave

  • wonderful voice...great band...if only all those 80's + 90's bands could keep recording new songs and tour....our life would be brighter

  • The 1980's had Liz Fraser and the 1990's had Harriet Wheeler.

  • i am vowin that its good bye and God bless

  • Is there a way I can marry just this chick's larynx?

  • you know as i listen to the sundays, i often wonder how amazing it must feel to be able to sing like that it must feel wonderful! i love harriet one of my all time favourite singers : )

  • How could I forget about these guys!!!?

  • To all of you here, who love this woman, her man, and their sound... We are one. There's a beauty in the haunting; a sadness in the exhilaration. In this, we find love and pain; in her voice, eternity.

  • @hupfernum You are a beautiful soul for saying what you wrote here. I was thinking as I watched this video that you can see all the beauty of life and creation is these few minutes if you have the eyes to see it. Apparently, you do. P.S. I think their version of "Wild Horses" is one of the single most beautiful things I've ever heard in my life. "Folk Song" makes me swoon, too. Loveliness. :)

  • @hupfernum I love finding other people who love The Sundays!

  • <3(;

  • What the voice of an angel would sound like.......At least I hope so

  • Makes my heart smile. Takes me back to when I used to sit by the stream and play her music as loud as I could. I would sing and dance and let it all go

  • this song reminds me of driving back down to college in the fall...used to always blast this album while driving down I-79 with the leaves in bloom. that a great fucking time to be in college and coming of age. i'd give anything to go back to that time armed with who i am now rather than who i was. but, of course, i cannot. this song is the closest thing there is to me getting back to those times. incredible.

  • I refuse to say good bye to the sundays if I've got I'll run all way to bloody hell to bring them back

  • "If heaven ever shudder's baby I belong to yooou...!"

  • I LOVE The Sundays!!!

  • The jangier the better. I love this group.

  • I always was a sucker for a jangly guitar solo 3:36

  • That has some of the most incredible use of multi-tracking Harriet's voice, a divine song, it's just a shame the video doesn't seem to know what it's saying...

  • From 2:32 onward is the most divine part of this wonderful song,

    particularly from 3:05 onward.

  • The first concert I went to was to The Sundays in Hollywood.1992. And what a treat it was to see and listen to Harriet up close. She has a voice to remind us to never take for granted our hearing and a beauty that reminds me how she stold my teenage heart years ago.

  • I'd never even heard of The Sundays until I stumbled across the "Cry" video about 10 minutes ago ... this is just fantastic stuff, new favourite!

  • love the intro to this song. i'd forgotten how good the sundays were....lovely to be reminded. what are they up to now?

  • Harriet Wheeler has one of the most soothing and rich voices to ever grace Rock music. Anyway, what happened to 'Alternative' music. In today's monopolized music industry, we have artists such as Jason Mraz masquerading as 'Alternative' artists. Lol!

  • and 7 people have no taste at all. how could you not like this?

  • Harriet come back to us!!!

  • whoever hit the dislike button is trash.

  • She's gorgeous.

  • Still on of the greatest bands ever

  • esta me relajo varias veces...

  • This quality of voice has been lost in our Simon Cowelll controlled music world how sad 4 al of us!

  • So, SO beautiful...

  • they seriously don't make music this good anymore. Bring back the Sundays... seriously.

  • What are their other albums and is this their best album ? thanks

  • @PerfectCharity - hi PC- tough decision, but i feel like each album of theirs is better than their last. not many bands I can say that about except 'Iona' and 'jellyfish' (tho jellyfish only had 2 and a half albums). 'static and silence' is amazing - Harriet's voice is better than ever, the production, the sound, the musicianship. (the production is very very clean (or i would call 'clear' - not very '90's) but that only brings out the delicate parts of the instruments- espec. H's voice.

  • @Texture2000 Wow you know who Iona is? I don't think I've ever met another person who is a fan of both of those bands other than myself! Cool.

  • @PerfectCharity - also, make sure you get their 6 un-released/b-sides songs. 'noise', 'don't tell Mother', and especially these next 4: 'gone', 'nothing sweet', 'through the dark', 'life goes on'. They were put as b-sides on single cd's for 'cry' and 'summertime'. let me know if you can NOT find them.

  • come back Harriett Wheeler!!

