    Sebastian...

  • Great Stuff Mikey, I was waiting for something like this to come out in a long time. In your video u ver talkin bout multiple outputs(6) as u said from the firebox,

1)Can individual instruments be taken through seperate outputs,eg..ch1-kick,ch2-snare,ch3-toms...and so on?

    Thanks

  • That's what the Firebox is for. You can set multiple outputs exactly like you describe!

  • 1. You have to go with a store, or manufacturer. I go with RET Percussion.

    2. You can try Everything! From RET Percussion, to custom drums, to all types of drum heads and sticks... it's awesome!

    It's in Anaheim, California, US.

  • hey mikey me agin. my rolands go in to the fire box the box to pc. could my no zero latency come form no io trigger and not hooked up right ? should i be going right to the pc i got a roland um-ex 1 ?

  • Hey Mikey, greetings from Mexico. Just a couple of questions, do you know anything about the latency on a MOTU 896HD running Superior 2.0 on either mac or windows?

Do I HAVE to buy a Firebox?

    Thanks!

  • Wow... sorry for the delay!

You can try ASIO4ALL (just google and download for PC). Choose it as your audio driver.

  • wow thanks, it's been a while. I switched from sonar to logic, I bought all of the EZDrummer kits to use them with Superior 2, got myself some ddrum pro triggers, DIY Mesh heads, the alesis trigger I|O and i've been recording with the MOTU. No problems with the MOTU driver, I also got the Firebox so I can take it on the road.

Thank you for your videos, I've learned a lot!

  • Why thank you very much! Amen!

    -mikey

  • so 2 play with the alesis trigger i/o i need a firebox 2?

  • NO!

The firebox just provides low latency!

You can use one without the other.

Thanks for the messages and comments!

  • hi mikey please tell me:) what program do you use to play the softwares? you need cubase , fl studio or summtin like that 2 play that softwares right?

  • Lucky dog.. What I wouldn't give to go to NAMM.. :-P

BTW - Still have to pick up a copy of BFD2. DFH SD2.0 only supports ONE MIDI input at a time, ... so I've been forced to use a MIDI Merger, ... which seems to get confused from time to time. (Usually on really fast grooves.) Not sure if BFD2 supports more than one MIDI input or not. Toontrack just says "Will be available in future releases." (As if that does me any good NOW... :-P )

Keep it up, ... lovin' the videos...

    -Jeff

  • Jeff, All I can say is that if you know your stuff, and can play a little, and absolutely love your kit, I would highly consider making some sort of video. RET loves that kind of stuff! You never know... it just might get you an invite to NAMM ;-)

ALSO, I'll do you a favor, I'll pick up another IO and see if BFD2 will recognize them.

    -mikey

  • Awesome! I would greatly appreciate your looking into that. Would save me some cash if it doesn't work. Aside from that issue, ... I've been pretty happy with SD2.0, ... but to be honest, if BDF2 supports multiple MIDI-IN's, I'll definitely buy it.

I know, ... I really need to get some video up. I just really wanted to have everything working the way I wanted before I did. Maybe I'll have to throw up the camera later this week and see if I can't throw something together. :-P

    -Jeff

  • I've got the IO coming from RET on Monday... I will let you know!

    -mikey

  • thanks for your videos... you do a good job of selling!

  • Yes he does, but once you've seen/played a RET kit in person, you'll see that they basically sell themselves. :-)

I bought my kit (15pc's including cymbals) based in good part by Mikey's video's. I spent a great deal of money doing so, but once I saw how beautiful it was once set up and felt how the kit plays and sounds w/good software, ... I can honestly say it was worth every penny.

P.S. "To date," I've never been contracted by RET for anything. :) I just own one and love it!

  • Absolutely correct! You play it, you love it. That's really all there is to it!

I'm still dying to actually see your kit, Jeff. I cannot believe it's that large!

Glad to see these videos are useful.

RET kits are unlike any other electronic kit on the market, and hopefully our enthusiasm will help show it!