  • oh yeah.

loved the band. love the music ever.

i had a nice meeting after a gig in berlin in the metropol with them.

they where very sympathic and natural.

    nice and beatyful musicians.

    what are they doin` now???

  • yep ... i agree with most of these comments ~ incredible song by a terribly talented group ! ;o)

  • Best - Song - Ever!

  • I miss The Sundays! This music will always be with me and so close to my heart... thank you for posting this :-) Great song.

  • happy..beautiful!!

  • Goodbye & God bless... :)

  • Watch good PPL and notice @ 2,07 The camera of the "Satanic" Music industry zooms in on Harriet's "EYE" Symbolizing their subliminal NWO identity !! Sinister or....WHAT ???.....anyway great song...they can't cover that ....or......can they !??!!!

  • no matter what type of day ive had this picks me up!

  • A very talented group of individuals for sure. Brilliant writing, arrangements and engineering. A oneness that keeps drawing me back. Beautiful works.

  • love this song :) so beautiful

  • I love the Sunday's.. I wore this CD out.. They are great for chilling with a glass of wine...

  • Happy Birthday to Harriet Wheeler (June 26).

    :)

  • An incredible guitarist.Listen close for all those details.

  • @ted0408 Amen brother...Gavurin is under-appreciated as a guitarist and song writer...I've read everything I can put my hands on about the band and as far as I can tell, Gavurin is self-taught..no musical training...Just amazing

  • awesome song, Harriets voice makes me shudder- in a good way!

  • beatiful song by beautiful lady..........

  • thats a very short pinky....

  • So pretentiously nineties but I still love the Sundays. :)

  • one of the underrated bands of all time. harriet and dave chooses to be full time parents.

  • Harriet is a BABE! And her voice just blows me away. She sings so effortlessly. I only wish the Sundays had released a few more CDs.

  • cool

  • One of the most underated bands of all time... Harriets voice can just take you away........ and Dave's guitar riffs.... AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

'i vow thats its goodbye to the old ways'

  • OMG. what a gorgeous video to a gorgeous song. I was almost brought to tears...

  • You can say Harriet is splendiferous, but it is not enough to do her justice. Her voice is beyond words to describe.

  • Isn't it astounding that The Innocence Mission music is so very similar to The Sundays? Maybe partially, but especially the guitar work of David Gavurin and Don Peris sounds so comparable...

  • 3 of best albums that never got the recognition they deserved. I so wish I could have seen them live.

  • @rainrunner1 I saw them live in 1992. They were magnificent. Harriet's got such a big voice for a such a tiny woman (she's like 5'1"), and she's got a face as gorgeous as her voice. I'm a sucker for petite redheads, I guess.

  • @rainrunner1 Hear, hear!

  • So this is what it's come to...

Am I cold, or just a little bit warm?

  • Im totally convinced that this may be the greatest song of the last 20 years, a shame it never got its due when it came out

  • They owe it to the waiting world to release a new album. Only 3 albums-worth of material of this quality is a crime.

  • Afrikaaner.

  • i would never get tired of hearing her voice... i just love it. It really calms me. :)

  • @sassyessie

    Calms me most days.

  • @sassyessie If that is true, his voice is very beautiful.

  • HELL YEAH, best song out of the whole entire Blind CD.

  • love this song!

  • Great band. Great Voice. Great album. Great song. That is all.

  • demais!

  • "Just give me an easy life and a peaceful death"

    Isn't that what everybody wants?

  • actually, I'd be just as happy with a whole wheat English muffin with flaxseed, spread with almond butter and raw organic honey from Whole Foods, splashed down with a mixed drink of acai, goji, pomegranate, limeade with ginger, green tea, coconut water and peppermint yerba mate. Is that too much to ask?

  • @shanejacobus I think people do... mostly... but often people dream of more, bigger, grander, even grandiose things... then when those dreams don't come true they give up, and all they dream of is the easy painless life and death, as if no more than that could come to them.

  • @shanejacobus not every1 no

  • I saw them at the Avalon in Boston for a live show!!! Just amazing live...Wish they still toured!!!

  • Sending out how much we appreciate their tunes, her voice and performance, and how much we miss them... holds many feelings and memories for my lady and I both. We hold this pretty sacred...

  • fan fan fan !!! quelle voix ! la musique , juste le necessaire pour l'accompagner , que du talent ! une voix d'ange sur des notes celestes ;-)
